A small convenience store at the corner of 4th and Adams. I've never been sure whether the place…read moreis called "Adams Market" because it's at the intersection with Adams, is called "Adam's Market" after someone named Adam, or is called "Adam Market" as it's sometimes rendered in other online results. The great thing about this place is the owner, who is jolly and sarcastic and funny, although his wit does tend to run a little absurd and not a little dry. Almost as great, though, is the selection of Middle Eastern foods. It's a great place to stock up on boxes of mahmouls for cheap, or to get tins of stuffed grape leaves, which are a vastly better snack than the paltry selection of heavily-processed junk food. Fresh, but limited, but huge, baklavah. The real wonder, though, is a small row of sodas in the back. Not the fancy burdock-and-ass English stuff, but the selection of Lebanese fruit sodas by Kazouza, the best of which is the watermelon. None of them are HFCS-loaded crap, but the watermelon nonetheless captures the fanciful watermelon flavor of something like a Jolly Rancher without being too cloying (at least, for the first few bottles.) It's so wonderful. Like, it completely changed my view of carbonated beverages. It's also a reliable place to get ayran, which is good when the Kazouza gets too sickly-sweet. Also, the brand of ayran they stock is also very useful as a yogurt culture, and at least with the milk from my goats that I tried it with, it resulted in some absurdly-thick and wonderful stuff. Some of the staff other than the owner can be a bit grumpy or difficult, and some of them are quite sweet and outgoing. Still, it's hard to fault the gruff ones. It's the most centrally-located and only late-night convenience store in downtown Olympia. It's a great place to rub shoulders with people who are drunk at noon and people who are far gone in the middle of the night. It really functions as Olympia's only Middle Eastern market. International Spice and Halal used to carry much of the same stuff, and since it closed and its owner moved on to other things, this is the best place to go. And it does a good job of that, while also doing a good job of being a convenience store. A very cool place. Near and dear to my heart.

It's listed right on the menu that you can get any dish vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free. My boyfriend had the Thai fried rice with shrimp and he said it was the best he's had. You can get a thai ice tea with coconut milk. That's not always the case at other Thai restaurants. I wish this place was closer to where we lived. I would be in here weekly! Everything was super fresh. 5 stars plus!

Like many active toddlers, my grandson briefly stood on a chair and was jumping up and down. The owner approached us and, in what we felt was a very curt manner, asked that he stop. We immediately corrected him, and he complied without any issue. Unfortunately, what made the rest of our dining experience uncomfortable was that the owner appeared to keep watching my grandson throughout the entire meal. We understand the importance of safety and maintaining a pleasant environment for all guests, but once the situation had been addressed and resolved, the continued attention made us feel as though we were being monitored for the remainder of our visit. As for the food, we found the quality to be disappointing, and the portions were quite small for the price. We've dined at several comparable--and even higher-end--Thai restaurants where both the quality and portion sizes offered much better value. At the end of our meal, we asked for an extra takeout container for our leftovers. The owner initially handed us one but then took both the container and the bag back, refusing our request. We found this confusing and unnecessary. Overall, we left feeling rushed, uncomfortable, and unwelcome rather than able to relax and enjoy a family dinner. Unfortunately, the combination of the service, the food, and the overall experience means we won't be returning.

Let me put it to you this way: Need to pull off the freeway, get a healthy snack and use a clean bathroom?!? Say no more. This is the place. Go now. Do all of your shopping here. Plan ahead.

Some cleaning would go a long way. We purchased some cheeses, crackers, yogurts, falafel wraps, and miscellaneous snacks. I was hoping to get some baked goods as well but everything looked dry and stale. The prices were higher then we would pay elsewhere but that is to be expected. What wasn't expected was the flavor and quality of the items we purchased. We were very disappointed. It is important to support local but the payoff for the higher prices is typically higher quality and better service and unfortunately that was not our experience here.
