Wow what a beautiful place compared to the old place. That was the one star, this place was a glorified Golden Corral. The food was bland and horrible unless you got the salad. Cole slaw very little taste same with the dry fried chicken and everything else I tried. I tried the chips and salsa and I can't even fathom what salsa was purchased. The stewed tomatoes tasted like tomatoes thrown in watered down pasta sauce. Was looking forward to this, however I will not be back that is for sure. So sad for such a beautiful place. while on a bus tour for Sight and Sound show this was the place for lunch. Because there was 2 bus loads they set us up for family style dining away from the smorgasbord. If the food served on the smorgasbord is anything like what we got I would save my money and go elsewhere. The mashed potatoes were instant and quite thin. Nothing had any seasoning and is very unforgettable. what they served as stuffing was simple bread that was moistened and warmed up. My server was incredible!! She was very courteous and attentive. I walk using a cane and she helped me in getting my food. My wife had hurt her leg and wasn't able to come to the restaurant. Amanda helped me to get a meal to take to the room. She made sure that I had everything that my wife would need. Utensils, dinner and desert. Then packed it all in a bag so I could carry it. She represented everything you needed and quality helping in a difficult situation. Based on Amanda's helpfulness I would definitely return to Hershey Farm Resort. read more

It was my first time at Hershey Farm Resort and it won't be my last. From the bright and beautiful dining room to the kind and courteous servers it was an awesome experience. I normally don't like buffets, but this one is one I will be returning to. There were sooo many food options and dessert options as well. My friends and I were very impressed by this place. The new renovations are very well done! The restaurant is beautiful and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was amazing and there was plenty to pick from, I especially loved the dessert section with the soft serve ice cream machines. [974] 9/15/2019 This local family restaurant is located in a busy tourist part of town. We stopped in for breakfast and looks like a busy time as the line was super long for omelets and waffles. We also had a long line by the food. It's set up so you can serve from both sides.. sort of because the lid only opens one way. The food was tasty. Staff friendly. Drinks are crazy $3 for soda or coffee. Our drink bill was $15 for fountain drinks. Crazy and a turn off!!!! There is a nice store. Outside has tons of animals which are cool. My family and I came here after a very excellent show at the Sight and Sound Theatre. The restaurant is less than a minute away and there's a shortcut through both parking lots. Overall, this buffet style restaurant was adequate. It wasn't great but not bad either. Many others had the same idea to go after the show, and the restaurant was advertising for staff. They were definitely understaffed, but all did a nice job of trying to stay ahead of keeping food in the service trays, clearing tables regularly, and keeping drinks full. The food was like any other buffet I've been to with exception that all were in roll-top-desk like silver colored trays which helped keep food hot, and no one from contaminating it; get your food, cover it up. There was a carving station for roast beef and a grill for things like fresh burgers, chicken, and steak sandwiches. There was also a dessert station with pies, self serve soft ice cream, and waffle machine. The fried chicken was excellent, prime rib was ok (overdone and too long under the heat lamp), shoo fly pie was dry and bland, pudding and cake were so-so. They had typical kid's fare of chicken nuggets (not bad), fries, and pizza (not good). Lastly, they had soup and salad stations. The seafood chowder was nice with a lot of seafood within. All drinks were about $3.99, but you had unlimited refills. The buffet is about $28 for dinner for adults? Don't remember. About $130 for four adults (two teens) including nonalcoholic drinks for all not including tip for a Saturday evening dinner. Service was friendly. Don't expect a lot here, but I'm sure everyone will find something they like. But is that one or two thing's worth the price? Not really, even if it's all you can eat. read more

In the past week, we've visited the cafe, shoppes, and buffet. Honestly, I can't wait to go back to each of them. The cafe has the most amazing paninis. I tried three of them (hawaiian, italian, and Robust), and they were all SO GOOD. The guy told me they make their thick-cut bread in house every day, and I ate every single bite, even though I fully planned to save half for later. My friend got a graham cracker latte, and I was instantly jealous that I did not. I tried it, and holy baloney it was so good. The shoppes impressed me a lot! So many brunch dresses, nice workout gear, snacks, etc. I ended up buying two dresses and have already worn one out lol. The buffet was great - I recommend the chicken alfredo!! I almost asked the chef for the recipe because there's no way I go back to Prego now. The dessert bar had me hooked too. I may or may not have consumed like 2000 calories worth of cheesecake and pie, but that's between me and my personal trainer. All in all, the amenities are well renovated, the staff is very sweet, and we enjoyed spending time together here. We look forward to visiting many more times to come. read more

