The salad was crisp and the ingredients were fresh. The dressing was a bit too sweet, but still a good option.

This is a great place for a casual meal. The food was absolutely delicious, and the restaurant was spotless. Staff was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was really relaxing. I will definitely come back soon.

Forgot what I ordered but it was amazing !

Soup fries and sandwich outstanding!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND !! The people were very nice and welcoming. And the ambiance inside the restaurant was very vintage and trendy . I loved the overall experience!!

Great place to grab some coffee

Off the beaten path is accurate... The road to Great Lakes Cafe is rugged but worthwhile! Driving into the parking lot is sort of like playing minesweeper on Windows 98. Its also fun to watch the trucks drive under the bridges, with very little room to spare. The cafe is awesome and the service is great. Prices are what you'd expect, and the place has plenty of character. Reminds me of an 80's movie off a highway truck stop, and the ambiance does not disappoint! If you're looking for a good place to grab some breakfast & feel nostalgic, it doesn't get much better!

Ladies room is clean and kitschy

What a find! So glad we stopped here! Retro diner atmosphere, with well-prepared menu options. Our server Krissy, was friendly, funny, and very helpful! Whether you're on a diner-tour, or just passing through, stop here. They also do amazing breakfasts!!

There were eight other people in my party who ordered more complex dishes, and they all received their meals before I did. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes just to get my pancakes, and then another 30 minutes before the rest of my food came out. The restaurant wasn't busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff, so I'm not sure what caused the delay. Our server was quite inattentive throughout the experience. However, I do want to give credit to a young man who stepped in to help, his effort didn't go unnoticed and was appreciated. This wasn't my first time here, and I've heard great things about this place, which makes the experience even more disappointing. I'm unsure if I'll return, but I'm open to the possibility that this may have just been an off day. On a positive note, the restaurant was clean and it's a nice space for gatherings.

My little table was a wobbly trial. I spilled my coffee just by adjusting my position. Also my coffee cup had that large starburst crack in the bottom of it. Do they know that the glaze protects people from harmful substances in the ceramic leaching into the coffee? The coffee was very rich and tasty though. My wait time and my food were great. It was well plated as well. So the kitchen staff did a good job. Even the hash browns were how I like them. I was just so turned off by other issues that it was hard to enjoy the food. What a frustrating experience! Based on the service staff I would give them another try but based on maintenance and upkeep issues and management attitudes probably not! I cannot recommend this establishment, unfortunately. I am hesitant to return myself.

Our table was dirty/sticky/crumby when we sat down, the busser wiped only a portion of the table when he should have wiped the entire table clean. We saw ants near the window & on the floor. Waitress was kind, but didn't offer up much (ask us if we wanted coffee, other drinks, etc). Water glass was dirty at the bottom. Food came out hot, but chicken (chicken sandwich) was undercooked on the thicker end of the breast. We did mention this and they did comp us which was nice. This place is family-friendly however there is no changing table for babies/those in diapers. Food was fine, place was fine, but probably won't be back.

The atmosphere is nice and the place looks like it wants to be a solid neighborhood spot, but the execution just isn't there. The coffee was mediocre at best -- not awful, just bland and forgettable, especially for a café that clearly takes itself seriously. Drinks came out lukewarm and lacked flavor, like they were rushed or poorly measured. Service was polite, but slow and unorganized. Nothing outright rude, just a lack of attentiveness and urgency that makes the whole experience feel sloppy. Prices don't match the quality, which is probably the biggest letdown. I'm giving it two stars instead of one because the space itself is decent and there is potential here. But until the coffee improves and service tightens up, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to return to.

Let me tell you the coffee is a star so many times I'll go into a place and I don't like the coffee. here it is delicious. It reminds me of a place back home that we used to go to before they closed. So as far as checkboxes go, I've been checking a lot of them here they have Texas toast. They have homemade potatoes not that frozen store-bought garbage they have friendly weight staff and a lot of regulars. That's a good sign when you're looking at a breakfast spot. We have it for a skillet with the usual sausage, bacon, onions, homemade potatoes, etc. I also ordered Texas toast and the sausage gravy on the side. The food came within 10 minutes. It was piping hard and religious. We split it so they had it into separate plates, which was a very nice touch as I've gotten older. I appetite is not what it used to be so it's plenty of food to share with my wife . It came with three eggs, which was very generous. I ordered over medium and they came out. Perfect I ordered potatoes crispy and that's how they came out. Perfect. Everything was delicious. I don't normally get five stars on reviews, but they've earned it. This is a great place I just wish they were closer. It's about a 25 minute drive but it's well worth the drive Not a bad drive either. It's a cute little spot in the coffee is just delicious. I'm excited to try it for lunch as the cook Dimitri is Greek. I wonder if he makes any Greek specialties like moussaka .
