I would leave 1 start if I could. I had a business rental of a Nissan Sentra at a rate of $171/week for a month. We were going to be a day late so we called and let them know they said ok no problem and then we get a charge for $5196! $4513 over the agreement price for 1 day that they already knew about! Horrible place to rent a car, want to charge an extra day of rental because they did not check the over night drop off box the day after. So the car was returned the day before the rental agreement and they called me to tell me that I returned it late because "the key just showed up a day late in the drop off box!!!!!!! Just like that" then they have the audacity to accused me of smoking in the car when neither my husband or myself smoke!!! Holiday Inn should reconsider renewing their contract. read more

The worst rental car experience I had. Nicole does not know what she is doing! Although she is polite she is forgetful. Did not call to say what car would be available before pick up. Was rude to my wife and asked proof of her coverage when it was State Farm who reserved the rental since her car was getting repaired. The car was smaller than what was booked. Extremely rude and absolutely no consideration for others. Three strikes and you're out. Strike 1: 30 min before I was supposed to pick up my car they call me and tell me that they have nothing for me. I was livid. You call me 30 min before I'm supposed to pick up a car that I've had reserved for at least a month and you don't have anything for me????? The guy I spoke with was rude, couldn't give me a straight answer and just had an "oh well" attitude. I have to schedule resources for my job and I know the night before if I'm going to have a delay and call the customer ASAP to let them know. If they would have called me the night before and said they didn't have anything that would have eased the blow rather than calling me 30 mins before. When I got there they still didn't have my reserved class so I took an SUV and told them to deal with it. Strike 2: Rented a car again from them two weeks ago. Complete piece of crap. Tire pressure all off, warning lights flashing on the dash...no windshield wiper fluid. F' it....at this point who cares about the fact I'm a Club Gold member anyway... Strike 3: Had a reservation for the holiday weekend...again, reserved online guy calls me and says there was a "glitch" in the system and I'd have to change up my days. Told him that I would look at my schedule and call them back. So a few days later I go and modify my reservation and its cancelled I call Hertz and all I get is I don't know how that happened. Well....I don't know how it happened that I just completed my reservation with Enterprise. I'll drive the extra 10 miles to get better customer service. Absolutely worst place to rent a car from! Wish that I could give zero stars for poor customer service! Not only do they inaccurately report the level of the fuel in the tank, they NEVER return any calls as promised. I was charged a $17 fuel charge for returning the car to a location just the same as we picked it up. After calling and speaking with Nicole twice and being promised a call back from her boss twice, I was never contacted. And now I have to come up with the extra $17 to pay my credit card bill while Hertz processes my refund-this takes 5-7 business days... Nicole inaccurately reported the fuel level in the car and thanks to her I now have to argue over the charge even with proof of filling up... DO NOT rent a car from this location! You will get screwed and lied to about being called back if you have an issue! read more

I needed to reserve a car because my car had to be in the shop longer than expected. I logged on to the website, reserved the care, got the confirmation email with no problems. Got a call the next morning from the location telling me that they could not fulfill my reservation as they were sold out. She had no suggestions or alternatives, just "sorry" and blamed the website. It's bad enough that they are located at a hotel and have HORRIBLE hours, but to take a reservation and be told "sorry", NOT COOL. I don't rent cars often and this is the first time I've ever tried to rent from Hertz. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! read more

Worst rental experience. I get a rental car from this company in Colorado Springs because they are connected with my car insurance. My budget for my rental from the company was $16 per day. When I got there, I rented the lowest car price which is only $14.28 per day. To my surprise at the end of the rental period which is almost a month, I still received a charge from them in addition to my insurance. So I ask them, what is my charge per day? And they computed it to be $18.33 per day. So I ask them how come it becomes $18.33 per day when I only rented $14.28 per day, and their response is because of tax and other fees. So I ask how many percents are the tax and other fees? They showed me a tax of 11.23 % and other fees 2%. So I computed it, and the result is that only $1.88 should be added to the original price of $14.28, to make the total charge of $16.16 dollars per day. But they are charging me $18.33 per day. They cannot show me what are those other other charges. read more

If I could give a negative review I would with unbelievable poor customer service my family experienced with Kristen at Hertz in Crystal lake Il. My daughter was in a car accident and was told by the insurance company that they reserved and paid for a car at Hertz. First, they get there and Kristen did not greet them or welcome them in anyway. Then she tells them that they did not have a compact car that was reserved and that my daughter would have to pay the difference. Why did they not call us before we came there? My daughter should not have to pay anything the accident was not her fault and was fully covered by insurance. Kristen would not call another location for them to see if we could pick up a car that was reserved or even give us a number to call. She basically flat out said no and that my family would have to do all of that. She wouldn't even call the insurance company she told my husband to call. He called and they increased the daily allowance. She was rude and very confrontational and unhelpful. She made my husband and daughter feel very uncomfortable and as if they were bothering her and they just came to the place they were told to go. She was very rude and uncooperative when I called to get the corporate number. She reluctantly gave me the 800 reservation number (which clearly is not the right one) and refused to give her last name. She knows she was in the wrong but didn't really seem to care. Why is she working there if she can not give an ounce of decent service? I will and have never went to Hertz to rent a car and always used Enterprise. I rent cars a lot for my business and if my family were to have a good experience I may of given a thought to change my business over. Unfortunately m, we did not receive any of the sort with KRISTEN working there. I am glad I don't use Hertz and will wholeheartedly tell customers to go to Enterprise they go above and beyond. People listen when I say ... do not go there and give a company that is rude, uncooperative, and unappreciative of the business they do get. I have heard Hertz is the worse place to rent a car and Kristen proved that today with her inadequate And lazy demeanor. I am a manager and would never let someone represent my company the way she did today it was an abysmal experience. read more

Rude, incompetent customer service. Any mix up is automatically your mistake, not theirs. I'd rather do business with a company that is happy to have me as a customer rather than with people who think they're doing me a favor by giving me the time of day. Take your business to Enterprise on Route 31--I've never had a problem with them, and they seem like the kind of people who will work with you (rather than blame you) for any mix up. read more
