I've been a devoted Bliss facial goer until recently. In the absence of my reliable go to I defaulted to the dry bars of facials. The results were notable, but what you give up in experience you gain in price and efficiency. But for me I value the experience - the robe, the warm bed, the relaxing music. And HeyDay tries, it does - mood lighting, high tech equipment, etc. My facialist was friendly and my face was definitely clearer (extractions!), but it just went by to quick. I just use the experience to recalibrate and it felt like more of a drive by experience. I'm not saying I won't be back, New York pace might warrant a drive by facial - I just won't plan on it. ;) read more

My first experience at Heyday was a lovely one. I signed up for the 50 min facial in the hopes of curing my dry and dull winter skin. When I walked in the vibe was immediately calming. I filled out an online questionnaire with an in depth history of my skin routine, past, and current issues and desires. Right off the bat my experience felt personal and customized for me. I was taken back to meet my facialist Danielle D who was an ANGEL from the skin heavens. The space was so comfy compete with blankets and a phone charger. Right away Danielle asked me a great deal of questions so we could really customize my facial and maximize our time together. I could tell she really knew her stuff which made me feel in good hands. During my facial she explained why she was using specific ingredients and how I should be incorporating them into my daily routine. I felt like was learning and being pampered. She gave me such a nice shoulder massage which relaxed me to no end. Afterwards she set me up with a little bag of samples based on our conversations and when I got home she had sent me a follow up emai with an in depth report on what we spoke about and what I need to do moving forward to have great skin. I was really looking forward to my facial, as i have heard so many amazing things about Heyday. The woman who did my facial didn't explain much to me, and I had to tell her things about my (very sensitive) skin unprompted. It was also quite painful, and difficult to relax, as you could hear everyone else in the space talking. Now, my face looks WORSE than it did when i came, and I have acne in places I've never had it before. The only thing i learned about my skin is that the regimen I've been doing for years is far better than how my face was treated here. This is going to be a long review, so please bear with me. My boyfriend surprised me with a 3 month gift certificate good for 1 facial per month, I was thrilled as I'd never had a facial before, but have always wanted to. I headed over to this location the very next day. I walked in and was met with dead, glassy-eyed stares and no greeting. Okay. Fine, it's New York, land of no fucks, I know. Check-in went smoothly after I presented the gift certificate. Sat around for about 10 minutes, and was informed that my aesthetician was late for work, but would be with me shortly. I wasn't in a rush, so this didn't bother me. When I did get back there, I was optimistic until my aesthetician started talking. She questioned why I was there, stating my skin was nice and this wasn't necessary. I explained it was a gift and that as a chef, I am surrounded by grease, smoke and oils day in and day out so I thought it this was good idea anyways. She also dismissed my concerns with having sensitive, semi-dry skin, and claimed I have normal skin type despite several dermatologists stating otherwise. I asked her what brought her to that conclusion and she said, "you have small pores." That should've been my cue to just leave, but I didn't want to waste this non-refundable gift my boyfriend so kindly purchased so I slogged through it. A few extractions on the nose, some oils, and rushed massaging and out I went. The next day my face was red, burning and too painful to touch. It took nearly two weeks before it went back to normal but not before I suffered through a disgusting peel with no way to comfortably cover it up. Maybe in the future, Heyday can look into hiring knowledgeable aestheticians who don't dismiss their clients' concerns. In short, the bare minimum isn't being met here, and we all deserve better than that. read more

I've never had a facial before so I was nervous but excited to try it out here! I had the 30 minute with Eddie and I absolutely loved it. He walked me through each step of the facial, telling me what he was doing and why. I loved what he used on my face and purchased some items after, really quality ingredients. He recommend I see him in a month for extractions which I did. I had a ton of extractions for my first time which is understandable but he was patient with me and wanted to make sure I was comfortable through each step. I felt like I was at a high end dermatologist, that's how much I trust what this company offers. Really great experience, nice people at the front. After my second visit Eddie asked me if I would be coming regularly and I said yes, so I signed up for the monthly subscription! HeyDay NoMad completely saved my skin!!! I started visiting HeyDay since December 2019. My first appointment was originally for the 19th street location, I believe, and it was moved to NoMad due to a leak. I'm so glad that day I was sent to NoMad, because I've been a patron every since! My Skin Care Therapist Jacqueline M., is AMAZING!!! She has the BEST holistic approach to skin care. I loved the NoMad location, from the moment, I've walked-in. It's a lovely upscale spa, that follows a level of professionalism and in and out approach like other businesses, such as the DryBar and SugaringNYC. What I like about HeyDay is that more clean and natural skin care products are used like Eminence Organics and One Love Organics. The Skin Care Therapists here are real and honest, and do not try to push products or services on clients. Jacqueline was immediately identify that my skin was dehydrated, and certain services that I wanted to try like Microdermabrasion were not recommended for my skin's condition at the time. The chemical peels are gentle and there's no downtime to any service received. I've had peels, LED light therapy, and high-frequency added to my facials. All have been beneficial to the after-care health of my skin. Jacqueline and I were able to develop a home care routine for my skin which consists of pay attention adding more hydration to my skin. I've even added suggested products like the Emeience Stone Crop Hydrating Mist to my routine, which has completely reduced my skin's oil production. I will be a monthly client of HeyDay NoMad. My skin has made a complete 360 turn around. Anyone that is struggling with their skin definitely needs to check out HeyDay if you like a holistic approach to skin care methods! read more