I feel as though this place has established itself as a staple in the area for hungry tourists, especially Sight & Sound goers. I enjoyed my lunch here. The buffet had plenty of options to pick from. I wasn't wow'ed by the food, but it was definitely tasty! I'd say typical buffet type food, but with ample options and lots of seating. Disappointed. We used to come here all the time prior to the fire and loved it. Don't get me wrong, the building is beautiful but the food selection and quality has gone way down. Not to mention a much higher price. A lot of my favorites they used to have were gone and what they did have was very mediocre. I really hope they fix this and bring back all the delicious food they used to have! We were so excited to visit the buffet after they reopened. This was our favorite place to eat prior to the fire. Unfortunately the quality of their food has taken a turn for the worst. Let's start with the positive. The new building is beautiful, bright and inviting. The dining area and shops look amazing. Now to the bad part, the food. Do not get anything from the grill, it is not worth the wait. The food is precooked and heated on the grill while you wait and there is a wait. We got the parmesan chicken and it had no flavor. It tasted like over boiled chicken with no flavor. The burger we ordered was huge but very pink and raw in the middle, yuck. The buttered noodles were over cooked and mush. The fried chicken was hard and dry. Even the garlic knots were hard, like eating rocks. We are local and have a discount card and for 5 of us with discount was $140 and a $30 tip it was still a huge waste of money. We are so sad to see this place we loved so much, go so far down. I pray they work out their issues and get back to serving the amazing food they once did. Our waitress was great. read more

I'm not a mean person but I cannot leave better than one star. The food was AWFUL! So so bad. Smelly, rancid- tasting shrimp, shoe leather-like roast beef. Everything was over cooked and either completely bland or tasted like a salt lick. Soft serve was yummy, the other deserts were lousy. A supermarket pie would be better. I wound up eating a baked potato and a bunch of cucumber. For $27. Very pleasant staff. read more

Recently went there after the rebuild and it was an absolute disappointment. The server was good and the salad was ok, but nothing special. After that it was all downhill, the food was terrible. I will just give few examples to give an idea. The peeled type shrimp was actually mushy, how they could serve it that was is beyond me. The chicken was all totally died out. The so called beef was inedible. I tried the grill hoping maybe that would be better. Asked for a chicken parmigiana and they took a piece of cooked chicken from the refrigerator and put it on the grill, put some cheese o top and than when done added some type of red sauce. The cheese was totally burnt. I will be sure to avoid next time I am in the area. read more

The cost was horrendous for a Sunday! So we opted for the potato/salad/bread bar. The soup was ok. I had the chili and the ground burger was like they recycled slices of meatloaf. The potatoes bar.. need to cut your own potato to stuff it. The condiments for the potato is at the salad bar, the butter is by the bread which I learned after the fact. If you want an Amish experience I definitely recommend this place. It's in the heart of amish country surrounded by different farms and Amish restaurants. I loved the little petting zoo here. You can buy food to feed the animals. But the best part about this place was customer service. Every single person here was amazing and went above and beyond to help accommodate my heart condition when I requested a late check out due to my heart condition acting up. As a person who visits the area each year I was so excited to stay at this location for their restaurant and hotel. I booked back in January and 2 days before my stay in May I received a message that the restaurant burned down in January and is closed Talk about disappointed!! Why wasn't I informed of this in January, feb, March or April?!? Anyway I decided to still go (no choice at this point). I booked a balcony king room for my husband and I and as soon as we walked in we noticed a stench of an odor. I figured the place is old so I opened the patio door for fresh air. Yet still - the stench was there. After a bit of investigating I found a garbage pail in the bathroom nestled between the wall and vanity filled with garbage including withered cut up fruit!! Bingo! The source of the odor was located. I immediately contacted the front desk and the attendant was super kind and offered to have our room cleaned. she visited our room to check in on the cleaning and offered us a 1 night upgrade down the hall. We declined since our stay was only 2 days , I did not want to get settled in one room and pack up the next day to move back in the room we originally booked. We were also given complimentary ice cream smoothie vouchers. Although the restaurant burned down they did their best to offer hot breakfast in 2 rooms they converted into sitting areas. It was interesting to say the least but did not have the vibe we were expecting. If visiting sights and sounds theatre the location is superb with a walking trail right to the theatre. Also, we enjoyed feeding the animals on the property. The staff were all super friendly and kind. A bit skimpy on the toiletries - but it is expected that you bring your own. I gave this place a 3 due to not being told earlier about the restaurant being closed and the uncleaned bathroom upon our arrival. Also the barn designed door to the bathroom would not stay closed , my husband realized it was the wrong sized door. The hallways and staircase reminded me of prison (where I've worked many years) appearing institutionalized with the grey and white concrete cinderblock walls. I hear the restaurant will be back in 2024 and hopefully better than ever. The overall price is not on the lower end so I would expect a clean room upon arrival. I hope to maybe one day return should things improve. The restaurant is NOT OPEN- and I repeat- the staff were gracious and kind. read more

