ZERO STARS!!! This place is a scam! STAY FAR AWAY!!! Made a reservation through Priceline and went to the airport location. Found out at the airport location that I was in the wrong spot and needed to Uber to the Quebec location to get my car or face huge fees to transfer my reservation to the actual airport location. $35 in Uber fees later, I was told at the Quebec location that I was the 9th customer that day with the same issue. Had a "Supplier's Choice" car and they gave me a Tesla. The rep said, "Congrats, since you picked Supplier's Choice, you get a Tesla". On my way back to the airport, I turned in the car early in the morning before they opened and used the key drop box. Paid another $35 in Uber fees to get back to the airport. A few days later I get an invoice for 3x the reservation price and they say I kept the car for two extra days and the Tesla was an undisclosed upgrade. I used the car for a day and a half and they charged me for 4 days. Impossible to find a phone number for this location so I called the main Hertz customer service number multiple times to get a refund. WORST customer service ever as they basically refuse to believe I turned the car in on time and they say I asked for an upgrade. Two months later and still no refund given. I will NEVER use Hertz again. read more

If negative stars were possible they would be too many for this place. The first problem is that they imply in their name that they are at the airport. They are not. In fact, since they close at 5, they are useless for airport customers arriving after that time as we did. When we arrived the next day they of course did not have the car even though according to Hertz's policy they are supposed to hold the car 24 hours. But the main problem was the rudeness of their staff, particularly Erica. They refused to offer any assistance for the situation. When we asked about other cars or our reservation they told us to leave. Apparently they get those types of questions frequently. The best thing you can do is avoid this business and hope they cease to exist. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would give them zero stars if it was an option. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that they didn't have a car. I never received a call notifying me that the car was unavailable. Rather than attempting to find me a different car, the Hertz representative simply said "good bye." One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. I reserved a car at 425. The recording said they close at 5 got there at 439, no one was there. It's pretty much impossible to talk to a live person. The counter people seemed nice but this place sucks. Booked our reservation days before arriving on a holiday weekend but the day before pickup they call and say all cars are taken and we are now on a waitlist. Later, unknown/untold to us they cancel our reservation. I try to call the day of the reservation start but somehow the line is disconnected. I call the general customer line they say no cars, I tell them the app says there are cars nearby at different location then they say oh they do see that in the system, then they confirm the app is wrong. I miraculously find a car in southern Denver, go back to this location to ask them to make up the $ difference. I walk in there and see a customer berating them and then swearing at them. They tell him they can't do anything for him. He is so angry and fuming it makes my disappointment small by comparison, so I just ask for them to make me whole, they say they are just a sort of checkout desk, not a full service rental site so they can't do that kind of thing. No resolutions here. This place is in a mini mall and is just one long counter desk and a door, set your expectations as low as possible and you'll be fine. read more

This Hertz location is very difficult to get in contact with, however they did provide a rental quickly and for a good price. The people working here are hustling in a good way, no shady fees or anything like that. In my experience with other car rental (Avis) *gags* you don't really feel like you're in good hands. ZERO stars! HORRIBLE!! Waited in line for over an hour. Then tried to be guilted in to purchasing additional insurance coverage that I already stated to the agent I had personal insurance to cover rentals. THEN waited in line at the exit just for the agent to tell me after going thru the paper work that the car was mistakenly not marked and was UNRENTABLE. I showed up 30 min late for my car rental and they had given my car away and told me I was a no show (this was after I called and told them I'd be slightly late). I left and ended up going back in to tell them it wasn't okay and I needed a car. After being in the store for an hour they finally got me a car and they warned me about one of its tires but blamed the low pressure on the temps outside (which obviously was a lie but I needed a car). Had an excruciatingly horrible experience with employee Tanya Kahler. She was extremely rude and withheld information about the rates and fees. She portrayed the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Every time we asked her to modify our rental, she kept saying she was incapable. I decided to rent a car because my car was in the shop. I thought I was getting a compact car.the car Hertz gave me was a charger and all would had been fine if we had not had a snow storm this car did so bad in the snow The tires did not do well at all. I was stuck multiple times. so the car I rented has been parked in my driveway and I have had to call uber to get to work all week. I have tried to call hert multiple times and have not been able to speak with anyone. The person driving the uber car was driving an old Toyota Prius that did great in the snow. I can't believe that was driving with no problem in the same streets that my rental kept getting stuck in the snow. We signed up online for a car weeks prior to coming to Denver. When my flight landed and I recieved a calove asking if I was still coming for the rental I said yes and they told me they definitely had a car. when I was on my way to get the car they called to tell me there was not one available that day but would be available tomorrow. I switched my reservation and they reassured me I had a car. The next morning I called to confirm they had a car for me and they said they did. When I got there the front desk guy told us he never had a car and because we didn't make a reservation ( which we did) would not get a car. The man continued to argue with us until we left. We spent money on ubers, lost our deposit and wasted a day and a half of our vacation dealing with this. This place is trash, go to enterprise. read more

