Pricing is a bit higher than chains BUT it is worth it because you get the vehicle you are promised with no hassle, and you will be dealing directly with human beings that will answer questions you have in a timely manner. There are no hidden fees and they didn't try to gouge me for damage, wear and tear- some rental companies will do this but not these guys. Plus, you're supporting a local business. 1/16/26 First of all, upon arrival at the shuttle pickup lane (Denver airport), one man said he waited for the shuttle for over an hour despite making numerous calls to Budget. So we called Uber. Then, while waiting in line at the Rapid Rez/Fast Break booth, the lady behind me told me they gave her the wrong car and she had to return to the Rapid Rez booth to have the car reassigned to her. Turns out the same thing happened to me because the lady in the booth sent me to the wrong car. I didn't know it until I was not able to exit the lot. Three cars behind me had to back up so I could return to Rapid Rez booth to stand in the blustery cold again and get the car reassigned to me. When I tried to exit for the second time, the man at the gate told me this car was not assigned to me either. I refused to go back to the Rapid Rez booth, so he personally ran back and corrected the issue. Turns out my Rapid Res rental took over 1 /12 hours! I have been a Rapid Rez member since 2013-- This is totally unacceptable! Rented a 15 Passenger Van for a family trip during graduation, and was extremely happy with my experience. Being able to pick up the van from the Denver airport parking lot, just steps from baggage claim, was awesome for such a large group. Mike High also took the time to ask me how many seats I really needed, which was key, as just removing 2 seats created all the space I needed for our luggage. I cannot remember the last time I wrote a review on Yelp, but I absolutely had to based on my experience with Nathan, who I believe is the owner. Unfortunately, we nicked up the car we rented. We gave Nathan a heads up, and basically assumed the worst (we were going to get charged way too much for the repairs). When we got the estimate, we decided to pay it out of pocket because it wasn't too bad. I let Nathan know this and his immediate response was, 'since you're paying out of pocket, let me see if I can get a better price'. My jaw dropped. The fact that he cares that much about our experience even after it is over is world class service. I would be surprised if Mile High was the cheapest way to get a 4x4 in CO. However, the incremental cost ensures a great car, no hassle (drop off and pick up in the airport parking lot), and piece of mind (because of Nathan). We rented from Mike High Car Rental from 7/11 to 7/18. I originally reserved a 4 door Jeep wrangler with Budget. I called Budget at Denver Airport to confirm. They said they have the reservation but would not guarantee a 4 door Jeep. WTH, they can take the reservation but not hold the Jeep. They said I might end up with a 'similar' car. Again, WTH! What is similar to a 4-door Jeep. I called Nate at Mike High and reserved a 2020 Wrangler 4-door Rubicon. It only had 1200 miles, crazy new! Now I had a guaranteed Jeep Rubicon for about an extra $10 per day. Perfect. Later in the week we wanted to switch with an equal value car to do some longer drives. Again Nate stepped up and swapped out for a new, blacked out Suburban XL. This was a level up! It looked like the President was in town. Thanks Nathan for a great week and a great value. If you are reading this review, I'm assuming you're traveling to the Rocky mountains and are debating trying someone other than the major companies. Nate is awesome, 110% reliable, and it IS worth it! Just book it already! I've travelled through the Denver international airport dozens of times and far prefer it for layovers to Chicago because they have fewer cancellations in winter weather. But traveling TO it is an entirely different matter. It's. A. Nightmare. Everything is under construction, the lines are insane, and there are zero car rental companies on site at the terminal. The travel time to the car lot via shuttle + the time spent waiting in line will be at LEAST one hour. If you have a small child and a car seat (as I did), it's a perfect storm for a meltdown right before you have to dump said child in a car to drive for 2 hours. Nate bent over backwards to get a car to my family with less than 24 hours notice. The hand off process was the easiest car rental pickup/drop off transaction I've ever experienced in my life, and I am not sure we would have made our return flight without it. Nate was a gift in summer, and if there was any chance of snow, I'd think he was a literal godsend. I don't like Denver, but if I come back, I would definitely use his service again. read more