The food was out of this world good. I went for the fried chicken a few times because the breading was on point and the chicken was juicy. The shrimp and mussels are phenomenal. My review is on the restaurant buffet only. The place is beautifully redone since the fire; the style and furnishing are very nice. The food was......just ok. For what it was, it was extremely overpriced. The food quality was not worth $40.00 per person. The prime rib was good, but a lot of the dishes were cold and just subpar. The fried chicken was dry, the potatoes were instant and some of the desserts were unappealing; meaning they emptied the previous tray and smooshed the leftover into the next one making it a tray of mush. Also, the host took us to the table and never said a thing. We weren't sure if we were to wait for a server to come and give us instructions to go to the buffet or just head right on up. We had to wait a while for a server to take our drink order and explain the buffet. The host should have told us a server would be with us shortly. We were left wondering what to do. We were there at 3:30 in the afternoon so it was quite empty. I just really expected an outstanding buffet for $40.00 a person; sadly it definitely was not worth the price. read more

Today was my first time back since the tragic fire. The new building is stunning to say the least. We came for the restaurant which had a fifteen minute wait, which wasn't a problem. We looked around the shops for a little bit, obviously we had to get some whoopie pies on our way out. The service at the restaurant was immaculate. Anytime you finished a plate, unlike most buffet style restaurants, you had no time to stack plates. The staff was always coming around and getting them out of your way, and always making sure your drink is full. The food was FANTASTIC. The cheesesteak was even better than before. I also had the meatballs, garlic potatoes, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with the beef gravy, chicken alfredo, buttered noodles, and fried chicken. All of which were delicious. Went for breakfast on Saturday it was not busy but the service staff was slow and invisible and the food was really bad and very cold

We picked this place because the room had a balcony and it was also advertised that they have a restaurant and a shop, which are open everyday at reg. hours except Mon. evenings. The farm is nice but the room's balcony was really dirty. We tried to clean it with water bottles, it was full of bugs and spider nets. We couldn't relax. They are extremely short of staff and therefore nothing is running as it's supposed to be. We checked in on Sunday and checked out on Wed. Sunday the restaurant was closed for dinner. Mon. breakfast was the smaller/modified version & it was betw. 8-10AM (we called before we book this place to ask about the restaurant and they didn't mention it would be modified breakfast.) The restaurant was closed for both Sun. and Mon. after breakfast so we couldn't try the Smorgasbord, also it was extremely difficult and stressful to find a place open at this region. When we asked for recommendations at the front desk, they couldn't give us 1 restaurant name that is open. On Tues, the full breakfast was delicious (reg. hours 8-10:45AM). I especially loved the sticky buns, baked french toast and enjoyed the omelette. The pies were a little stale. For Tues night (our last night), we were thinking that finally we won't have to look for a place to eat. We were looking forward to enjoying the dinner at the inn. The hours were a lie! At noon, they left me a voicemail saying that the restaurant would close early at 3:00PM and the next day would be smaller breakfast (mod. hrs). We are very disappointed that we only had the full breakfast for 1 day (Tues.) and the restaurant was closed for dinner all of the nights we were there. The room's toilet seat is very old and dirty, it needs to be replaced! The balcony is in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. The pool was dirty esp. on our 1st day. Pool area and the seats are really nice but all of the pool towels we asked for on the 1st day had stains on them. Beautiful farm but it needs a lot of work. read more
