Great place to rent a car…read more I frequently am renting cars from this place for leisure trip or a trip to JFK/Boston airport to pick/drop my family. This time I have booked a minivan for JFK trip and have special requirement for a 8 seat minivan. So that I can get a 3 seat in the middle row and my baby infant can sit near to the Mom and 3 year old daughter also can sit in the middle row. Also I have 10 luggage's to carry. Wow!!!. I have followed up with them for this requirement one day before and also the very morning of the renting day. Not guaranteed answer from some senior employees. But just before my actual booking time I got a call from Nicole and said she found a 8 seat minivan for me. She is found this from some other enterprise far from Manchester. What I know from others is that she is a new employee in enterprise. She did a good work .Great work Nicole!!!. She reached my home to pick me with that car the exact time that I need. The ride was good and my family was extreme comfortable with that trip. As my experience this a great place to renting a car. Couple of times I got brand new car for renting also good customer experience and never had a bad experience yet...

Long story short. There was an accident involving my rental car. I followed the process of filing a…read moreclaim with my insurance company and Enterprise. On my way to Enterprise, I stopped by to see a mechanic friend of mine at a local body shop to get a rough estimate of the damages. While examining the car, my friend noticed the front driver's side tire was worn down to the steel bands on the inside. He wanted to call the police and have the car impounded because it was not safe for me to drive. I told him not to that was only driving to Enterprise to return the vehicle. He told me he would not be responsible if something happened. I arrived at the branch and explained the situation to the assistant branch manager who just argued with me and downplayed my complaint. She then proceeded to advise me that because of the accident, I was being placed on their DNR list. I had not transportation and all my belongings were inside the rental vehicle. She stated there was nothing she could do and that she was closed and wanted to go home. She then locked me out of the vehicle with belongings still inside. She locked the store and left me stranded outside in the parking lot. The next day I went to retrieve my belongings from the vehicle and they been removed and placed in plastic bags inside the branch. While putting my belongings into my new vehicle, I noticed my backpack missing. This backpack contained life saving medications, my birth certificate, passport, cash and other valuables. I immediately reported it to the Enterprise employee and she made some inappropriate remarks to me, locked the door and left. I contacted the police and filed a police report. I checked with the body shop where the vehicle was towed and they did not have the backpack. That vehicle was in Enterprise's custody from 6 pm Monday 8/24 until towed to body shop. No one has any idea of where the backpack is. Enterprise claims to have reviewed security footage and did not want police involvement. How did my backpack just disappear? That backpack contains an emergency glucose kit that took me 2 years to get and I can die without it. To date, Enterprise has done nothing ro recover the backpack! I know they are covering something up! Please avoid them at all costs!!!!! Additional details available upon request!

