If not for the staff, I would give zero stars if possible. I am not saying anything negative about the staff - they were GREAT and as helpful as they could be. Besides, they don't make policies. But Hertz is AWFUL. First of all, I reserved a Jeep Compass or equivalent 2 days in advance. I got there and they had nothing of the like. I had to settle for a sedan for a camping trip. Imagine that. When I got home to pack it, the car had bottles underneath the seat and Starbucks napkins. It also looked like someone had hauled a dog around in it. To top it off, they held my deposit on my credit card for OVER a week (over the 7 business days they claim is all they would hold it for - nearly $400) which is inconvenient since I paid with my debit card at the end of my transaction. Horrible service. The worst. Save yourself the trouble and go ANYWHERE else! Start to finish, nothing but horrible. Pulled into the lot - no place to park. Inside, 6 sales people sitting around but NO ONE working the service desk. Other customers were asked to choose a vehicle and then had to wait for it to be serviced (oil change? Really!) and cleaned. Vehicles were NOT even remotely ready. Customers were helped randomly, out of turn, which frustrated everyone. Finally, we were given a Nissan Versa with a large dent in three passenger door and a number of gouges, scratches, and dings which the rep explained I wouldn't be charged for while taking pictures with his phone of all the damage to the vehicle. Unbelievable! *fyi - called Hertz Cust Svc after leaving and they exchanged the vehicle and upgraded it for my trouble at a DIFFERENT location. read more

I came here only because of a state farm claim. The office rental area is a cluttered mess, the reservation by state farm couldn't be found and it took far too long to complete a rental. During the time I was trying to rent this car the clerk taking my information just took a call and a whole other reservation while I wait. Very unprofessional. McDonald's is more professional and clean. I wouldn't ever pay to rent a car here. read more

Hertz Rent A Car - Hertz - Car Rental Near Me - Woodhaven, Michigan

The rental car had significant exterior damage but was offered for rent / sale anyway. The car reeked of the smell of marijuana but the agent claimed that a ozone machine was used to remove the smell. Once the car was rented (after waiting for several days for it to become available), it was stolen from my driveway!!! No glass was on the ground (no sign of window breakage) and the key fob was inside the house. Of course, it caused my husband and I to freak out and go to the police station in a vehicle we already own and immediately to report the incident. When the officer was preparing the report, he informed us that the car was already on an impound list. We let officer that it was a rental car and he then let us know that the vehicle was reported for impound prior to the rental date and prior to us first viewing the car! We gave the report number to Hertz by calling the toll free Roadside Assistance (as directed by their customer service). In addition, there were multiple charges placed on our credit card account from Hertz. We repetitively visited the Hertz location to get a resolution to what was happening with absolutely no action or explanation. read more

I had a horrible experience here. We went through four cars and they all had issues and I was forced to leave with one that smelled like cigarettes and had a coolant light after driving for an hour. They were very unprofessional and wanted me to bring the car back after I had already left the state. I will never get a car from hertz again let alone not from the airport. The only reason I am giving a 1 star is because Sal (who is the only decent person in this place) he was the one who finally did the right thing. My friend rented a car from them, of which she had to go back the next day to have them put wiper fluid in,it was bone dry. Being winter she had been driving in the snow when she noticed no fluid. Now back to returning it. The so called manager AL told her he would have to charge a $250 cleaning fee. Plus the gas was not at the same height as the picture they took when it went out. I myself have rented many a car for different reasons, though I've always used Enterprise, never any problem with them. Anyway I asked AL to show me what he considered dirty. A few hairs on the back seat, of which my friend is a single women no kids, no reason to be in the back seat. So I said to him what about you giving her a car with dirty back mats and no windshield wiper fluid ! Well of course that was OK by their standards. I said OK we will go vacuum it and put more gas in the tank and be right back. So we cleaned and wet wiped the doors and front dash and the back seat. When we got back Sal said AL was gone. OK? he new we were coming right back. AL had told Sal to check the car in and leave a open contract so Al could charge her the $250 then say he was going to try to clean it for her so she could get her money back! SCAM right there. I went all into mother mode on Sal while he was on the phone with AL. I told him we are not leaving until she gets a clear end of contract receipt. Poor Sal he kept apologizing to us that he's sorry he's just the middle man. In the end Sal did the right thing and gave her a closed out receipt. My guess is Al tries to take advantage of women renting at this establishment!!! I will be calling the main office, not that they will do anything. I can see by all the negative reviews they do this all the time. As for the 4 lazy people sitting at their desks through out this ordeal, there are no words. read more

What a joke this place is. I go to rent a car from an insurance claim and get there they act like I'm bugging them this morning am give a number to call before I can get a car only to be told oh it might take awhile cooperate don't open till 9am. Ask what this is about all I'm told is this needs to be resolved before I can do anything. I know I had reservations about going here they OWED me 171.76 for over a year fought everyday to get my money back they thought it was a joke. my ma got in a car accident on sunday and her insurance company referred her to here, the people who work there didn't have a clue what they were doing and couldn't find the person she needed top talk to, to top it all off the one lady tried selling her a car. They accepted our reservation and took the money off of our debit/credit card. I dropped off my fiance because I had to work and we didn't want to leave one of cars are there, he then found out the car wasn't there yet. So clearly reservations are pointless. They said it wouldn't be there for another 2 hours. Had no regard for the fact that my fiance was not only stranded but he was also going to be late to work. Then they proceeded to tell him that they don't accept debit cards when they've already taken the money. So that made no sense whatsoever. My fiance was furious. The icing on the cake....we won't get our money back for 10-14 business days Since when has it ever taken 2 weeks to refund money to a card? That being said, the employees were rude and inconsiderate and all in all it was a waste of time. My fiance went down the street to Enterprise and got the most amazing customer service. No card issues and we got a car same day with no reservations. read more