The receptionist was extremely helpful and my esthetician, Chrissy, was also great. I've being going to Heyday for about 16 months now and have to 50 minute monthly facial membership. My monthly facial is one of the highlights of my month! The first few months of facials were kind of inconsistent and I wasn't finding that the the facialists were all that great. After sending Heyday an email after a particularly poor facial, they responded by asking me to come in for a complimentary re-do and paired me with someone I have been religiously going to ever since (for about the last 9 months). Danielle has been amazing, she is super consistent and focuses on my very specific skin needs. She has help to calm down inflammation and reduce redness that I have not been able to handle myself, and is incredibly nice. I've been to Hey Day three times and have gotten Romanka twice. I have to say she is the absolute best. She takes her time in "diagnosing" your skin's problems and chooses products that address those concerns. Romanka is honest with her recommendations and never tries to pressure you into buying products, but rather encourages you to continue with your current regimen and overtime, change 1-2 things to achieve desired results. As for the actual space, the spa is adorned with cute tabletop decor and modern furniture, cool music throughout and just has an overall clean, fresh feel. I definitely recommend Hey Day. Awesome salon. It's quiet, well decorated, and the aestheticians here are great. I had a lovely treatment, though very painful at times, she coaxed me through it and had great bedside manner (ha ha). My skin was puffy, and glowed afterwards. I noticed a difference, and wanted to go back after a month but then moved! I wish Hey Dey came to Toronto. This place is amazing. I've gotten several 30 & 50 min facials from Zen B. (who I HIGHLY recommend) and my skin has never looked better! Since I started coming here it's looked clearer and brighter than it ever has. It's customized for your skin/concerns, and Zen walked me through everything she was doing and gave me tips for what to do at home. They recommend products but never pressure you into buying anything, it's more about how to create a routine that works for you. The whole staff and environment if very friendly and welcoming. I've been getting facials for as long as I can remember. For the last year or so I've been getting facials at a place that is expensive and luxurious -- and not necessarily helping my skin and its needs. Something told me to try Heyday and I am totally sold. It's affordable, natural skincare products, really lovely people and a great facial. My esthetician (Liana) was extremely knowledgeable about skin and cautious to use anything that would aggravate my skin. No!!! Dont go here if you want extraction!!! The products they use are great and the place is cool! But if you want to get rid of the clogged pores on your face dont go here! Staff are nice. But now I have big pimple. Not planning to go back here. They will only use hot towel to open up your pores. Hmmm.... Had high expectations about Heyday. They have a real nice concept. However, my facial last Sunday was one of the worse facial I have had in a long time. I can strongly suggest not to go there if you need extractions. As another reviewer mention they will attempt to open your pores with a hot towel. YES! With a hot towel ! Making the extraction extremely traumatic for the skin and ineffective. I still have my clogged pores , the difference is that now my face looks worse and I might have some marks for a while. I can say my face looked 10 times better before. Now is oily and my pores seem to dislike whatever they applied. I did not like that my therapist did not clarify she was adding an "enhacement" for extra $35. Also, the whole experience is more like a medical/dental office. First time I write a review, but I feel like I just threw $100 in a trash can. This is my first and only visit to Heyday. I have had many facials in my life so I know when the aesthetician knows what they are doing. I decided not to go to the place I usually go and giveHeyday a try. My main reason was a huge pimple on my cheek. All my life, in every facial Ive gotten the exfoliation includes popping the pimples, even the big ones. Buy this time this girl told me that she couldnt pop my pimple because then I would have an open lesion in my face and then she could touch my face again. I left the "facial" with the same pimple I had when I came in. But had to pay $100 for 50 minutes of a girl massaging creams on my face!!! Im so outraged!! I used to rave about Heyday. I went every month and really enjoyed my facials. Recently, however, my experiences haven't been so great. It first started with an esthetician who was super pushy about products. I told her that I was on a budget and wanted an affordable skincare regimen, and she responded that anything under $80 wouldn't be worth it. Really? When they have plenty of products under that price point in the salon? Huh. She also kept trying to get me to commit to an add-on service, and only backed off after I told her "no" for the third time. Recently, I went back for another facial. The facial itself was fine, and the esthetician recommended a face wash and moisturizer that I ended up purchasing. I took it home and, after a week of using the new products, my face was breaking out in a BIG way. I've never had acne or bad breakouts, and this stuff was wreaking havoc on my face! I gave it a while longer to see if it was an initial reaction, but no luck. When I called Heyday to see what my options were, I was told that they only give store credit for items returned UNOPENED within 14 days. How are you supposed to know if something works for your skin if you can't open it? The guy at the front desk in Tribeca offered me a 30 min facial, which was nice, but I'm still left with the option of accepting that I'm out $60 for lotion or taking another, potentially poor recommendation and spending more money, neither of which leave me very happy. Basically, the facials are good and the vast majority of the estheticians are great, but the recommendations are iffy and the return policy nonsensical. If you want a product, I highly recommend asking for a sample first. read more

