Horrible customer service. I called many times to ask questions about my rental to be placed on hold then purposely hung up on many times. I did not realize it was so challenging to answer questions about a rental and then so easy to hang up on me. Wow! Superior customer service skills, I must say. Which is why I am canceling my rental here and will do my best to never rent with them again. You sure know how to give that superior customer service to make customers feel appreciated. I rented a car to go to my brothers funeral. My younger healthy brother who died unexpectedly. They called me a few hours before pick up to say no cars are available. I've called and called to no avail. I can't get anyone to help. It's bad enough to deal a death but now I can't get a refund for a car that I didn't rent. They charged $400 two weeks ago and I still haven't received the refund. I'm exhausted and don't know what else they expect me to do. read more

Hertz rental has been responsive and affordable for me. We rent for out of state road trips and accumulate Gold Reward miles. They've picked me up from the office and dropped me at home. Very convenient. Only critique the website advertises 24/7 pickup and drop off . online reservation won't accept weekend drop off time which means I get charged for another day. read more

Awful service! Today I reserved a car online for pick up @ 5:00 PM, when I arrive one agent is busy helping a customer the other 2 agents just walk around and act like they're working. I'l wait for about 15minutes, I booked online and checked in online also, thinking this will go quick! When I finally get an agent to help me I'm being told that they have no vehicles available at the moment and asked me if I could come back in the morning! I told the young lady that I needed the car today since I was leaving early the next morning. I asked the Agent how it is possible to book a car online and then not have ANY vehicle available? She replied its a corporate thing and that they have not control over it! The attitude displayed at this location towards paying customers is atrocious! I've rented from Hertz in the past and received great service, I will not rent from Hertz again. read more

2 weeks ago I arranged a pickup at this location through my insurance company due to vehicle repair. The morning of my appointment I called and was told to wait approximately 8hrs until a vehicle was available even though I pre-planned this with a confirmation #. They wanted me to wait for 8 hrs until a vehicle was ready because they were not prepared, the manager did not even put forth the effort to help and instead I played "phone tag" and never got any results from them, no one ever called me back and I ended with my wife, an infant, and two kids waiting at the repair shop. Luckily the repair shop was nice helped arrange my services with a different rental agency. Whoever worked that day, my family thank you!! read more

I made a reservation at this location while visiting Augusta, after receiving a Hertz confirmation # I took a uber from my hotel to location, upon arrival I was informed that they have no cars available, and I would be #7 in line for standby if cars are returned. After seeing that there is no hope, I asked if they would be able to take me back to the hotel so I don't have to spend another 13 dollars for a cab, they advised me that my hotel was 6 miles from location and they are only allowed 5 miles! After posting about this experience on Twitter, I was contacted by a manager out of Atlanta, he said that he's in charge of this area, he swore that they would be in touch with me by 10am the next morning and have a car for me, they never called, never got a car for me, lie after lie. At 1pm the following day after realizing that I won't get a car from them, I ended up renting at Alamo, what a world of difference! I won't be using Hertz again. STAY AWAY! read more

Stopped by a day early to see if they knew what car I would have (my husband is pretty tall--6'3", 230#) Rondell said he would save me a Toyota (Make that I preferred) if one came in. When my husband and I came by to pick up the next morning, they had not received a Toyota in; however, to try his best to please, Rondell took us out to the lot to pick the vehicle we thought would work best for us. We were on the road less than 10 minutes after that. Randell gets 5 stars for his personality, smile, courtesy and professionalism. He puts the customer first. Next time I need a car, I will be coming back to this location. read more

After 12 years as a business and personal renter I am saddened to say that we will NEVER use Hertz again. The woman behind the counter is a bold face LIAR!! She tried to charge us a cleaning fee. When I went in to speak to her about the situation. She said my husband said we transported our dog to the groomers in the car.... NOT!! We own Rottweilers they are not white but the hair she was supposedly claiming was white fine hair. Mind you the week before we received a car that smelled bad like it came out of a swamp. They did nothing. Additionally, they try to add additional charges we did not approve this has happened twice!! NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ THEY WILL LIE AND ROB YOU BLIND!! The woman also had a very negative and derogatory attitude and because she lied to our faces she is untrustworthy and I would be very hesitant to use my credit card around her!! read more

My wife and I booked our car online about a week in advance. When we showed up to pick up our car, we were told that no cars were available. We waited for cars to become available. We were then told that we could not pay with a debit card, because we didn't have a "company code." We said we weren't with a company, we were renting as private individuals, and we didn't have a credit card. Finally, we had to look it up online to find out what the Hertz employee was talking about, because he was incompetent and couldn't explain his own company's policy. He was referring to a number provided by your insurance company (common practice for car rentals). That's all he had to say, but he made it sound like we were out of options and simply couldn't rent a car. At long last, we called our insurance company, got a number, and paid for the car with a debit card. We were then told that only one of us could drive unless we paid an additional $14/day for our 10-day rental, almost doubling the cost! So I had to drive the ENTIRE trip (about 42 hours of driving in 10 days) by myself, which might have been okay if they had at least made us aware of that policy beforehand! When we turned the car in (washed and with a full tank), we were charged $33 two days later, for $9 in toll fees and a $24 "toll fee paying service" that Hertz "offers." Worst of all, WE HAD ALREADY PAID OUR TOLLS ONLINE! When we called, they said they would need to see the receipts, and they could refund the $9, but the $24 could not be refunded. No one at the company ever even told us about this "service" they offer, and if they had, we would have said "no thanks!" We have been told that they will refund us $19 (by what math, I have no idea, but I said okay just to be done with it). I'm still waiting for that $19... Hertz is a terrible company. They do not inform their customers of their own products and "services" (read "rip-offs"), and even worse, they don't seem to inform their employees, because the guy who initially rented us our car was clueless. Terrible, terrible experience. DO NOT USE HERTZ. read more

RENTERS BEWARE!! THEY WILL APPLY SMOKING AND GAS CHARGES. They charged me for smoking because of a mark outside the car but the car did NOT smell of smoke and there were no ashes. They also charged me for gas even though I bought it back at the 4/8 mark. I spoke to LaTanya, another Hertz representative, who verified the vehicle was returned with correct amount of gas. She was the only professional person there. Brad was very unprofessional and so was the manager Lavell. I called and left several messages for Lavell, the manager, and he has never returned my call. Hertz never gave me a courtesy ride to my car, which they did when I first rented it. My car was being repaired at CarMax. They left me standing outside the office watching them close for the day. It was raining and cold and I am from another state and didn't have a car to get to my car. I was so upset. I will NEVER EVER RENT A CAR FROM HERTZ ON WASHINGTON RD. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISHONEST. RENTERS BEWARE go to ENTERPRISE DOWN THE ROAD. read more
