The food was fresh and hot. I ordered bacon, eggs and cinnamon toast and a small grit. Now, looking at the grits I thought that they were too loose. However, I was wrong. Those grits were perfect, creamy and cooked to perfection. So don't judge the book by its cover. The restaurant was Clean and well lit, natural sunlight. The owner and her grandson were very nice. The service was very professional and very nice. I would visit them again. This truly is a Mom and Pops restaurant, very quaint and quiet. They get regular local customers every day. read more

I can just say it is my favorite breakfast spot in NW Indiana. The food is amazing, service is always good, and as breakfast places go it is reasonably priced to the point where if I lived closer it would be a weekly visit. As a side note this place does amazing hash browns, which for some reason many places screw up. read more

We got the turkey and chicken Parmesan. The turkey tasted like it was reheated and I didn't care for the stuffing. The breakfast that people were ordering around us looked good. Hubby and I stopped here after our quarterly haircuts nearby and were greeted with happy hellos and smiles. We enjoy finding a restaurant with late or 24 hr breakfast and loved the large and varied menu. Hubby ordered the Optimum Omelette and I ordered the Pisot Skillet. He loved his omelette and the skillet was a happy surprise--filling but so good! Our server was very friendly, just enough attentive service. There were other customers, but the noise (and music) level was kept at a friendly level so you could speak with your tablemates without shouting. We were given a pitcher full of water which was very convenient as we used it several times. The dining area appeared clean, reasonable prices, and wait time was minimal. Sometimes you stumble upon a place that has good coffee, good food, and nice ambience and meet the most exceptional people.. Omelette house restaurant is one of those places. What makes this place so special as that, well I'll start from the beginning.. my mother-in-law Joan was one of a kind. She had a very hard life, but she always kept smiling. She worked very hard sometimes three jobs to support her daughter and son. Fast forward to years and years later and she decided to move to Schererville. She like this restaurant for the good coffee, the good food and especially the people and when I say people I'm talking about the waitresses that work there and some customers, but mostly the waitresses. She would joke and smile and laugh. I just spend a portion of her day here. It would bring joy to her and a smile. Joan passed away in June 2025 and her daughter and I, my wife happened upon your in October and after ordering breakfast and having some of their good coffee, we asked a server if they knew Joan, my wife produced a picture and they knew her. She would go to see how she brought laughter enjoy and was a very kind person. We knew this already of course but it's nice to hear it from other people.. there may be places with gourmet food or other things, but this place will always hold a place in our hearts. Breakfast is good. It's delivered to your table hot and fresh. The coffee is good as well, they buttered my toast, which is always a huge plus, for some reason a lot of restaurants don't do that anymore since Covid but I really like that. I can't wait to try new things here we don't go out much, but I occasionally like to stop here for a good breakfast. 5/5 FaceTime great food, great coffee, and the best waitresses around. read more

The nicest people ever work here! The place was crowded, but we were seated almost immediately as a table of 5. They left pitchers of water at each table, so there was no need to wait for somebody to refill my glass. I ordered their fresh cinnamon apple pancakes and they did not disappoint. This is the best food I have ever had in my entire life. I ordered the huevos rancheros from here, and when this food came out, it looked like an absolute masterpiece. As I took my first bite, a tear rolled down my cheek. The flavors that dispersed into my mouth were so fresh, delicious, and pure, I was captivated. My favorite breakfast place when I am in this area for work. My coffee is always full, the food is always great and the service is always fast and friendly! They have these breakfast specials that for the price, you get a good amount of food. I tried the country fried steak and it was perfect. Crunchy on the outside and tender steak on the inside. The hash browns are perfectly crisp and the eggs are made to order. I also got a side of French toast with sausage and bacon. Love this type of sausage link that has the "snappy" skin. read more

Im on a long multi-state road trip and one of the best places to eat near my home is also called The Omelet House & there were a lot of cars, so figured those were two good reasons to try this place. I had been thinking of pancakes, but when I saw they had fresh in-house made potato pancakes and it was their specialty that changed my intent. Glad I did. Oh my! I've gotten potato pancakes thst had onions that were barely cooked, with undercooked potato's, or so thin that they were just an appetizer - none of these were a problem here. Absolutely perfect potato pancakes!!!! Wish I had a plate of them right now. Also ordered a soft boiled egg and bacon and both were also perfectly cooked. This restaurant has great cooks obviously. The diners, other than me, all seemed to be locall and many were obviously repeat customers based on how they were greeted, which to me are always an excellent sign. * My coffee cup was never allowed to run run!!! It's Christmas Eve, so we stopped here for breakfast before doing some last minute Christmas shopping. This is my first visit. What I enjoyed most was being greeted with a warm welcome. Every server was smiling and interacting with customers. They seemed to love their jobs. The coffee was delicious, and I didn't have to beg for a refill like other places. I ordered the South of the border omelette, hash browns and blueberry pancakes. The serving size was huge. I could barely eat a fourth of it. The food was delicious and I hated to waste so much food. The pancakes had fresh blueberries and they were so sweet. The omelette was fluffy and full of fresh tomatoes, onions, and cheese. I love this place and will be back! read more

Drove by looking for breakfast and pulled in here. Place was busy but we didn't have to wait long. Met some good people and the staff is very friendly. I ordered eggs Florentine with potatoes. Food came relatively fast and hot. Food was great fresh spinach and diced tomatoes on a croissant real sliced turkey topped with eggs and hollandaise sauce. Had orange juice and coffee that you will have to wait for they keep it coming. Great spot plenty of parking. read more

Really excellent breakfast this morning that we picked up to-go at the Omelette House. We are staying nearby and were not comfortable eating in during this Delta variant mess. The friendly person took our order over the phone and it was ready in ten minutes. We both had eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. It was all so delicious. Especially impressed with the amazing hash browns that were actually light and fluffy compared to the gummy hash browns some places serve. When we were here (a Friday morning) it seemed there were a lot of regulars. The staff was very friendly and remembered or recognized numerous customers. The seating area isn't huge, so we had to wait about 10 mins. It remained busy the entire time we were there. Just be prepared to wait to be seated. I got The Works omelette which came with hashbrowns and pancakes. Everything was great. The hashbrowns were buttery, pancakes were fluffy and the omelette was cooked great. I can see why they are busy. Great breakfast with very reasonable prices. It'll probably be busy, but worth the wait. read more

This place has a drive thru. Nice+ The waitresses are friendly and happy. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was filled with bits of mushrooms and zucchini broccoli tomatoes onions and I had to add cheese. The hash browns were shredded thick. I like the friendly servers and greeter and service for coffee refills did not disappoint. You get a slice of orange for "Vitamin C" that's love.
