Who doesn't love finding somewhat hidden gem of a place? This location is unassumedly in a strip mall with a music store and pet care business and was such a delight to enjoy. The menu is pretty straight forward but so many options with Taiwanese and Chinese street food type options and fresh noodle and rice dishes. We tried the cuttlefish ball and sweet and sour cucumber salad eppetizers, the original noodle dish with sauce on the side, non vegetarian street noodle choice and the braised pork on rice dish that comes with optional seaweed soup on the side. Everything was tasty, but the seaweed soup was the least favourite for our table. Cuttlefish balls were crispy on the outside, juicy and bouncy on the inside with a sliight sweetness. The Cucumber salad used black vinegar as the base and were not too strong or punchy but provided a nice crisp relief with the other dishes. The egg noodles were just great. Firm and chewy and did I mentioned never ending?? If you need more noodles to gobble up whatever sauce or broth you order just ask! And a bowl will quickly appear at your table, included in your price. The flatter egg noodle was very light and the rounder egg pasta more chewy, both were delicious and held on to the sauces perfectly. The braised tea/soya egg were hard boiled and flavourful and this rice dish was very kid friendly too, a great way to introduce kiddos to the menu. First review of 2026! New Year's Day lunch! The resto is really small, so I'm glad we came at a time when many tables were available. It filled up quickly after us. The ordering system is kind of confusing. You need to scan the QR code on your table, which right away, I hate when establishments do this. Once you scan the QR code, you order online. You don't pay but you need to put your order through here. They don't come to your table. It was confusing because my friend and I were only ordering for ourselves on our own phones, which made sense to us. However, because I put my order through first, it only accepted mine. We were waiting like 10 mins after my order came for my friend's order. Turns out hers didn't even go through! You need to order for the whole table on one phone. Anyways, she got her order 5 mins after adding onto my order. We both ordered Mild spice, mild numbing with egg noodles. This was just the right amount of spice for me. They actually give you a lot of noodles. I couldn't even finish it. They're super bouncy and have a great chewy texture. The beef brisket was tender and there was a lot of it. If you don't like fat or can't handle some fat, don't get this. But I like fat and this was delicious and flavourful. Taste like a classic Chinese beef brisket. I appreciated the cilantro. Love this place! Super casual, and authentic Chongqing Street food. It's very busy but the table turnover is quick so the wait is typically short. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Kids loved the salty crispy chicken appetizer. I have ordered the Sichuan Style Beef Brisket a few times and it never disappoints! They invite you to choose your noodle type, numbing level and spice level. Kids enjoy choosing their ice cream and watching it being dispensed from the machine! I'm hooked! 10/10 can recommend!! This has been me and my friends' go-to spot lately for late night eats (they close around 3am). My favs here are definitely the (1) sesame dry noodles, (2) peanut butter dry noodles, (3) fried chicken, (4), chicken and noodles in the pork bone soup base, (5) chicken and rice (this also comes with a small soup), and (6) the tofu appetizers. I've also been lately loving the cold noodles during this hot summer weather - I would just add an egg or some chicken for some protein. I usually go for the sweet potato noodles for any of the noodle dishes (this costs an extra $1 but well worth it). They recently expanded their menu and added some new desserts, including ice cream! I came by as a solo diner on a Saturday around 9pm. The place was so busy!! I was able to be seated right away but there was a long line forming soon after. You place your order by scanning the QR code on the table. I ordered the tomato and pork ribs egg noodle soup with mild spice and mild numbing. Loved the flavour of the soup and the chewiness of the noodles! The mild numbing was the perfect amount. Service was kind and fast. I paid roughly $17 after tip for my meal. Got some Chongqing Noodles as takeout on a chilly evening, because I anticipated this would be spicy lol. For ~$8 (which usually gets you an appetizer these days), it's a large portion of noodles, highly filling, and the spicy broth meant it took a bit of time for me to work through. The noodle was vegetarian, but the level of flavour in the broth quickly