Positive: They saved the day after the Addison location left me up a creek by telling me literally 5 mins before my p/u time that they had no car for me. I'd made a reservation weeks in advance & was in from out of state. Called this location the same day & they hooked me up immediately w/ a car & even let me choose between 2 different upgraded cars. Much appreciated. Negative: It appears they took advantage of a misunderstanding & used it to get a little more money out of me. And then also, when I saw my final charge on my bank statement I noticed Hertz had taken the liberty to round the total up from the total of which they assured me @ check-out. Granted it's a small amount but it speaks to the trust factor & more indications they don't seem to value being above board & transparent. And if they've been rounding up every customer's total, it'll add up to a pretty decent extra bit of $ for them. Just beware. While this looks like a Hertz car rental, it's in fact a location of disappointment and broken promises. Even warned by my chosen car body shop that this location is dysfunctional, I was hopeful since I talked to the manager who seemed to make a reservation for me. I also wanted to use them because State Farm has an agreement with the company. However, when I showed up to the body shop, no rental car was there at the agreed upon time. I tried calling this Hertz and on one answered. Finally, the receptionist at the body shop called and was told no one was free to bring me the car. Thankfully, Enterprise has a location nearby and also in the body shop, replacing the removed Hertz branch. They worked with State Farm to get me a car in a few minutes while Hertz completely failed. While I realize this is just one location, this kind of experience is the kind that can turn someone off from a brand for life. Perhaps this location should either be closed or needs rebooted. After our car accident, our insurance sent us to Hertz. This location didn't give us a choice of cars, only told us which car we were getting. The paperwork said the tank was full when we picked it up, the reality was the tank was half full, and the car's exterior was filthy, covered with bird with poop. They are open at 8am, but don't answer phone until 8:40am. They don't have after hour drop off, and they stop giving rides at 4:30pm even though they close at 6pm...convenient for them. I went to drop off the car at 4:18 pm with my daughter expecting to get a ride home. Upon arrival, Jerome tells me the drivers out giving another person a ride, and I'll have to find another way home!!! Thank goodness for Sergio, assistant manager (at the RICHARDSON location). He was picking up another car for his location and graciously offered, and ultimately gave us a ride home). I would avoid the Plano location at all costs! read more

Alright, I waited a few weeks to gather my thoughts and write a review here. So, short opinion: don't rent from this location. There are plenty of Hertz around DFW. Find another. I use Hertz in other location regularly without any problems, this location almost put me off the company as a whole. Save yourself the hassle. Lie #1: We have the car you need. It's ready call us when you need a pick up. Lie #2: Sure, we'll send a driver they'll be there in 15 mins. Waited over an hour while the same person who went to get the car they supposedly had went 20 minutes E to get the car then back 20 mins W of the original location to come get me. Lie #3: Insurance covered everything. They actually charged me one random day of the rental for no reason. Want the full story, it's below. State Farm uses Hertz for their rentals, so starts our story. We called multiple times ahead of our rental to insure they would have the correct vehicle type ready and available for us. Monday morning comes along and I call to ask about the vehicle one more time and the pick up from the body shop. They tell me that they schedule pickups, I have to call when I'm done so their drivers aren't waiting around. They have my car. I understand the process, so I call when everything's done and find out they don't have the car I need. But they're about to go get the car. I ask if someone can come get me while they are getting the car because I'm now late for work, they say, "Sure, no problem. We'll have someone there in about 15 mins." About 30 minutes later, I call back and get put on hold immediately. "Hi, please hold." After waiting over 3 minutes on hold, I try again. No answer this time, same thing for almost 45 minutes. I got through twice, both times I couldn't get a word in before being put on infinite hold. Finally, a girl shows up in the car to pick me up. It hasn't been prepped or cleaned, and she doesn't know how to close the sunroof. I show her how, we drive back, I ask about what happened she says, "Nothing, they sent me to get the car and come pick you up." So obviously someone coming to get me was a lie. I ask about the calls and she claims that only one person is at the store and he's probably really busy and apologizes. I get back and the manager is at the store talking to I think his girlfriend on his cellphone, by the convo, obviously not business. When he gets off, he does my paperwork. I'm so mad, I don't say anything about the calls, being hung up on, left on hold. I just want to get my car and get to work. I get my paperwork from the manager and I'm waiting for the girl