Rented from Enterprise for a four day trip from Boston to Connecticut and New York, ending here in…read moreHartford. The experience was a good mini road trip, with no hassles or complexity from our rental. One-way car rentals are always quite a bit more expensive than a round trip, so was pleasantly surprised when finding a luxury car (Audi A4) rental from Enterprise being cheaper than an intermediate rental from competitors. It was for 4 days, with return happening at this location early morning before our flight. The Hartford airport has a modern rental car center, connected to the main terminal via an indoor land bridge. Returning was as simple as following the sign for Enterprise car return, leading us to Level 3 of the big parking garage. The attendant directed us where to park, actually scanned us in, and gave us a receipt right then and there. It was then an easy 5 minute walk to the terminal, taking a long skywalk to departures. The process maybe added 10 minutes to what it would have been if we had just been dropped off at the terminal. Addendum: There are a lot of tollways in Massachusetts, and I should have done a better job of figuring it out before we went...would have saved us time. Growing up in Illinois, I'm old enough to remember the workings of manual toll roads: planning out your route, determining how much cash you would need, and then either getting your loose change or changeable bills ready. During most times of the day, there would be lines so determining what queue was the quickest would add yet another driving decision to your trip. Then bulky transponders came out, allowing you to take the bypass (skipping all the cars in line) if you had a working one. After college, living in Wisconsin meant no tolls since the state has proudly never had them on any of their roads. Thus I didn't really keep track of tolling technology much except for the visits to Illinois for family, or the rare car rental in a toll-heavy state. My experience with rental cars and tolls is what really turned me off using a provided transponder. The concept of rental car agencies providing these were new, so wasn't much regulated then The rental car agencies used the same tact as they do for gas fill-up and collision insurance (liability insurance is already included as part of your rental): push it real hard to unsuspecting customers for convenience, but at very high (and profitable) prices. They would include a transponder in your car, and then offer unlimited tolls, for a daily charge often higher than the daily base rate of the rental itself. They would warn you if you didn't purchase it and either 1) use the transponder through a toll or 2) not pay a toll and thus have the toll agency send a bill to the rental car agency much later, they would fine you an amount much greater than what what you would have originally paid. This wasn't as big a deal when there were still manual toll booths to pay as you go...but with the disappearance of them (Massachusetts no longer has any manual booths...everything is electronic), it became a lot trickier. Thus we've chosen to just skip toll road altogether, but we found that this was a huge time suck...a lot more than anticipated. We were still able to do so on this trip, but added a lot of wasted time and stress. For our next car rental in heavy toll road areas, we will consider this (if renting from Enterprise...guessing its similar for other agencies as well...there just wasn't much documentation on-line before...it seems a lot better now): 1. Get a EZ-Pass transponder from a state that doesn't charge a rental fee (like VA or IL). Once we get the rental, tie the license plate to it, turn off the rental transponder. OR 2. Rent a transponder. Every day that it is used, there is a $3.95 fee, maximum of $19.75 per period i.e. 5 days max), plus the toll itself. OR 3. Some states (like Massachusetts) will just bill to the license plate without penalty. Enterprise will not charge a penalty, but instead just act as if you had used their rented transponder (i.e. $3.95 fee daily plus toll). #3 is the case for a lot of other states as well (CO, FL, TX, NC, GA, WA). Previously, I had conscientiously checked the state site to pay for the toll by license plate before they billed the car owner (rental agency) triggering that massive fine. Good to know that rental agencies have gotten rid of that tactic, either because it was better for the consumer or more likely because they were forced to by the individual states.

Jack picked me up at the auto shop right on time, and helped me with my daughter's car seat, even though he really didn't have to. The other employees, Alex and Sasha, were so nice to me and to my daughter, and they helped me get set up with our rental, even though it's really not their responsibility. They even gave me a free upgrade to an SUV, just because I waited for about an hour for things to get sorted. Again, they didn't have to do this! When I finally decided to return it I was eight hours late. Because of that they charge me for a whole day. When I asked was there something they could do to help me out where I didn't have to pay for a full day. Maybe a late fee or even at a discounted rate I was told very rudely by the representative there was nothing they can do. I've given this business 10,000 dollars of my hard money only to be treated as if I was trying to get over on them. I was told by serval people not to rent from this location being that they were very rude to their customer and at times I did feel it but I don't like change so I went with it. However after this last experience the East Hartford location will never see my business again. I would like to send a special shout out to Alex however he's the only reason I had stayed so long.

She was very personable, thorough, and a real joy to deal with. VEHICLE REVIEW- 2 stars Very limited choices in their fleet, we wanted a sedan, were promised a VW sedan, but when we arrived, they didn't have one available. Our 2024 Ford Escape SUV had plenty of scratches on the exterior surface and the exterior was full of tree pollen (the cars are stored behind the building by trees). There was a cigarette burn and a stain on the front passenger seat. Katherine did a thorough job documenting these deficiencies with us, so thankfully there were no issues when we returned the rental. We did notice that the car's transmission had a lag when you accelerated from a full stop, like a heart palpitation skipping a beat. That made us a bit nervous. After some supermarket shopping, we went to put groceries in the trunk and discovered a piece of trash peeking out from under the trunk compartment lid. Apparently, a previous renter really like Backwoods Russian Cream cigars. The AC and stereo and brakes were excellent. Overall rating of 3.5 stars.
