ZERO !!!! It's obvious this is the worse rental car facility in NKC - just read the reviews. Rented a car and was given a Tesla, no big deal except that I told by the attendant that I was traveling for business out of state and how far would the car travel on a charge. He said about 200 miles which is not even close. Finding Tesla charging stations is a nightmare. So, I called and asked to have the car swapped when I got back from my first business trip. I was told no cars were available but call back and over the weekend. Again, no cars. Called again on Monday and finally, we can swap you out. Drive over to the facility after fully charging the Tesla only to be told I now need to pay more money. What a joke!!! Needless to say, I will never rent from them again and I rent a car for business every other week. Good riddance!!! read more

I walk into the desk clerk on FaceTime with her family picking out Christmas gifts and talking to the costumer in front of us about alcohol and restaurants or where to eat for new years instead of actually working! Some people cannot keep side conversations and non-work conversations outside of other people's times. Unprofessional and seriously frustrated. She also mentioned my husband is my father, he's a couple years older than me and there is no way he could have a 27 yr old. Commenting about how it sucks to ask men for stuff which I shrugged off because it seemed like she was extremly bitter about not having someone in her life. On top of that, she charged me 700$ for insurance she told us was 300$ three times when asked how much it was! She commented we were there still there at 5:09 but she wasn't giving us the keys because she was screaming in the back at someone and we could hear it from the office. Her name is Alexis Chiers. She called me from her number and told me my rental is ready yet when I got there she acted as if she never called me and as if my husband wasn't there three times already. If this is a manager trainee I wonder who the actual manager is! I have video of everything that was going on and I'm going to corporate about this. read more

This place deserves zero stars. If Kenny King is representing Hertz as a company then Hertz is the absolute worst rental car company possible. Atrocious customer service. Kenny decided on his own accord to cancel our booking the moment we came to pick up the vehicle because it was prepaid with a debit card. When I offered to pay with my credit card as per Hertz policy he refused to rent to me and said he would call the cops if I didn't leave. What kind of business model is this? Your customer is willing to change payment based on company policy but your associate makes a personal choice to cancel your booking and put you out of your travel plans! Absurd treatment! If I had to ever rent a car I would choose another company period! I have a vehicle Cadillac xt6 in for service with Van Chevrolet ( worse choice to purchase a vehicle) I have a husband that can't get into this Malibu (medical reasons) and ask for American made vehicle to accommodate him being I work in auto industry and that's what's required by manufacture warranty also. The Gladstone location told me to call the other sites to locate one. So now I work for Hertz also so no worries i did the calling and I did found two locations with a vehicle to accommodate then all of a sudden you can't switch out the vehicle after being told it's available. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE, unless you want the cops called on you. Refused service by KENNY KING because the card we used online to book was a debit card which they said they can't use for some reason. Asked why it was allowed to be used to book online and they said it will always go through(whatever that means). Fiancé offered to use a CREDIT card with her name on it (she used my debit card to book online and had it on her) but was told it's a liability and he won't rent and will call the cops! Wow, the ratings for this place were horrible but we were in a pinch and for some reason, Hertz had the best rates which is rarely the case, so I went ahead and reserved a car from the Gladstone location. Our experience was awesome. We were given a free upgrade for our trip and everything about the vehicle and the rates were clearly explained up front. We had an extra driver and because we were Hertz Gold members and also AAA members there were no additional fees for the extra driver. Had a great trip, the vehicle ran perfectly. The return process was fast and as long as the tank is full when you drop it off, no additional charges were issued. I will rent from this place again. read more

This is the WORST car rental experience I've ever had. I PREPAID for a midsize car. It said no refunds, cancellations. It came off my credit card. I assumed when I arrived that I would have a car. My flight was late getting in. They had no midsized car for me. They rented it to someone else even though the car was already paid for. Double dipping? 2 charges for same car? They offered me a DOWNGRADE! I had no choice but to take the car and they knew it. I called Twice the next day. Was told manager would call me. Nothing. I finally called back. They said they had one for me. Btw, round trip 100 miles to get the midsize. When I got there, the car was dirty and 1/2 empty gas tank. As I was driving home I noticed the "low tire" gage was on!!! Had a reservation through insurance. Called morning of reservation to verify, they were busy so took name and number to call back. 5 hours later I called again, no answer so it transferred me to another number. First person kept trying to make a new reservation but then finally transferred me to another person, they found my information and scheduled a 530pm pick up. The office called back a few minutes later, stated they close at 530 and cannot pick up that late, so we moved up the time. They called back again stating they did not have a vehicle for me, they were 5 short on the day. So many issues here! Called Enterprise after that call, had a vehicle, picked me up, even upgraded for free. read more

PISSED OFF MOMMA!! We reserved thru a third party website for our trip and I selected a 12 noon pickup time. Our flight was late and we paid for a lyft from airport to here (15 minutes) with two young children, 3 suitcases and a car seat, only to get there at 12:10 and no one was there! I had no idea if their hours because I scheduled with a third party place and why have a pickup allowed at 12, if you close at 12?!! We called the emergency MCI airport phone number that was located on this locations door, and we talked to someone in India. My husband and I were on the phone with supervisors at corporate and people that the airport for about two hours. While we are stuck with baggage and crying children and no car!! We suggested that they get ahold of the manager of this location, to come back and just give the keys so that we could all be on our way but NOPE!! They couldn't do that!! Nor could someone from the airport come pick us up (like other customer service driven companies) so we had to lyft BACK TO THE AIRPORT because Hertzs only option was to charge us $200 more to pick up at the airport. THANKS GLADSTONE HERTZ for not taking the time and respect to call and ask if we were on the way, since you knew we were supposed to pick up today!!! HORRIBLE customer service!! read more