to come back around with the clean car. No one else is in the building, however, the manager is consistently on the phone the whole time. The latter calls do appear to be business related, he is calling other places to try and offload his cars because he has too many cars. This is apparently MUCH more important than picking up the phone and talking to a customer as I watch call waiting beep through multiple times and him ignore it. Probably 15 long, angry minutes later, the nice girl brings the SUV back around for me all washed up and hands me the keys. I have to ask her to file a damage report, because I can easily spot damage. Fast forward two weeks, I take the car back with my wife because I don't want to deal with their drivers. I get there and there is only one person working, so I wait in line for 15-20 minutes for her to help another customer who is having the same conversation I had, apparently she called right before dropping her car off to insure they had the right car waiting, they said they did. Alas, they did not. Fun stuff. My turn, I turn the car in they give me my paperwork tell me there is nothing to do it's all covered by insurance. That night I get billed for one day of the rental. I call State Farm and they apologize and say that Hertz did the charge, State Farm left it open with unlimited days. After calling Hertz, they tell me that I will have to get written documentation signed by State Farm and faxed to them along with a printed check for the amount. When the amount is confirmed they will then refund my card. Flash forward to a long talk with State Farm, they call Hertz on my behalf a few times then call me and graciously apologize and say they'll just overnight me the check instead of dealing with Hertz. Closing notes if management or owners read this. The two young girls who helped me (pickup and checkin), were very nice and apologetic for waits. The male manager (Mike, maybe?) was not helpful at all and quite off putting. I don't know for a fact that he was ignoring my calls that morning, but it sure felt like it. Either way, you need more people. And you need better training for dealing with customers. Just please don't tell me you have something when you obviously don't. I saw you do the same thing to another customer when I tried to check the car in. That needs to stop. read more

I went there this afternoon to pick up my minivan that was sitting in the front of the place. I had a reservation since June. It was for 12:00pm. They called to confirm the appointment and we told them we were on our way. We showed up at 12:05pm and this black guy wearing a white shirt said can u help you . We said we are here for our rental car. He said it's too late and he already clocked out for the day. He was the laziest person I have seen. Please do not go here. not specific to this location, but I got into a rental agreement with Hertz through a collision repair shop. everything was fine but one problem: PlatePass this is how they "help" you by allowing you to run tollways without having to stop and pay.... except for the fine print: $4.95 a day up to $24.75 per month + any toll fees you acquire. but they dont just charge you $4.95 a day for the days that you use it. once you use platepass once, they keep charging you everyday you rent the car up until $24.75 EVEN IF YOU DONT USE THE TOLLWAY. wtf kind of rip off is this.... literally just robbing people So you accidentally forget and run the tollway once and they make you pay $24.75??? I called platepass to see if there was anything I could do about waiving the fee or transferring it to my NTTA account. his advice? "you might as well keep running it now since you're gonna get charged for it anyways" yeah solid advice my friend...why hertz or any rental company would want to put their customers through this experience is beyond me. absolutely ridiculous. We had a reservation at a very good price with our membership. However this place broke the promises. Forced us to add the insurance even we had our own, and the price goes almost doubled. Said there's nothing they that can do to edit reservation even it was clearly stated the price and type of car on the literary. When I tried to call the customer service, the receptionist changed his mind and gave us a mid-size instead of the full size we've booked. Terrible rental car experience. I rented a car online at a certain price point. When I arrived, it was not available. They would not give me an upgrade without paying for the additional cost. Had I known they were going to charge me more money, I wouldn't have booked Hertz. My ride had already left plus I desperately needed a car so I was trapped and basically forced to pay more. I had made a mistake on the reservation and the man at the front desk(would not give me his name after I told him I wanted to make a complaint) was unable to make the proper change on the reservation. Then the "manager" Kimmie said she would change the reservation and then waive the cancellation. Which they did not honor. So they gave me a 1-800 number. The people on the phone were extremely helpful and immediately changed the reservation and honored the price change. Next they made us wait a ridiculous amount of time, she then asked me to "sit" down which I am unsure why... Sorry that we inconvenienced him by trying to get a rental car which is his sole job. You think that they wouldnt even think