Horrible! A couple years ago I rented and returned a car to the airport. Mass return site, just park and go. A few weeks later I get a letter in the mail claiming I wrecked the car and they wanted me to pay $1,000 in damages. I asked for the damage photos, it was like pulling teeth trying to get those from them. I never damaged it. I finally get some pictures and it's a large abrasion scratch (paint only) on the back corner of the bumper. As if they scratched it trying to drive it out of the hundreds of tightly parked returned rentals, and they blamed it on me. I tried to fight them on it but I had no leg to stand on. I should've taken photos after I returned it, like they do when you pick it up. Lesson learned for next time! Thankfully I bought the extra coverage for $50 and they paid for it. Fast forward to today, I needed a car as mine is being repaired. I made the reservation a week prior to dropping my own car off for repairs. They were the cheapest option for a one day rental. I decided to give them another chance, so I pay an Uber to get to their shop, and I get told they don't have the compact car I reserved, only a larger minivan that requires more gas and more money than the compact car I reserved. I declined!! There was also another couple next to me arguing that they don't have their reservation available either. The clerk told me they don't have cars because they sold their entire fleet due to covid (I bet they regret that, don't they) and now that people are going out again, they don't have the supply for the demand. So I had to pay an Uber yet again, to get a ride home. Never again Hertz!! read more

If you book through Expedia and add the insurance when you pick up the rental they WILL charge you again for their coverage even though you have it. When we realized a second charge hit our bank the night before turning in the rental we spoke to the manager the next day upon turning it in and showed him where we purchased coverage through Expedia and then they also billed us for the coverage. His response was ask Expedia for a refund we should have booked the rental direct. So I contacted customer service and explained and sent them the proof we were charged through both Expedia and them. Here is the reply from them. BEWARE if you book with them Thank you for contacting us. I appreciate the opportunity to review your concerns. We regret any confusion regarding this matter. When additional insurance coverage is purchased at the time of reservation, it is the customer's responsibility to decline the insurance coverage the Hertz location offers. Watch out people under 25 because this location will try to play you like a fiddle. I made reservations online and read thoroughly through the pages to be make sure there wasn't a deposit, debit was accepted and I wouldn't need to buy insurance. I get to the location, they suddenly have a new policy about a 250 dollar deposit for anyone under 25, and credit cards could only be used. As well, tried to cohorce me into buying insurance saying it wasn't optional but when I pulled up the information saying it was, they changed their game and said I was right. On drop off, the employee was very high. I like keef myself, but I wouldn't suggest it at work. He went out and did the check and we got our deposit back. I get a call the next day and he says that there's magically a crack that has appeared on the windshield and I need to file an incident report. ***IMPORTANT*** Make sure to take pictures before and after dropping the vehicle off. I did and it showed there was no damage to the car where there was supposedly a crack. I've heard this has happened to others with this rental company who are under 25. Car itself was fine, we got upgraded to a full-body Nissan. Pre-paid fuel and good to go. Had to wait a long time to get into the lobby because of COVID but that's fine. read more

Service was slow, and renting a dirty car took more than 40 minutes. The rental agreement says I checked out care 30 minutes before when I actually received the car! Then, when I returned, the car charged me an extra $107.00 because they tried to claim I returned the car late. I returned almost exactly 24 hours from when I left! Let me preface this with I planned this vacation to a T and booked through AAA, so I expected it to go so smooth. We landed on time in Denver, took the shuttle straight to the car rental location to pick up our 5 o'Clock rental pickup arriving at 5:10 and they were closed. I'm not sure why a flight that landed at 4:50 would be expected to be at hertz by 4:59 or why on a Friday night, during the busiest travel time, you closed at 4:55...the exact time I called to let you know I was almost there. We sat in the desert heat of 100 degrees calling other rental car companies and everything was sold out. We missed the event we had flew out for that evening. We begged Lyft drivers to drive us 1.5 hours away to our pre paid air bnb in colorado springs which cost 139.00 one way. The next morning, instead of enjoying our vacation, we searched colorado springs for hours to find a car available...we found one 30 minutes away, took a 29.00 Lyft there but they said we could not take the car back to Denver on the 11th for our flight. ..So we spent another 129.00 getting back to Denver airport. We missed an anniversary party, we lost an entire day of our trip, and paid an additional 300.00 in fees for transportation. read more

