First of all, the address is wrong because they moved to 602 State Rd 50 in Clermont from this location. They probably moved and didn't change it online because this is a terrible business. I had to rent a car through no fault of my own through Ford because they had an issue with my truck. Ford paid for the rental. Ford and this Hertz have a contract which allows the person renting the car to leave the car with Ford for convienence, which is nice. However, what they don't tell you at Hertz is that if they are short staffed and have nobody to pick up the car the day you drop it off at Ford they charge you the customer a daily charge until they pick it up and put it back in their system. This is bad business. I spoke to the manager there named, Jamal Harris, and he basically tried to rush me out like they didn't do anything wrong. Customers shouldn't have to pay for their shortcomings. If I hadn't had the money I would have overdrafted and then I would have to pay my bank because they can't keep a staff of drivers at a car rental place. Ridiculous. First time using a local Hertz location, and my experience was very professional ,on time ,and very easy. The car was clean and exactly as pictured. Being a gold member definitely has its perks and although I may have gotten a better rate at the airport, I would prefer, this location due to having a more personal touch to it when it comes to customer service. Rented car from the Cleremont FL location. Although the staff was nice, I was given a garbage car. I picked up the car that was not ready and was told there were no other cars to exchange it with. The car was dirty inside and out and smelled like cigarette smoke. I prepaid online and was charged again for the disgusting car. I have contacted Hertz multiple times. They still have not resolved the issue of being charged twice 3 weeks later. They took off a small amount because I have called Hertz 5 different times to complain about the condition of the car & being over charged. Hertz customer service does not care. If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely worst experience I have ever had at a car rental facility. If you use credit cards with a chip, avoid this place. They will not accept it. Everyone knows if you try 3 times with the chip it allows you to use the swipe feature. Well, here if you try 2 times you get locked out of the Hertz system and will be unable to rent a car. Don't even try to call customer service, you'll be on hold for a ludicrous amount of time, and they can't fix anything. Each individual branch is run like a franchise. There is nothing that corporate can do. Don't even expect to pick up your car at a set time, likely add 1.5 hours to your expected time, that's more likely. Was given a low rental fee or manager's choice as they call it. The clerk came out with keys saying sometimes the car may not be quite what we wanted. Boy was he right. The car was a Tesla. I asked him how was I going to charge it up, and he told me just use a wall outlet. I told him I don't have one in the parking area. Plus, it would need charging halfway through my trip. There are no chargers convenient on the road and it would take too long to charge. He had no other options as other cars were spoken for. I said switch with someone else he said he couldn't. We booked our reservation through American Express and received a nice discount. The car was exactly what we expected. Most importantly it was clean and order free. I would have rated them five stars but I was put off by their employee. He lacked energy and showed no enthusiasm or emotion of any kind. Nothing.....he was just blah...almost like a robot. A kiosk would have rendered the same results. I feel as though some effort should be made to personalize your customers experience if you want to be considered great. UPDATE..... UGH!!!!...3 days in and the car broke down...took 4 hours to trade out... given a lower quality car... another 4 hours of making contacts within the company and received an upgrade... Hertz is usually very good to deal with. I've rented everything from compact car to tractor trailers. Rented a cargo van today that was clean and nice but when I got a mile down the road the low fuel light came on. Less than 1/8th of a rank. I've never returned a rental without topping it off as they charge crazy prices if they have to fill it so I didn't think to look. When I returned with a 1/4th of a tank I asked the girl why it wasn't fueled and she said it came in from the airport. What does that have to do with fueling a vehicle. Probably a hundred conveniently located gas stations between clermont and the airport. I heard I'm sorry 5 or 6 times which is usual for the snowflake crowd. Apologize and it goes away. read more

Probably one of the slowest Hertz places in the US. Cars are usually clean and low mileage but the service is awful. I have been a loyal Hertz renter for years but I am starting to look at other places as this location can't pull it together. There is either one agent playing on his iphone, a sign on the door that they will be back shortly or no one at the front desk. I went in Friday to return a car and there were four people waiting. Horrible service, vehicle was 3 hours late and were unable to enter my discount. Was told vehicle was ready and then they tell me that the vehicle just arrived and that they had to clean it on top of the 3 hour wait. Detailing is not well done either. They only had 1 guy booking running to get car and gas then come back while in the location there was 7 people waiting. Horrible experience - had over 6 cars during the rental period. Nearly all of them were poorly maintained. The wait time for picking up and dropping off was a minimum of 2 hours and the office was understaffed and overworked, surly and inattentive to details. The majority of paperwork that I actually received was incomplete - and, for several of the cars I didn't even get paperwork. There was no explanation of the toll charges when I received the first car and none thereafter - and, even when reviewing the toll charges the tolls billed to me after the rental period was over, the charges were for a car I wasn't in - in NEW JERSEY for more than $300!! I've spent more time on correcting their bills and following up than the employees have - I will NEVER rent from Hertz again, and if you have a choice DO NOT go to the Clermont, FL branch. Worst rental car experience I've ever had. Not only did they not have the vehicle type I reserved, the vehicle I had to settle for was FILTHY. In light of Covid you would think they'd go to extra lengths to make sure every vehicle is sanitary and clean. When I realized how dirty the vehicle was the location was closed so I couldn't drive back to return it and we were leaving for vacation the next day. I spent hours on the phone trying to get another vehicle and was told to submit a form on line. Every time I tried I received an error notification that said the site was down. I finally spoke to a live person from Roadside Assistance who said they'd swap out the vehicle but sat on hold for 20 minutes. We were leaving for vacation so time was limited. We had no choice but to detail the vehicle ourselves. My husband ended up shampooing one of the mats with what appeared to be a stain of vomit. There was trash in the consoles, potato chip crumbs and sand everywhere. To top it off there was a GIANT DEAD ROACH in the cup holder in the back of the vehicle. I sent an email to the customer relations email address and was told I'd receive a response in 5-7 business days. I never received a response. When we returned the vehicle I showed pictures of the filth, outlined the issues and requested a refund. I was told that wasn't possible since I prepaid for the rental. I was offered a voucher for another rental and given the 800 number for customer relations and billing. When I called the 800 number I was told by a customer relations agent to send an email with photos. I told her I already did that. No one had ever looked at my email. After she found the email she told me I couldn't receive a refund. She transferred me to her manager and he told me the policy didn't allow for a refund since I prepaid for the rental and wasn't a loyalty member. I was offered another rental voucher which is useless because I will never rent from Hertz again. read more

Tried to get car exchanged was told by Wanda, office is small, they have no other cars or upgrades for me and to contact another Hertz at the airport see if they can rectify the problem.
