My server was painfully pierced and tattooed and if the wind got a hold of her, she's look like a sheet of wallpaper flying down the street. We've been going here regularly for thirty years. NO MORE!!!. Me and my family(wife and daughter) went there tonight. I ordered the chicken kiev. My wife ordered a ham sandwich(which was OK). My daughter ordered a hot dog with fries. After well over a half hour, our order finally arrived. My chicken was ice cold. I told them I didn't want to pay for my meal, and wasn't charged. My daughter ate her hot dog, then started on her fries. underneath the fries was a limp piece of chicken that was deep fried with the fries. I was very upset and didn't think we should have to pay for that either. The waitress was very rude and said that even though the limp chicken was buried under the fries, my daughter ate the hot dog and made us pay for it..They even called the cops. We've been going here three times a month for thirty years. We spend on an average of twenty bucks a visit. That's $720 dollars a year times 30 years!!! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for treating regular customers with so little respect. I will never step foot in your place again. I would have been happy to give this restaurant a good review, but after this, uh-uh. read more

Although it's been years since Ive been there, I do have fond memories of it. As old and dated as it is, it has only been around since the early '70s. I was 1 of it's first customers. Well, me and my brothers were. We went in there for hot chocolate after watching Beneath the Planet of the Apes in 1970. The restaurant was newly opened. It was a pharmacy before that. Anyway, I frequented the place for decades after that. Stopped going there in the early to mid '90s though. Up until the late '80s, they some of the best coffee. But after that, they cut corners on it. Didn't taste as good. I always liked the food. As mentioned by others, it was always at a great price. Up until I stopped going there, you can always get a meal that will fill you under $4. I remember getting a Hamburger, fries, coleslaw and a coffee for under $3. It's probably not much more than that right now. Anyway, if youre in town and need a place to eat with fair prices and endless cup of coffee., Hessville is the place to go. This place has been around since the forties I think. It's one of the few restaurants still out there where there is no smoking or non smoking section. The waitresses are all pretty much old enough to be grandmothers and more than half of them are crazy as hell!!! The owner is a total dick. If I could, I would gladly go in their everyday and jump on the chairs in their with my shoes!!! The food is greasy. Great if you've been drinking all night. I definitely recommend the skirt steak and eggs. Price is very reasonable. They are very inexpensive which helps a ton if you've been out drinking most of the night and have no cash left. The other highlight is at 3 am when all the bars on the Kennedy strip close everyone migrates to the restaurant. There's always a great show there. Some redneck and his woman fighting in the doorway. Love to hang out there The food is a bargain....more pancakes than you can eat for around 3 bucks....more omlette than you can eat for around 4. Waitresses are good and really quick to give refills. They smoke everywhere here and though I don't it doesn't bother me....I rather like it...sort of a human thing in an age of rather inhuman puritanism and the omnipresent nanny state.
