I have been very upset with my fiancé for accepting the unit in the condition it's in. There are spider webs all over anddust and wasps nests. My parents have had stuff stored in storage since '95 when we opened it after years inside is comparable. The two stars are for the open until 10pm. I have always been very satisfied with A1 in the past anytime I have used them. The Fullerton location is very good. It shouldn't be this bad. They charge enough for units that you would think they would take a pole brush for cob webs and dirt. I've seen rat/ mouse droppings in plastic bags of clothes and towels. I had to dump and trash lots of my belongings. One was a plastic drawer organizer While trying to get to get my clothes out of bags and into new boxes. I became very ill. The minute I smelled it I had a horrible headache and started vomiting. I had to leave half of my stuff. read more

I rarely write reviews but this place is the worst for customer service. I have been a customer for most likely over 20 years. I am in my 70's and get no discount. On top of that they raise the rates each and every year. This year the increase is again $20.00 a month. That is huge for people on fixed income and those financially affected by COVID. This increase is outrageous. Lastly they advertise that the facility is climate controlled. IT IS NOT. Only the office and the basement have air conditioning. The basement is as it sounds underground which means it is automatically cool down there. All the rest of the floors especially the top floor where I am is boiling. So, only come here if you want to be lied to and overcharged. There are never any carts when you need one. With all the excess money they charge they should buy some working carts, and ones that a senior can push. Go to any other facility. read more

Why do you guys charge extra for air conditioned units when the ac is barely running in that part of the facility. It used to be nice, crisp and cool since because you actually had the ac set to a normal cool temperature but lately in the last few months I notice every time I am down there it's stuffy and muggy and I sweat the second I step off the elevator. I think since you guys are cutting costs on your end with the lack of ac it's only fair you pass that savings on to all the renters who paid a higher rate for the specific need to have their belongings stored in a cool environment. When candles melt in a ac controlled environment what does that tell you about the ambient temperature down there? The facility manager Scott is a real piece of work. I don't know what right he thinks he has to pop his head inside of our unit. My wife and I were bringing some paperwork to file in our storage unit there and I had left to use the bathroom. When I came back my wife was all shaken up because she said while I was gone she noticed one of the managers there standing with his head inside our unit. She said before she could even reply that he just walked off. This is strange because our car was parked right in front of the unit so it's not like they didn't know we had just got there and were inside. Also how is it that right after I leave to use the restroom that happened? Was he waiting for me to leave to peep on my wife? I have seen this guy many times before and I knew who he was from seeing him in the office talking to Billy before. One thing I remember is he was extremely rude to Billy and he seems to be the type of guy that doesn't like other men but has women work under him so he can control them. He now has this girl Crystal working in the office and has her starting to do the same very invasive type of managing where she walks around and apppears to be trying to look inside people's open units. A few of the other renters have told me that the new girl Crystal was seen listing up people's doors that lowered the door because they either were in the bathroom or walking out to their car. Now I don't know what's going on there but when a customer pays for the rental and isn't violating any of the rules, what right do you guys have to stalk and spy on your renters? My wife and I are looking for a new palace to store our stuff because this is just not a good way to treat good renters. I don't like the fact you guys think the way your spying on people isn being noticed and it's making people feel very uncomfortable. Some people house sensitive things inside there units from paperwork to antiques to whatever and I don't think they would feel comfortable thinking your scoping there goods out because that's what thieves do before they break into someone's unit there. When your renters are good people with a good long track record leave them alone. Billy managed the place very well, he treated people good and left them alone unless they were causing a problem and many times I know that when problems occurred Billy notified Scott of those issues and it was him who didn't want to act on the issue not Billy so the fact he got rid of Billy was to cover for his own mishandling of the events around there. Now that girl Crystal is a little minion of Scott and she is extremely fake. She will smile to your face and then tip toe behind you to see what is inside your unit and find out info about you that she really isnt entitled to. What she is entitled to know and enforce is if my bill is paid on time and that's it unless we are violating some rules which we are not. You guys may think your doing a great job policing every little detail but the security there is a joke and to be honest they care more that it appears to be a safe place to store your stuff then it actually is. Because of the shady behavior of both Scott and Crystal, you should really be questioning the motives of the management there and how safe your stuff really is since they seem to be taking a inventory of people's private property. If something gets stolen look no further then the management there. One Sunday my wife and I witnessed someone breaking into one of the units and we called the emergency number for the storage place to report it and waited there and the main number goes directly to the corporate office who is suppose to notify Scott the facilities manager, can you believe no one ever showed up that day. We sat there waiting forever thinking it was a Sunday so maybe they were just slow to come and no one ever came even though the person we spoke to said the facilities manager should be coming lol what a joke he never came because he didn't care. You better make sure you have good home owners insurance on your unit because if you read the contract for the insurance they provide it's a joke it barely covers anything. The management there is very shady and the people in the office are clueless. read more

This place is pretty good. Long hours, 6am to 10pm. The Dude that helped me out at the front desk was cool. Younger Bald Dude with glasses. Very friendly and customer service oriented. That Dude was rad. I went to 4 different places and glad I kept searching casue if I didnt, I wouldn't have found this unit but out of the 4 different places, I gor the best service today from that Dude. He helped me out and got me on my way super fast too. I got a great deal on a unit and the place looked very secured for sure. You get a free lock too. A1 self storage is the place to be. I love how easy it is for me to get in and out. They are flexible with me when i need to push out paents a day or two. They are just overall great people. We can pay online or in the kiosk. Would use them again for sure. A little pricey but worth the penny. The security is on point too. The customer service at this location ROCKS! When you live faraway, we were in Florida, and there are issues needing immediate attention and you have no one to call, it can be very stressful. Fortunately for us, there is a manager at this location named Billy, who went far and above his call of duty. We would have been in a bind a few times, if it weren't for him.
