Then, while waiting in line at the Rapid Rez/Fast Break booth, the lady behind me told me they gave her the wrong car and she had to return to the Rapid Rez booth to have the car reassigned to her. Turns out the same thing happened to me because the lady in the booth sent me to the wrong car. I didn't know it until I was not able to exit the lot. Three cars behind me had to back up so I could return to Rapid Rez booth to stand in the blustery cold again and get the car reassigned to me. When I tried to exit for the second time, the man at the gate told me this car was not assigned to me either. I refused to go back to the Rapid Rez booth, so he personally ran back and corrected the issue. Turns out my Rapid Res rental took over 1 /12 hours! I have been a Rapid Rez member since 2013-- This is totally unacceptable! I rented from this Budget lot one year ago and had no problems so it appears someone needs to be retrained and management needs to pay attention....

My vehicle was returned in good condition, with no more than the usual amount of dirt and debris one might expect after a rental period. To my shock, however, I was slapped with a $450 cleaning fee, a charge that seems utterly disproportionate and unjustified. I have rented from various companies over the years and have never encountered such an exorbitant fee for routine cleaning. It is my belief that this charge is a deliberate tactic to inflate the final bill, preying on unsuspecting customers who trust in Avis's reputation. This experience has greatly diminished my trust in your company, and I feel compelled to warn others about this practice. Such hidden fees erode customer loyalty and drive business away, which is counterproductive in the long run. I urge Avis to reconsider these practices and implement fair and transparent pricing. I am requesting a full review of my case and a refund of the cleaning fee charged to my account. When we arrived, what I reserved wasn't available, reservation plans totally changed (that was my fault btw) and we had to wait BUT..... Madison and Reed Arao (he had black hair and looks similar to Chris hemsworth) did everything possible to make it right. They are the epitome of customer service and they deserve a raise! They handled my parents and I with extensive patience and understanding, and really made us feel like we were in great hands and never gave us the feeling we were a burden. I could write a book of how amazing those two were. ESPECIALLY REED ARAO - he deserves higher wages cos you have a gem in this one!! When we returned the car (I forget the guys name. I think his name is Tyler but he supposedly is one of the mangagers - he's blonde and clean shaven) went out of his way to pester my dad about being late by 20 minutes after 1.) we informed the office we'd be driving back from pagosa springs (a 5-6 hr drive) and made an agreement there would be a grace period, 2,) he gave us the impression he was on power trip - really rigid all business type. He definitely doesn't have customer service skills anywhere close to the other 2, and 3.) Tyler lied to us to enforce policy. Reed needs a promotion! Found out at the airport location that I was in the wrong spot and needed to Uber to the Quebec location to get my car or face huge fees to transfer my reservation to the actual airport location. $35 in Uber fees later, I was told at the Quebec location that I was the 9th customer that day with the same issue. Had a "Supplier's Choice" car and they gave me a Tesla. The rep said, "Congrats, since you picked Supplier's Choice, you get a Tesla". On my way back to the airport, I turned in the car early in the morning before they opened and used the key drop box. Paid another $35 in Uber fees to get back to the airport. A few days later I get an invoice for 3x the reservation price and they say I kept the car for two extra days and the Tesla was an undisclosed upgrade. I used the car for a day and a half and they charged me for 4 days. Impossible to find a phone number for this location so I called the main Hertz customer service number multiple times to get a refund. WORST customer service ever as they basically refuse to believe I turned the car in on time and they say I asked for an upgrade. Two months later and still no refund given. I will NEVER use Hertz again.

In fact, since they close at 5, they are useless for airport customers arriving after that time as we did. When we arrived the next day they of course did not have the car even though according to Hertz's policy they are supposed to hold the car 24 hours. But the main problem was the rudeness of their staff, particularly Erica. They refused to offer any assistance for the situation. When we asked about other cars or our reservation they told us to leave. Apparently they get those types of questions frequently. The best thing you can do is avoid this business and hope they cease to exist.
