My car is being repaired due to an accident, and I was given the choice of getting a rental through Hertz or Enterprise. I made a massive mistake by choosing Hertz. They were supposed to pick me up at the body shop, per my conversation with their representative, but they never did. I waited two hours, and when I called the rental location, repeatedly, the call rang and rang and was ultimately disconnected. As a result, I've missed an afternoon doctors appointment and had to rearrange my day. Unbelievable that it is impossible to speak with a person about concerns related to a rental. read more

Made an online reservation for a cargo van as it's the cheapest option right now with the craze of rental cars. Total was ~600 for 12 days. When I showed up to pick it up the two employees there, one being the manager, were rude and uninterested making it seem like they were doing me a favor. I don't have full insurance coverage at the moment and they proceeded to tell me I couldn't rent the van unless I got the full coverage option which brought the total to 1600. I arrived at 10:30am and didn't get full information and knowledge of the situation until noon. And I didn't even rent it at the end. Would advise others to consider other companies and locations as this was one of the worst rental car experiences I've had. read more

Poor customer service, poor communication between corporate and local level, glitchy app. Reservation was from Tues 3 to Sat 3. No one was in the office till after 4 leaving me to wait outside 93 degree heat as I was dropped off. When they got there they couldn't have cared less about me. Office closes at 12 Saturday but reservation was for 3 Saturday. Go somewhere else. read more

I booked through priceline and never got an option to leave a review on there, so I came to Yelp. The guy who checked me in was working by himself despite another guy working there barking at him. Well, Juan was great. There were 3 different families being helped at the same time. Juan was professional and friendly. He was courteous, and never stopped smiling despite the jerk who was doing nothing, being a total you know what. He took me out to my car when it was ready and made some great recommendations. So my mom is getting out of the hospital and needs my help in TN so I reserved a car on line and all was good. Until we went to pick the car up and - surprise- my debit card wasn't sufficient even though it was all approved online. Do not rent a car from Hertz rental car, period. They do not care what you want. They only care about moving cars and getting your money. They overcharged me for the rental of a car. I also tried to upgrade to another car and I had to go to another location. The man working at this Center does not care, does not smile, does not have any interest other than seeing your credit card and driver's license, and moving the cars. There are also cars for sale here and there is about five or six men standing around waiting to help anybody who wants to buy a car, but there's only one person who rents the car. The phone rings and rings and rings with no one answering it, and people stand in line waiting to be helped any salesman just stand around talking to each other. And the one guy working in the rental counter doesn't move very fast, is not concerned about making sure the customers happy. Hertz really needs to fix the way this process works. They need more than one person working on Saturday, the busiest day of their week. Oh, and after I returned my vehicle, 2 weeks later and I still have not received any invoice. So I went in today to get one. And, once again, the same scenario: salesmen standing around not answering the phone or helping anybody, while this one guy is helping a line of people. I left because it was taking too long. Just overall, a bad experience. PS. If you try to upgrade after you have started renting a car, Hertz will backtrack the rate to include every single day that you have rented the car and charge you for it. I moved up from an SUV to a minivan on day 3 of my rental. The company charged me for those first three days for the minivan, even though I never used it. They said it's company policy and would not change their mind. read more

Recently used these guys for a week long business rental. I dealt with Craig, who is the Branch Manager. Craig was very accommodating on making sure I was pleased with the vehicle. 1st vehicle I was assigned smelled like smoke and Craig quickly switched me to a different vehicle that I was more satisfied with. I spend a lot of time traveling and in rental vehicles. I could take my business anywhere but choose to do business with this Hertz location. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the limited inventory. I have used these guys probably 4 times in the last 6 weeks and they have earned my business. My belief is you do business with people that appreciate your business. read more

This is the absolute worst location. They overbook, don't bother to call and tell you and just say "oh well". Meanwhile you have to wait over 30 mins in the office for them to tell you this all while there are people just sitting or wandering around. Go elsewhere. read more

