Rented thru Hertz App a Jeep Cherokee or similar showed up and were assigned a car that was according to them Q4 class but ended up with a ford that couldn't fit any suitcases in its trunk. I could upgrade for 15 bucks a day and that's the best they could do. Sorry. That's just bad customer service. It's a franchise location and employees are obviously not empowered to problem solve and provide excellent customer service. read more

Stopped at the counter to return my vehicle during normal business hours. I was returning the car timely after a 3-day rental. When I arrived at the counter, there was nobody to be seen. So I waited, and waited... eventually I saw a key drop at the counter and utilized that to return my key. The next morning, I wake up to an electronic receipt for a charge of $68 for an extra day. I call the location and speak to Jeff (I believe he was a manager) and explain I was overcharged even though I returned the car the night before. He immediately says to me, "Well, I have no idea when you returned the car." I immediately sensed a scam here to I say to him, "The reason you don't know is because you don't have staff at your counter. I returned it the night before and I can't stand at the counter all night waiting for your employees to show up. I had a flight to catch." He says, "Oh okay. I guess my staff was probably just busy huh?" Attempting to downplay his initial remark. To which I said, "I don't know where your staff were. You're the manager and it's your job to know. I returned the car on time and I want the charge reversed." He hung up on me. Yes, he hung up on me. Watch out for Jeff and smug managers at this Hertz location trying to screw you out of an extra day thinking you won't pay attention. Do NOT rent from this Hertz. Like others here, my husband and I reserved a car for last night at around 10:30pm. We had an appointment in Denver, CO the next afternoon and it was not possible to take my car. We decided to reserve a car that would be about half the cost to drive the 18 hours round trip. When we arrived to the counter NO ONE was there. In fact none of the rental company counters were open besides Enterprise. We tried calling the number (which, of course was the number for the counter) to no avail. After returning to our car and waiting for several minutes to see if someone would come out of the woodwork to help us with our RESERVATION, we approached the man from Enterprise who was just leaving for the night (at 11:00pm, mind you when the hours say 11:30). He said they only had an SUV and a pickup on the lot, neither of which had better gas mileage than my own vehicle. The next morning we call the Hertz counter and although the weekend manager gave us an apology, he also told us that their policy is that they close the counter after the last flight arrived. He then said that they didn't have any contact information for us in their system yet we received a confirmation EMAIL from Hertz with all of our personal information that would have been sent to the Hertz representative. If you have an opportunity, read all of the reviews before you rent. We are not the only ones that have experienced this same issue. We were forced to return home and missed our appointment in Colorado this afternoon. VERY disappointed. If negative stars were possible, I would use several of them. If you were to go to their website, the hours extend until 11:30pm. We were there well before then. According to the representative, they close whenever they want after the last flight arrives. However it also states that they have after hours pickup and drop off as well. You may be able to drop it off through a drop slot??? but you will NOT be able to pick up. read more

Ok I'm 63 and obviously bought a lot of cars in my life. We have six children, so a lot of car buying experiences. This is the nicest, easiest experience yet. Our salesman Carlos was extremely helpful and laid back and not an iota pushy. He knew his cars and had been with the company for over 15 years. He gave several carfax reports in the Yukon xl's I was looking at. I ended up with a Yukon XL that had 15k miles looked like new And was $3k to $4k less than dealerships in Rexburg and Idaho Falls. No one ever pushed after I said no to a warranty or protection. Just an easy business like transaction. No hype and pressure! read more

My husband was in a wreck on a Friday and discussed being able to get a rental car from Hertz in Idaho Falls with a State Farm agent. After sending over the request the State Farm agent said he would recieve a call from Hertz on Saturday. After waiting for the call we decided to call them ourselves both Saturday and Sunday and no one ever answered. My husband called 7 times! No answer. Finally we just went over to talk to someone and they told my husband they did not have any cars available and to try back on TUESDAY! So, we waited, called again on Tuesday, no answer. Called again, "oh we won't have any cars available for you until Thursday or Friday". We decided to call the State Farm agent and request a different car service. They sent over information to Enterprise and we had a call within 5 minutes telling us a car would be ready for us in 1 hour. read more

My friends and I made a reservation online to rent an suv for our ski trip. Online, we were given a quote based on our driver and his AAA membership. All we had to do was pay when we picked up the car and drive. We are from New Hampshire, so we were relying on this car as our transportation to our hotel and back. Upon arrival at the Hertz kiosk we were told that we needed a credit card on file for the rental. No problem, we all offer our cards. This didn't solve anything. According to the lady at the counter, we had to be 25 to rent any car, even though Hertz knew we were 23 when we made the reservation. Apparently, "only certain locations accept under 25 renters." The lady who "helped" us basically just kept telling us "no" and there was no way to get a car from Hertz. No problem, we walked 10 feet to the left to the Enterprise kiosk. Got a car in 15 minutes from a friendly helpful man. Will be making reservations with Enterprise from now on. read more