made me, a meat-lover, forget that fact. I really liked the peanuts and green onions which added a lot to the texture of the noodle, but I think it'd be nice to have a bit more texture, maybe by adding carrots or something similar. The portion size of the noodles itself was excellent for the price, and there was ample broth. Huge thumbs up for sending the noodles and the broth separately, so the noodles wouldn't get soggy. More on the flavour, it was super spicy - I picked mild, but was already panting halfway through the meal because I'm weak with spice, but there was a lot of depth in the spice and not just spice for spicy's sake, which is the case with some spicy noodles. I highly recommend, especially during the winter where something spicy really hits the spot. The value, flavour, and spice was all excellent. Finally found time to write since I visited this place about 2 weeks ago. Located in a plaza with enough parking spaces. The restaurant is small with less than 10 tables (from a vague memory). The server didn't speak much English, but did speak Mandarin to other customers. The popcorn chicken breading is not the Taiwanese style but more of a Japanese-katsu texture to it. The sauce could be better too. The plate/bowl it came in was deceiving as one might think you get a lot, but it wasn't deep. I ordered the tomato beef noodle soup. The soup based is a lot spicier than I would have liked. The noodles were nice and chewy. Half of the meat had some time of fat on them which I didn't appreciate. My partner had the original one and he said the beef wasn't the greatest quality. The boiled egg was cold and overdone. Verdict- they are open 24/7 somehow, so if you feel like something soupy, this place is open. They can improve on their service if one doesn't speak Mandarin. Though they have a few locations around the GTA, Hey Noodles was absolutely not on my radar before it was suggested as a lunch option on a recent Saturday. I figured I'm always down to try a place that has noodles right in its name, so off we went. We arrived around lunchtime and the place was sparsely populated. We snagged a nice table near the back of the restaurant and began perusing the menu. I wasn't sure what to get, but I knew that I wanted something with a high level of Numbing Peppercorn (I just love that taste and sensation), so I finally decided to go with the Chongqing minced pork with peas and requested Fiery Hot Chili Pepper Spice and the Ultra Numbing level of the aforementioned Numbing Peppercorn. (I should also point out that the ordering system is very cool. You load up their webpage and order everything through there, and when you hit submit, you can hear a ding from behind the counter.) The food arrived a short time later and it sure looked intimidating (and delicious). This is one enormous bowl of food, and my first bites told me that it was just as tasty as it looked. The broth is super flavorful, and the spice/numbing levels are exactly right. The various components are cooked and incorporated perfectly (and those "peas" are actually chickpeas). The noodles were perhaps a little soggier than I might've preferred, but that's such a minor complaint for what was otherwise one of the best dishes I'd eaten in a while. Went in with my mom. We ordered wanton and the noodle special with refills. The broth was good. Just fyi if anyone wants to eat this every day szechuan noodles are typically made with lard. So eat in moderation. The noodles came hot and the refills were made fresh and hot. There would be a 3min wait for refills to order I advance when your halfway through if you wont want to what-if they let you. I do want to highlight some concerns we witnessed. The staff were wiping tables with yellow rags, the same rags were used for wiping foot prints off the base of table and dirt carried in by customers on the floor. This location did not use separate mop for floor. The same rags would be rinsed by staff with no soap and the use of the rags were repeated from table to floor, from floor back to table top. We also witnessed in the kitchen prep area. There was a curtain over half the door entry to the kitchen. We witnessed a tofu dropped on the floor and the staff member left and returned with the same piece instead of discarding. I guess he rinsed it. This was going into readymade prep -no cooking. Over duration of my stay didnt see a kitchen mop over that floor 5 second rule!!!! When leaving the servers tried to give me someone else's bill. I noticed because our two orders were 6.99 each. Instead they tried to charge me someone's 10 and 13.99 meal. I guess they switched bill with someone else. So check your receipt. Seriously check your receipt!!! This location takes cash only.
