This place is such a gem! Foodie alert! A sweet little cafe, coffee shop, bakery, amongst a small, rural neighborhood, in the trees. It's on the corner of a semi busy little country road, in a very old, historic building. The big mural is nice. I love that they have a great outdoor space with many tables, picnic tables, cornhole, and a gated in play area for toddlers - with chairs inside there for parents. Very cool space! When we walked in, the place was so adorable, decorated very nicely, and all the goodies looked amazing!! Mama Judy was at the counter (the owner/ bakers mom), and she was so sweet and fun! Very cool that the baking kitchen is upstairs in the same building. We ordered all the things! It was hard to decide: We got the pumpkin bisque (soup) -- it wasn't like any I've had before. More so like thick, puréed pumpkin, not so much a traditional bisque. Not enough liquid added to make it soupy for me. But the flavor was decent. Not my fav though. Autumn grilled cheese: homemade pimento grilled cheese with bacon, cooked green apples, on this amazing homemade bread that seemed almost like a mix of cornmeal and flour... like a little corn grainy and crispy crust- so good!!! The pimento cheese was a bit rich and heavy for me-- BUT that is what pimento is lol it's rich and super creamy. Delicious cheesy goodness, but just put me in a food coma lol. Big portions too! We had to eat it with a fork and knife since it was pretty messy and hearty lol but that was fine. I can't wait to try other sandwiches like the Turkey Brie, etc. We also ordered a slice of the chicken pot pie. The crust was incredible - light and flakey. And the filling was very flavorful. Although the flavors were a bit different than I'm used to in a traditional pot pie. It seemed to have more of a maybe nutmeg and cardamom spiced flavor added in which was unique. You could tell it was made from scratch, and made with love. Just not sure if it was my favorite flavor profile for the inside. It was a little cold inside so probably needed a little more time to heat up. But still was devoured none the less. I got the Mae latte with oat milk, and half the sweetness because I am not a sweet tooth. Mine was good and had great fall flavors. My boyfriend got the Ann latte with whole milk. He said it was just okay and didn't taste like much. Then at the end of his drink, he realized all the spice and flavor and sweetness was at the bottom and didn't mix in well I guess. We know to mix it next time. Are we got a slice of Keylime pie to go. It was a very hard decision deciding which pie to take. I LOVED the key lime pie! To me, this is what real Keylime pie tastes like, with pungent tartness, and just a hint of sweet with a perfect graham cracker crust. My boyfriend did not like it because he is used to the fake, processed, really sweet, Keylime pie from the grocery store, that is not sour or tart like Keylime pie should be. Lol He's excited to try the apple Carmel, peach cobbler, etc next time. We were also given an amazing cookie to take home with us, that was such a treat and bursting with flavor! I forget what it was, but it seemed to have baked in Carmel and other things, Mixtown, and was crispy and buttery, and so incredible to our taste buds! They have a great menu with lots to choose from including quiches, mini sandwiches, different types of pies, baked goods, soup, etc. As well as lattes. They have some general pantry items on the shelves, both generic staples, and gourmet healthy treats. They also sell the cutest handmade knit hats and headbands, etc., that Mama Judy makes herself, and they are so soft and well-made! They sell premade, frozen pie crusts and chicken pot pie soup, ready to bake frozen cookies, etc. They have a selection of bottles and canned drinks in the fridges and other goodies as well. The location and outdoor space in nature is so peaceful and really sets the atmosphere in such a quaint, relaxing way. We can't wait to return and try other things. I love that it is all made from scratch with real and healthy ingredients used. A foodie dream! The owners story and background was fun to hear about, and I love that she had a vision and executed it, and is using her passion and creativity to build community! It's hard to just drive by without stopping at this wonderfully renovated historic building. They have done an amazing job of restoring it without eliminating its 'old timely' character. While thoroughly modern in many respects, it still feels a bit like stepping back in time. Having since researched some old photographs of the place, I have developed an even greater appreciation for the place. The quality selection of pies makes deciding on which one to select a very difficult task. I have discovered that there are no wrong choices. There are several tasty lunch options as well. There is also a great selection of fresh milk, farm fresh eggs, local grass-fed beef, frozen South Carolina seafood, vegetables, dry goods, hats, shirts, spices, and much more. We love this place and can't recommend it enough. The owner converted a stone home from the 1800's that had been abandoned for 40 years into an amazing store that produces and showcases their famous pies and treats. The store itself is very cool and welcoming and has a "old school mercantile" meets modern coffee house aesthetic. In addition to their own merchandise, the Hester Store also sells a wide variety of locally sourced goods and art work. It is a great place to pop in for a slice of pie or coffee and the outdoor seating area is amazing. Food was great and their retro logo'd tee shirts were a hit with my family at Christmas. :) read more

Had looked forward to trying her pies. So disappointed. Peach cobbler was a very sweet pie and the peaches had not been peeled! Difficult to cut and eat. Had not planned to eat lunch but decided to try the hotdog special. Again I was not impressed. Bun was dry, hot dog was barely warm. Prices were high enough that they could hire staff to prepare better. The building was charming. Outside dining was nice. read more

Super friendly workers and we love the small pies and coffees. Our favorites are the Key Lime pie and the Blueberry Swamp pie. The blueberry has huge whole blueberries and the Key Lime is just overall yummy ! read more

I tried calling the store ph # posted on their website (on Thurs & Friday) - which is not a working number. I finally went personally to the store friday afternoon to order a pie for tues pick up. I inquired about their phones & was told that the phone number was changed and was asked where I looked for their number. In which I replied- your website.. Then asked to order a pie for pickup on tues. Then was informed that they are not open on Tues.. I shared their web pages says they are. So, finally I asked if i could place an order for a whole pie and pick it up Saturday only to be told that they needed 48 hours for all pie order.. Sooo frustrating. You would think that a newly opened store in a small community would be a bit more accommodating. read more

This historic sight is worth the short road trip-only 15 minutes from downtown Greenville. Everyone is welcome and the kids have a fenced playground. I've tried many baked goods and LOVE them all. My favorites are hummingbird cookies, key lime pie or a quiche. There are a few gf/v items too. The building has been restored beautifully and a cheerful mural greets you. So happy to have this store in the area. read more