about leaving until their guests were taken care of. It was fine that he didnt greet us when we entered but we had to bring up ourselves for him to acknowledge us. Just know that there are hidden fees that apparently come up after your payment is already made and that no matter what you are going to be charged more money than what they originally asked for. This is the second time I rented a vehicle from this lot. I had completed a reservation for a pick-up truck for May, 19th thru the 23rd. I booked the reservation on May, 3rd, plenty of time. The price that was quoted was just what I needed. When I got there to pick up the truck, it was not so. We were told" We don't have any pick ups because the college students are moving and the recent hail storms". Well, I guess the "RESERVATION" word didn't factor into this rental. We were offered a Ford Escape with a measley $35.00 discount. We ended up not renting at all. Wasn't able to carry all of my fishing gear and beach stuff. I would give -ve points to this Hertz location. When we booked the car, they laid out the details for additional cost of insurance and also laid out the details for additional driver costs. At the time of returning the car, they charged as higher on these things, Upon being asked, the person said "I don't know" why were you told a different price. I didn't tell you that". The first person who booked our car was not present. When I asked him to call up the person , he said he's in a medical emergency, I can't call him. Well I said then you need to resolve the prices for me. When I said that he started intimidating me by saying that "do you not care if a person is in a medical emergency?" After this, I told him because of your per day high cost of adding additional drivers, we did not add additional drivers and my friend drove 12 hrs straight. He then started advising me that I could have driven even though I wasn't an additional driver. I replied saying - but that's illegal. He then gave me an advice saying - "its ok no body checks". I was shocked at this. after this when I asked him to reduce the price because we were informed of different charges at the time of booking the car from the center, he started threatening me that if he updates the price, he will lose his job. After that since it was 6:15 pm, he gave up and said he needs to go home by 6pm, he just updated it and left. After that Hertz again charged us with a higher toll rate. Hertz told us its going to be around $5 per day for the toll. But they charged us more that (5*no. of days we booked the car for). I'm never booking Hertz now! read more

I booked a reservation on line with this location at 9:30 in the morning and paid for the insurance to include full coverage. I had my reservation paperwork in order and a confirmation from Hertz that my car was ready for pick up. I arrived at 10:15 to pick up the rental that was scheduled for 11:00 am. I was told as soon as I arrived that there were no cars available for the entire day!!!!! WHAT THE BLANK. While I was there there were at least 5 other people with the same situation as myself. I have been a reward member for Hertz for a while now and have been to a few different locations within Dallas, Plano and Frisco. I needed to rent a car for just one day so I made my reservation and headed to this location after work. There were two people off to the side and another customer waiting. Another agent came back and I had to get his attention to greet me and assist me. I never did get his name but it went from bad to really really bad in a matter of minutes. He was completely rude the entire time. My bank card declined the transaction but I called my bank and cleared it up. The agent comes back and says that I can't rent a car due to my credit score. However that was never an issue in the past with other reservations. I walked out of there extremely mad and disgusted by this jerks "customer service ". He then asks if I needed a ride, I yelled at him and said, I'll take my business elsewhere and walked over to Enterprise and received top notch customer service! And they allowed me to rent a car without any issues. I am disgusted with Hertz and will never rent through them again. Hertz needs to train their staff to have more respect for people. read more

Pick up was HORRIBLE, I was told that the kind of vehicle I wanted wasn't available? So then give me a free upgrade since it's not my fault? NO I had to go back and forth to tell him that I was not paying any extra since they didn't have the required vehicle I originally reserved and paid for already. I was told I will have to wait until he can "find" another car at another location.....Seriously??? I was on borrowed time but told him he is going to have to talk to someone about this issue. I threatened to cancel only to be told that I would be charged a $100 cancellation fee....Still no offer of any type! Then as no one else came or left a car was available for me to have all of the sudden? I had to wait another 10 mins for him to get that car ready.....Doesn't seem like much but after the initial complication anything was too long! Then was asked to write a good review as he sat there and waited, I played like I was submitting it but didnt....I haven't even returned the car back yet? After returning the car the same individual asked how everything was and I just waited patiently so I can be done with this ordeal!
