The expectations of good service is location dependent. We rented a standard size car online at one location only to find out all they had available when we arrived was a compact car. Another location would not honor the online price. A second location was very helpful getting us an suv because they didn't have a standard sedan available. They even let us drop the rental at our body shop and they would pick it up. Be advised that non-airport locations will not always have the car you may want. read more

I have been a Hertz Gold Member for many years and got tired of renting from airports BOS and PVD. I rented from this location from Dec 1-10, 2020 and from pick up to return, I've never experienced such amazing customer service. Picking up the car was efficient and professional and I was recognized as a Gold Member and upgraded as a result. But the upgrade isn't the only reason for this positive review. The communication and appreciation for being a loyal Hertz customer won me over and I will use this Brockton Neighborhood location moving forward. Keep up the good work! Absolutely worst rental place I have ever rented from do not go there. I had an insurance claim rental with them they give absolutely no type of courtesy call for when the car is due back, car was not cleaned upon pick up and way overdue for service I was skeptical driving it the entire time, it had no window washing fluid or any other general maintenance up to date. I dropped it off at the auto body shop where I picked up my vehicle which as we know pretty much every single rental place allows you to do. Ended up charging me $1000 for a mere 1 1/2 weeks of having it overdue to to no one informing me it was due back even charged an extra week after I dropped it off at the body shop. When I called to sort out why I was charged and to be refunded the money the manager there was a total b***h hung up on me and refused to answer because when I called the reception was distorted so I was talking loud so they could hear also because I was in the car so I then had to drive all the way down there manager was still a complete C you next Tuesday the entire time so I yelled at her when leaving her 2 soft as melon employees then try to incite a physical altercation with me on the property they are lucky I didn't file charges completely unprofessional and disgusted by my treatment there wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy currently having a lawyer handle it now do yourself a favor and steer clear of read more

Every single time we go to rent a vehicle from here we do not get the vehicle that we intended to rent and we pay an excessive amount of money and then we get there and they tell us that that vehicle is no longer there. Now we double checked in triple checked to make sure that we were going to get the vehicle that we wanted we are once again getting screwed then on top of that whole situation we're getting some other type of vehicle that isn't a Volkswagen Jetta it's something that they think is equivalent which is a Chevy or a Nissan which is definitely not equivalent to a Volkswagen.Brockton's AC is down so they are sending everybody to Randolph now. They didn't offer any money for compensation of gas they didn't offer any compensation at all yet this is really really ridiculous it's completely out of line. Horrible customer service. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! (You have to rate anything you post at least a 1) Hertz car rental on Main St in Brockton absolutely SUCKS!!! They are trying to screw over my daughter for damages (side piece of door missing) for $1400. This was missing when she picked up the car. Hertz took pictures and are now claiming they switched over computer systems and can't produce the pictures. They don't call you back. You have to keep calling them. They lie who the manager is and won't connect you. They had her call 3 different places and they all referred her back to the Brockton Hertz. So where are the pictures of the previous renter of this vehicle when they turned it in and the piece on the door was also missing??? Sounds like a BIG FUCKING SCAM. Terrible, awful experience at this Hertz location. Beginning with the fact that they take advantage of their customers and are extremely unethical, to their terrible customer service. After coming in after a very bad car accident I was asked to fill out paperwork in order to get my rental car from Hertz. Expecting this, I compiled and was asked if I would like to purchase the tank of gas at $2.50 a gallon that was in the car right now. I asked the woman helping me if I had to, and what the rules were about returning the car of it is not full and you have not purchased the gas. She told me it was $2.50 a gallon if I don't bring it back full, and I would be charged if I had pets or smoked in the car. I completely agreed and went on using my rental for the week while my car got repaired. When I brought my car back the tank was not full, it was about 3/4th full. So I expected a small refill charge of 10-20.00. I had close to a 100.00 charge on my debit card the following day. When I called to inquire I was called "Hun" every time I was spoken to by a very condescending woman. She proceeded to let me know it was 10.00 a gallon if the car is not full. I told her the woman who checked me in told me it was 2.50 and I would NEVER have brought it back with a little gas missing if I had ever known! She continued to raise her voice to me, and wouldn't let me speak to her boss so we could deal with the situation. No one from the location ever called me back after i was clearly upset and it was a misunderstanding on their part for the charge. Basically, they took advantage of me after I came in flustered after a bad car accident and never notified me in person about the outrageous charge per gallon of gas it would be. If any person knew this, including myself, would ever bring a car back to Them missing any gas at all. It was very unethical. To top it off, they spoke to me condescendingly and never returned my phone calls. I have filed a formal complaint through hertz corporate and hope this issue can be settled. I have used many car rental services in the past and never had a problem like this. I never complain about anything like this either, but the way I was treated was very upsetting and not right at all. read more

Let me be clear-there are 4 stars for customer service only. The 5th star is missing because of Hertz Corporation's rental prices...but they are comparable to other rental locations. The customer service here is primarily due to Jaisa and her knowledge of every and any situation that comes up with renting. She is excellent. Having rented for years I have, unfortunately, some experience with other companies (Enterprise) that was negative. I have been treated rudely at other rental companies so when I called her and then drove (out of my way) to rent two cars, I was shocked at her cheerfulness and kindness. My husband and I had the worst experience at Hertz in Brockton on Main St. The customer service was just the beginning of this nightmare. We booked well in advance only to receive a phone call the day before Christmas Eve asking if we still wanted our rental and was blatantly answered with "ok, now we have to go find one" and click, was hung up on. The vehicle was obviously used for a personal SUV. It was disgusting!! But, we were leaving Christmas morning to head to Florida and nothing else was available Christmas Eve. None of the features that were supposed to be available worked, the service car light came on after having it for one day, it had a dent on the door which we had to SLAM to close it, there were candy wrappers, children's toys, and what looked like yogurt stains (I can only hope) on the the interior doors. I was quoted a price online, which I had to argue with the girl who was charging $600 more. Needless to say, we had to trade the vehicle in when we got to Florida. We had to downgrade because it was a holiday week and nothing was available. I spent two days of my vacation trying to exchange my rental only to be stuck with a midsize SUV to carry 7 people and luggage around. I WILL NEVER USE HERTZ CAR RENTAL AGAIN!! Worst customer service. I have rented cars in the past and have never been treated so poorly. The employees at the Brockton office do not care at all about their jobs or customers, and the management is rude. I am honestly shocked they are still in service. After being in a terrible accident where I was stopped at a red light, this was NOT what I expected to deal with. I was told I had two options for my rental: insurance plan A and insurance plan B. I said I already have insurance, and the salesman said I had to initial for one of them. SCAM. I cancelled the insurance the next day and was assured multiple times that I would not be charged for it. At the end of my rental they harassed me daily, calling to say that I owe them money even though the other person's insurance was supposed to pick it up. A few weeks later, I was charged $1300 without any notice, and was treated like an inconvenience by management and employees in brockton when I inquired about it. I did not approve this payment, and Hertz never let me know they would be charging me. Come to find out, $789 of that was for insurance, which I was told I would not be charged for. The manager at Brockton did not even apologize for their mistake, and was very rude to me. I have yet to get refunded. Still waiting for the other person's insurance to pick up the rest, which I have personally had to deal with. Hertz says it is against their policy to contact insurance companies... I know for a fact other rental companies will call for you. The entire process has been a nightmare thanks to the lack of customer service at Hertz in Brockton. Considering the accident was 100% the other person's fault, I am in shock of how difficult Hertz has made this for me. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE.