I went to this store when my vehicle (rented from the airport) had broken down on the freeway. I had managed to get off the freeway and make it to the nearest Hertz for advice on what to do. I told the manager my situation and he stated he didn't want to pay the tow fee on my vehicle so there was nothing he could do. He gave me a 1-800 number to call (15 minutes prior to his closing). I called the number and they told me he should give me a replacement car free of charge. She attempted to call his location which he ignored the phone calls. While I was on the phone just outside the store he locked the office up and went to leave. I had to make him talk to the 1-800 person to get a new rental. Essentially, terrible customer service. Hertz is a great company but this location has some issues. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL- had reservation and called and spoke with Kevin to confirm what time I would be there and that I would please require an AWD vehicle as was going to mountains. Kevin told me that "I will work on this for you right now." Arrived at 11:20am. Waited in line until approx. 12:45pm to be told no AWD vehicles available. No apologies but lots of attitude. Got a Uber 20 minutes from the airport to get my rental that I already had reserved and locked the doors 40 minutes BEFORE CLOSING and all employees were just jacking around in the front and waited minutes to open the door and soon as I ask why they closed early and to explain I need to get the car the man just starting rolling out so many lies , the first one was the keys were already locked up then proceeds to tell me the only vehicle they had was a cargo van that I could try to rent in the morning ( which wasn't what I reserved) and told me they were over book and they basically didn't care to reach out to PAYING costumers ( which they easily could have done ) but they were lazy and worst costumer service! I should have read the reviews on this before booking but having been a Hertz customer in their top tier for decades I assume that the locations are all run well (but I rent from airports 99% of the time). This location and the staff and manager are very disappointing. We had a failure of service as they rented me a car with soaking wet carpeting. And the windshield wiper was shot but the carpeting is my issue. I had rented this for one day on January 10th 2020 and the pick up went fine. I noticed that there was spray or water by the bottom of the drivers door but did not think anything of it. I was in a hurry to pick up my wife at the Crawford and get to a meeting. She put her laptop case on the floor of the back seat and we went to our meeting. When she retrieved it the laptop case and computer were wet. Sopping wet. We felt the carpet (black) and it squished water or something (let hope water). All the carpet was soaked. Obviously a service failure to clean the car and leave the carpet soaking wet. We did not have time to call in the issue (this is apparently key for Hertz customer service) but resolved to report the issue when we turned the car in after our meeting. Which I did. The front counter person said they would have the manager who was not there call us the next day. He or she never did. So when we got home I filled out the Hertz satisfaction survey and complained about the service failure. Nothing happened. Called Hertz customer service. Note to all do not waste your time. I was informed that I should have checked whether the carpet was wet (even thought never in my 100's or rental cars from Hertz has the carpet ever been wet) before I left the Hertz location. The customer service agent insisted that he checked the carpet in his rental cars and his personal car every time he got in it. Seeing that I was not dealing with a rational person I asked to speak to the manager. I was not allowed to talk to him or her but was promised they would call me. You guessed it! No call back. So I had now easily wasted 30 minutes trying to report what was to me an obvious failure on Hertz's part. I went ahead and disputed the charge on my card. More time spent. Finally three weeks after the return I got an email from the manager at the location explaining why they were not responsible for the issue and why it was my fault for not reporting the issue and bringing the car back to get one with dry carpet. Good job Hertz! After decades of using you at least once a month to rent cars for my company and job I am moving to another rental company. Avoid this location like the plague. I cannot recommend Hertz or their customer service either. read more

I was in the exact same situation as Karen M., on the same day! I had already paid for an SUV rental (via Priceline), and the evening before pickup, I get a call saying they isn't going to be an SUV for me in the morning. The manager of this location "Colby" gave me some line about how he's been calling all over the state and "no one has anything". In the very next sentence, he told me I needed to call the airport location and "hopefully they can provide you with a car". Um, what? I said that need needs to take care of that for me, and he flat out refused. I tried to explain to him that I was now completely screwed, as a rental on less than 24 hours notice from another company would be ridiculously expensive. He didn't seem to care, and when I asked if Hertz would spot me the difference in price if I had to go with another company, he said no. So I called the number he gave me, which turned out not to be the airport location, but some corporate office. They said the airport location did have an SUV, but the price was more than double (over $1000). I asked if they would honor the price I had already paid, and she said someone from "upper management" would be calling me within a few hours. Looks like that isn't going to happen. I stayed in Stapleton (20 min from Denver) for a week for the New Years.I wanted to have a car rental to travel during my stay. This particular location was the closest to my hotel and I certainly did NOT want to rent a car from the airport. I read a lot of bad reviews, but decided to give this location a shot. I have to say that I had a GOOD experience with them. I made a reservation for an SUV about a month before my stay. The Monday after I arrived, I called saying I would be several hours late, and they were able to work with me. Once I arrived to the location to pick up my car rental, they did everything in their power to give me everything I needed and answer any questions I had. Yes, it is a small location and it seems like they are short staffed, which led to them having to put callers on hold. But again, my experience was great because of their "promise" to hold my reservation even though I was late and they were busy. I give them props for the amount of work they have and how they were able to handle it. Pros: Very helpful, Friendly, Had car reservation ready to go. Cons: Small location, Seems understaffed, Callers get put on hold a lot. read more