The owner, Nate, actually met us at the airport and we drove off from there. Literally saving us hours of standing in line at one of the big chains. Couldn't have been easier! Rented a Chrysler minivan, 47k miles, but looked brand new. Then, when you drop it off, you go to the airport again, saving at least an hour. The Valet drop off is right next to departures. Do you read reviews and are normally skeptical? Me too. And Mile High Car Rental was so well reviewed I was positive it couldn't be real. It is! I was in Denver to take my girlfriend white water rafting and I wanted her experience to be as smooth as possible. That includes not waiting in line at the airpot for a car like some sort of 16th century commoner. That is where Nathan came in. Car is waiting for you in the valet lot. We breezed past people waiting in long queues and right to the car (well, almost. Make sure you pay attention to what lot you're in (east or west). We went to the wrong lot at first). At the end of our journey we drove the car to the airport where Nathan picked it up from us in front of our gate. We had the unfortunate circumstance of being hit and run while in possession of the rental vehicle. Nathan was very understanding. He was also very responsive to texts and emails though out the rental process. The valet service pick up was great as I HATE driving off site with luggage in tow to go to rental car lots. We were able to complete all paperwork ahead of time and quickly pick up the keys at the airport and then quickly on our way! When we returned the vehicle (the car was still drivable after the accident), due to timing, Nathan was even able to meet us and pick up the keys at curbside loading for our airline - can't get easier than that! Rented a car from Nathan over the Christmas holiday. Service is beyond amazing. Walking out the baggage claim door and having your rental car waiting for you, warmed up and ready to go goes above and beyond in the realm of service. So as the organizer of our annual mens ski trip, I was looking for a pair of true four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles to take up into the mountains. We had eight men and a bunch of luggage including ski gear of course. After speaking with Nathan, I was a little apprehensive simply because it seemed really too good to be true! I went ahead and booked two Dodge Journey vehicles a few months prior to our trip. As the date approached, I checked in with Nathan to be sure he had received all of the necessary paperwork and he assured me he did. Upon arrival to the Denver Airport, my cell phone rang as I was walking through the concourse. It was Nathan telling me the cars were ready and waiting at the airport Valet. After a VERY SHORT WALK to the valet stand, we found our two beautiful and clean AWD vehicles ready and waiting. Our entire group was so happy that we did not have to get on a shuttle bus and stand in line at a traditional rental car place. We were on our way immediately after loading up our gear and luggage. We literally experienced ZERO waiting to leave the Denver Airport! Consequently, we made it up into the mountains about an hour and a half earlier than we ever had in the past! While in the mountains, the AWD vehicles performed like a dream in the snow. We felt totally comfortable driving with the traction we were getting...Upon our return a week later, I received a text from Nathan stating that he might be able to meet us at the curbside checkin for our airline instead of us dropping the vehicles off at the valet stand. While in route to DIA from the mountains, we corresponded via text to give Nathan our ETA. Upon our arrival at the airport, we were met by Nathan and his lovely wife Jennifer standing curbside right outside our airline of choice! We shook hands, unloaded our gear and walked into the airport. Done.....It was as easy as having a friend drop you off at the airport. Needless to say, this was the BEST RENTAL EXPERIENCE any of us eight middle aged men had ever had. And,collectivly, our group travels A LOT. I really can't say enough good things about this company. I wanted to rent a 4 wheel drive as we were going into the mountains and didn't know how the weather would be. None of the other car rental companies would guarantee a 4 wheel drive, even if you reserved an SUV. Mile High Car Rental was able to guarantee a 4 wheel drive! The reservation online was easy and they email you a rental agreement which you fill out and email or fax back. Then once you arrive at the airport, you just go to valet parking to pick up your vehicle! No waiting in line forever at a car rental counter. In fact, my flight arrived early so I called Mile High when I arrived and they brought the car directly to me...I didn't even need to go to valet! All of my paperwork and instructions for returning the car were inside, and off I went. And when I dropped the car off, I simply dropped it off at valet parking and I was done.
