Overall, the prices are competitive, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that some items are cheaper than buying online. It's a shame that they don't carry Chinese medicine in granule form. They also have a WeChat account that I can add, allowing me to order my medications ahead of time and pick them up the next day without waiting. The staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable when answering my questions. They also have designated parking spots for the store.

Horrendous "consultation", which was really just a barrage of criticism. At the end of the meeting, Julie said "you're going to start over with me" as if she decided she was going to take me as her patient before I decided to accept her as my herbalist. She proceeded to prescribe me several herbs, and then charged me for the next appointment! As in she charged me for two appointments, the one I had that day and the next one that I had no intention of making! I felt like she was trying to secure my business. This is woman is a predator and is out to trap patients and their money. She doesn't care about healing people, just to fluff up her own ego and bank account. Times are too tough these days to get bamboozled.

Well, it didn't take her long to get me up and moving. Within a couple of weeks I could walk up and down my mountain and at one point I was doing 8 miles a day. Winter is now over and I can get back to walking. I can easily do 4 to 6 miles a day on this mountain road. And by the way, I'll be 73 this summer. Yaaaa JULIE!!! It's true that years ago the front desk gal wasn't very organized or friendly, and I have had to play phone tag with her insurance guy a few times. But honestly there's ALWAYS delays in medical insurance, and I've had way worse problems at other doctors' offices. The medical field is just a tad disorganized overall. BUT, they've upgraded to a well organized, quirky woman for the front desk. I've been through several insurance providers over that time and our coverage has varied but I've kept going to Nature Family Medicine even if it means paying a little more out of pocket. I could barely walk or get in and out of a chair without severe pain. I had initially visited a chiropractor, who did nothing but use handheld 'thumping devices' for pain relief which did absolutely nothing. I met with Kyunghee No, LAC and she immediately put me at ease and had a easy going personality. I told her this my first acupuncture experience and that I was a chicken when it came to needles. She laughed and put me at ease and said I wouldn't feel a thing. She was right. Seeing as how my back pain was so severe, she had me lay on my back vs my stomach and began applying the needles to various parts of my body. After about thirty minutes of laying on the table looking like a porcupine, she returned and began removing the needles. She then gave me some PT to work on to help loosen up the tight muscles in my back. I got off the table feeling somewhat better then went I first got on the table. Though this is my first visit to City of Joy Herb and Accupuncture Clinic, I was thoroughly impressed with her demeanor and personality.
