I had to rent a car through no fault of my own through Ford because they had an issue with my truck. Ford paid for the rental. Ford and this Hertz have a contract which allows the person renting the car to leave the car with Ford for convienence, which is nice. However, what they don't tell you at Hertz is that if they are short staffed and have nobody to pick up the car the day you drop it off at Ford they charge you the customer a daily charge until they pick it up and put it back in their system. This is bad business. I spoke to the manager there named, Jamal Harris, and he basically tried to rush me out like they didn't do anything wrong. Customers shouldn't have to pay for their shortcomings. If I hadn't had the money I would have overdrafted and then I would have to pay my bank because they can't keep a staff of drivers at a car rental place. Ridiculous. If you don't want a headache, please don't rent from this location. Terrible.

Any last-minute change creates real medical risk for someone of her age and condition. The Florida inventory manager who contacted me was dismissive, rude, and showed zero empathy. When I asked to speak with a manager, he hung up on me. During the call, he explicitly stated that they were "too busy with fleet and commercial rentals" and made it clear that my residential move was not important to them. As a result of Budget's last-minute cancellation, my family was forced into an emergency replacement move at more than double the cost, solely to avoid further disruption to a 103-year-old hospice patient who cannot tolerate unnecessary stress, delays, or instability. This experience was not just inconvenient--it was irresponsible and inhumane. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic human decency displayed by Budget Truck Rental is unacceptable. Budget Truck Rental cannot be trusted, particularly for time-sensitive or medically critical moves.