I called to schedule an appointment for 11 o'clock in the morning, they told me to call them on my way so that they could remember to send someone out. I called 5 times and no one answered. On the 6th time they finally answer but put me on hold and then hung up!! So the customer service is absolutely terrible. They told me that you can have pets in the car, but if there is any evidence of a pet they will charge you $300...? I'd go somewhere else to get a rental, this place is NOT good at all. read more

I used this location through an auto body shop. The paint was peeling off of the bumper and it was easier to point out where there were no scratches and dents than to mark the ones that were there. The interior was also in need of cleaning. With all that aside, I would still not use this location. The car sat for a week before being picked up and I was charged for that. Now it will take up to two weeks to get my money back and they "can't" make a new receipt. Save yourself a headache and go to a different location. read more

Cynthia, the Assistant Branch Manager was exceptionally patient and courteous with me. I recently received a new bank card and forgot to activated it. I realized this after my first few attempt to process my payment declined. Cynthia was very sweet and was happy to give me time to call my bank and activate my new card. She even took time to make sure my reservation had my Gold member number submitted. The vehicle I received was a gas saver and ran great. The service at this location was excellent and I will definitely be back. read more

Where to start on this fine establishment? Ah yes now I remember, 1. They don't inform you what so ever that an extra driver costs 13.50 extra a day to be added onto the car until you are there picking it up with your buddy to go road tripping. 2. (My favorite). I booked this rental car on Hotwire.com which quoted me $18.00 a day from Friday to Sunday (Labor Day weekend) so a grand total of 60$. Not so fast! When I got there they told me that since they are closed Sunday and Monday for the holiday that I would have to drop it off Tuesday. Charging me an extra two days that I don't need or want the car so now 100$ None of this was communicated to me at all until I was there and had no choice but to accept it or be out of my planned trip. Their pathetic excuse for not informing me sooner was they didn't have my phone # but hmm... Let's think, they emailed me my confirmation to pick up the car. Why wasn't it explained then? Bottom line, shady business practices, crappy services and convenience (can only drop it off at that location!) will never do business with Hertz again and I suggest if you don't want to "Hertz" after they fuck you so hard. Gladstone had been using the Liberty office for probably 6 months due to "water damage" in their office. I had a reservation at Liberty to pick up for Christmas Eve near closing time (2:00). Having been burned earlier in the year, I tried calling starting around 10:30 - kept getting "all circuits are busy". Finally drove down around 11:30, only to see that not only was the office closed, it was bare - no desks, no chairs, completely empty. Called corporate and after a lengthy hold was told that Gladstone had cars available if I go down right away. No discount? No thanks. A few minutes later Gladstone calls me and offers the car for the same rate. Confirms that they were responsible because he thought "his coworker" had contacted all the reservations. Lots of "sorry", but no discount for my troubles. Forget it. This is twice now I have received confirmation emails only to find out the location was closed without letting me know when I go to pick up the car. Never again. I am a Gold member and had been so happy with their service in the past, but to leave someone high and dry TWICE without so much as a head's up that there would be an issue and nothing but lip service - well, I won't give them the opportunity again. Had a good fuel efficient car. The price was less than half the price at the airport! If there was any drawback it was that the vehicle had to be picked up Monday with a promised ride to location by the employee who assisted with reservation. That ride did not happen. A night in the hotel, meals and an Uber ride still saved me hundreds of dollars on the rental!!! The rental agent the morning of the pickup was excellent. Drop off at airport was fast and very efficient. AAA helped with all arrangements. read more

Went through this company last week to rent a car for our trip we're leaving today! Go in and they can't give us the car because I was driving and my boyfriend used his car. No big deal. I asked can we swap cards? No, because we already paid half on his card. Literally tells me there's nothing he can do. So I asked if we could cancel the whole thing and start fresh with my card. He said yes and would hold the car for 30 minutes. I went home tried to cancel the reservation but the website wouldn't let me. It literally would just not let me hit cancel. So I went back to Hertz and he hands me some dumb booklet and told me to call the 1-800 which just tells you to go on the website. No person just an automated machine telling you to go to the website? Can't get the car because they're closed so I go to the support tab on the website to try and write them. Guess what!? It doesn't work. It just says IP removed. Ok. So I downloaded the app and canceled it on there and after refreshing 10x it finally let me cancel the reservation. Still out of a car and still don't know if we have cancellation fees because when I asked he said he wouldn't know and to call the hotline (that doesn't work.) :) read more

Worst car rental experience ever. Didn't have a car for me despite having reserved in advance and calling in advance to confirm reservation. Also didn't pick me up as promised. Staff is awful. Clearly they hate their jobs. I don't blame them, this place is awful. Manager was heard complaining about a customer in front of other customers. read more

Terrible customer service. Additional insurance was never explained. It was not even covered in a conversation beyond the daily rate. Plus, I was overcharged an entire day. I was assured I'd get a call back from the manager about this. Never heard from anyone. Their "contract" is produced on what looks like an old fashioned computer punch card. The type is in all caps with virtually no spacing between words or between lines. All caps is difficult enough to read with proper word and line spacing. I do not recommend this location or Hertz. read more

Great location in Gladstone. The car was clean and ready for when we arrived. Received a map and directions to my destination. When I returned the car the staff was prompt and courtesy and the price was exactly as quoted. Price was better than several other rental companies in this area. read more