My wife and I bought a car from this location. Our sales guy's name is Chad. He is super professional, courteous, and helpful (10 stars for him!). He told us all the fees up front, what was getting paid for what. We took the car that we were looking at for a test drive. He explained everything about the car. When we got back to doing paperwork, he recommended that we get SC driver's license to save on expenses, since we were from out of state. We wouldn't have the time to get them for at least a couple of weeks. Throughout that time, he checked up on us periodically to make sure that there weren't any issues in getting new licences and even followed up with us about the status of our financing. The night that we bought our car, we got there at about 5:45pm-6pm. After doing some paperwork, my wife and I decided to look into car insurance policies. He was super helpful in guiding us through the process, while staying within the insurance requirements. Since we just moved, the new policy was requiring us to provide more information than normal and so we faxed what we needed to fax and got our financing done as the insurance was getting dealt with. When we finished the financing process (which we actually got a better deal, since Tom our financing guy helped us out there!), I called the insurance just to make sure that everything went through and that I can provide proof of insurance to Hertz. For whatever reason, they were not accepting the documents we gave them and so they said that they won't be able to issue the policy. Chad took the liberty to talk to the insurance folks on my behalf (mind you at this point it is already past 8pm and they technically close at 7pm). So Chad stuck with us, spoke with the representative, AND their manager, and was able to get them to issue the insurance policy for us, which I really appreciated. All that to say, we were able to leave with the car with no problems (~8:30pm), 1.5 hours AFTER closing, because Chad stayed with us! Again, Chad certainly went above and beyond! If you go there, definitely look for Chad. You won't regret it! read more

Have recently rented three times with this company and the customer service at the Store is exceptional. Hertz 1-800 customer service, on the other hand, was abysmal and beyond unhelpful - they almost made me stop using the company. But, when I remember the service of the front line people, and their helpful attitudes - I had to go back and will probably return in the future. Just don't make any mistake/ honest error in typing your reservation on line and pre pay. The company, not the real deal people in the store, are rude and quote policy like a script kitty on steroids! Shame they can t get their act together to present a unified awesome company. read more

We rented a car from this company for 7 days had no problems car ran good the employee we dealt with was great, we brought the car back exactly how we got it. We had a hard time getting our deposit back had to keep calling and calling and then they troy an additional 32 dollars today out of our account. They did not put our deposit back on our card like they said would happen. read more

I recently brought a car from them, to only find out the car was damaged. The manager and car sales-man even tried to blame it on me and said I need to contact my insurance company. I was driving (the speed limit) I might add and boom, my active grill shutter falls out. Luckily nobody was on the road in close distance. I actually contacted my insurance not knowing any better and the adjuster looked at the car and saw that it was previously damaged and whoever worked on it did it quick "cover up." This company is really selling damaged vehicles that could put you and your families at risk. After a week of fussing someone finally caught attention of the case and now offered to pay for the damages and the cover of a rental. I was asked what type of vehicle I would want to only end up getting the exact opposite. The vehicle I have is HALF the size of my current car no bells and whistles and I have all of that in my car. I will definitely NOT recommend Hertz Car Sales or Rental to anybody because they are all shams. I truly wish I could return this car. I never would have purchased a vehicle from them. Oh and they supposedly signed me up for the "extended warranty" which covers everything under the hood, bumper to bumper and come to find out it does not. Completely took advantage of a young single mother who was in desperate need of a better vehicle. I would have been better off keeping the vehicle I traded in. read more

Terrible customer service. This location tried to charge me "late fees" 1 week prior to my papers stating it was to be turned in. Thankfully, State Farm found their mistake and handled it. The manager was threatening, staring me down as I returned the car, and refused to go outside to check the cars appearance before I pulled off of the lot. read more

This was a prepaid rental, reserved a month in advance as it was a day-before-Thanksgiving pickup. I had no ride and was picked up at home in my assigned car for the 2-mile ride to finish the transaction. I was also driven home when I returned the car, as my husband was at work and couldn't pick me up. This was nice, as I expected I would have to take a cab--and was advised that if I did so, I would have been reimbursed. This type of pickup service is becoming more common with rental agencies, but I am glad Hertz now does it as well. The car was a nice, new one, though when I returned home, I discovered some food debris that someone had spilled on the rear seat, so I cleaned it. There was also some refuse stuck between the driver's seat and the console, which I also removed. Not really that big a deal. The tank, which I was told was full was not quite so, so I took a photo of the gauge and then another after I had filled the tank to show the discrepancy, for which I was credited $3 (meh). The rental rate was decent, and I did receive a discount as I am a AAA member. This also afforded me a $1.55/gal tank refill, though (my fault) the car was returned half full, so it wasn't as great a deal--but as I said, that was entirely my fault. If I ever need to rent again, this will be my go-to location. Sorry I have forgotten the agent's name who helpelld me. He was courteous and nice--though a bit frazzled because it was very busy due to the holiday. All in all, a pretty good experience, or, as the stars indicate, "i'm a fan"... read more

I returned a car after hours and parked in the front of their lot with the key inside. Two days later they called me and said they were charging me for two extra days since I had not walked in and put the keys in their hand. These people have shady business practices at best. read more
