I was losing 7 pounds of air per hour. When multiple stores wouldn't help. I needed to find a hertz before 5pm they saved a vehicle for me. We run a non-profit in the Sebring area which packs low cost, nutritious food for the hungry. An organization in Vero Beach partnered with us to conduct a food packing event in their facility in Vero Beach. I prepaid for a Hertz cargo van weeks in advance as we needed to transport over 1,200 pounds of ingredients and equipment to Vero Beach so their 35 volunteers could pack over 7,200 meals for the hungry. On the Monday before our scheduled Friday pick up, I called the Sebring Hertz office to insure that the cargo van would be there as it was very important, and I was told by a local employee that the van would be there for me. Two days before my prepaid rental I drove by the Sebring Hertz office and saw that they did have a cargo van on their lot. On Friday I went to the Hertz office at my designated (prepaid) rental pick up time and saw that my reserved (and much needed) cargo van was not on their lot. I went inside and waited while the one counter employee assisted a previous customer until she finally acknowledged my presence and asked if I had a reservation to which I replied yes, I am here for the cargo van I don't see on your lot. Oh that, my manager said to give that to another customer yesterday, so we don't have the van, sorry - was the reply. I was offered a suburban or a pick up which would not work - that's why I prepaid for a cargo van, and confirmed that a cargo van would be there. Since they were not considerate enough to at least call me when they gave away my reserved van I was left to jump through hoops 19 hours before our event which was planned and paid for months in advance. When I later made the problem known to Hertz Customer Service to get my money back, there reply was sorry we were not able to honor your reservation, your full refund will be posted in 7-10 days, thanks for being a 5 star member. In my opinion not only is the local office poorly run, but their Customer Relations department is also lacking. read more

Made a reservation here today at 5:25. Called and talked to the guy at Sebring Hertz and told him we were on our way. Get there before 6 and no one is there and the office is closed. No cars in the parking lot. I wonder where my rental was because the lot was empty! Called the number on the door and I'm rerouted to someone in another state. They file a complaint with the Corporate Office but are hesitant to give me the number to Corporate. Needless to say I won't be using them again. read more

As far as the friendliness and getting my car ready on time, that was on point. Serg was very helpful and friendly. My complaint is that all the cars are dirty, they're so claimed clean cars aren't clean. My rental needed a wash and vaccuum and good inside cleaning. I even had someone elses dirty kleenex in the middle compartment of my car. I don't know if it's staffing issues as he's the only employee I saw there. But the car was dirty and I'm pretty sure it was not disinfected. Other than that, Serg is professional, helpful and friendly. read more

When I called to bump my reservation up by a day I was informed that they didn't have any cars in but were receiving a truck from Tampa and I could check back later. I called the national Hertz number to change my reservation and they confirmed my free pick-up to the local reservation office. I called this Hertz location at noon to confirm they had received my reservation update and pick-up. They claimed no knowledge of my pick-up but said they would pick me up before my 3pm reservation. At 3pm I called this very small Hertz office less than 2 miles from my pick-up location and was told that the driver "probably got tied up" and "probably just left a few minutes ago". (They have a staff of 3 people. Should be too hard to do a head count.) At 3:30pm I again called this very small Hertz office and was told the driver was now at lunch. They never called me to notify me and after my due diligence to attempt a smooth pick-up, they fell flat on their faces. This location has very limited taxi options, so I had to walk the two miles to the rental office to obtain my rental, now WELL past my appointed reservation time. It was only after I returned to my mothers home that I realized they had released a vehicle to me without a license plate! I called the office and asked if I should return to pick up a plate and was told they don't have any plates there. When I asked what I should do, the rental agent responded "huh... that's really weird. I don't know." And offered no further options. Not impressed. Only rent from this location if you are in this area and must rent from here. read more

My husband and I have rented a car from this Hertz location twice and had a car delivered to Sebring airport. The first time the agent at the office did not check the car back in for a week and they reported the car stolen even though it was returned to the airport on time. The second time thankfully they figured out where the car was but still charged us $100 late fee even though the car was returned on time. It is really frustrating to have a car company be so unreliable with car returns. Both times it cost us extra and we may start renting from another company in spite of our frequent user status with Hertz. read more

Do not ever rent from hertz they first tried to give us false info on rates then charged $250 smoking fee when we didn't smoke at all!! My husband has pulmonary issues so the last thing we would do is smoke around him! If I could give zero stars I would. Stay away from this Hertz in Sebring if you can. I am a loyal Hertz Gold member for years and have never seen anything this bad. The Manager had a totally bad attitude and was not the friendliest. We tried to reserve with her on the phone yesterday trying to get my wife's corporate discount, but she wouldn't honor this. Instead we called the Hertz toll free number and they gave us the discount immediately. Once we got there to pickup our car, they didn't have anything available because they gave away our car in addition to the guy's car in line behind us. We left Hertz and went to Enterprise and had an amazing experience. The manager Mike hooked us up with a new SUV with a free upgrade. They had a lot of nice new cars and SUV's to choose from and were extremely customer service focused. Our Enterprise experience in Sebring really highlighted how bad Hertz was. Stay away if you can avoid Hertz, but realize there aren't a lot of choices in Sebring. read more