I just had my first facial at Heyday - what a treat! The concept - making face-care a regular part of your wellness regimen - is brilliant! There is a no-fuss, 'facials-for-all' mentality here that I love. Plus, booking appointments is simple. Heyday's space is open and chic, but still relaxing. The products used are selected from an array of high quality, natural products, which is a bonus for my temperamental skin. My aesthetician, Sue, was great - she took time to understand my skin and what I was looking to get out of my facial. I have sensitive skin, but still like to feel that my facial is 'productive' (and not leave feeling like I just spent an hour having someone wash my face). I was so pleased to get just what I had hoped - for my 50 min facial, Sue combined cleansing and extractions with a gorgeous-smelling mask, and I added in a peel as an extra. She found the right balance between explaining to me what she was doing and educating me about the products she was using, but also gave me time to relax quietly. Not your mom's facial. This is a place where your millennial friends go to give their skin a little TLC. I like that the barrier to entry is super low- simply make an appointment online and breeze in. Being my first facial, I got the 30 minute treatment, specifically because i've been having some strange breakouts on my forehead. Needless to say, i had a TON of questions for Tanya who carefully considered everything and gave me some great recommendations for healing. The 30 minutes is spent cleansing your face, checking your top skin layer and oil production underneath using two lamps, and then moisturizing as well as toning, using pleasantly hot towels on my face. Tanya also used a gentle astringent to treat my breakouts. Everything smells amazing and feels high-quality. I really like that there was no pressure to buy anything, and I got a sample of sunscreen she recommended. Would definitely be back, but I don't think 30 minutes is enough. Went for my first trip to Heyday and had the most relaxing and amazing 50-minute facial with Suzanne. She was incredibly kind, did a great job analyzing my skin and then explaining her approach to me. I was in need of some serious exfoliating and moisture, and woke up the next morning with noticeably better looking and feeling skin. You won't get the extra spa frills here, but this facial was much better than many of those I've had at more luxe locations. It's still a beautiful, modern and clean space. I actually have not gotten a facial here - tried twice. So, I found the reviews and was psyched about it, and I have been to a bunch of spas. The online booking was easy, and I got confirmation for my Saturday morning appointment (for 2 people for 30 mins each) - this was a gift for an ailing friend. The appointments were for 10:15 - at 9:30 that morning the receptionist called me to tell me one of the estheticians had called out. Short notice, but understandable. She re-booked us both for the next day at 1:15. We go in at 1:15 only to be told one appointment was 1pm and the other was 1:15, and that they were booked fully for the rest of the day, so either my friend or I could have a 15 minute facial. Seriously? I explained what had happened and my poor friend had to sit there the whole time. The guy at the front desk offered no solution and was not apologetic at all. It was horrible customer service. I opted not to re-book (again...) as my friend did not have a flexible schedule due to her condition. I guess I should be grateful they didn't charge me for "cancellation." We walked out, and they never said anything or offered a conciliatory word, tried to help us re-book, nothing! They seemed to not care at all about the loss of business whatsoever. From reading all these reviews, I am tempted to try again, but I don't really know if it's worth it. read more

A long overdue review! I've seen Laura P. for three facials in the last year (I know Heyday wants me to do monthly facials, but I aim for quarterly). After my first visit, I knew my days of shelling out hundos for facials at Bliss and the like were over - Heyday facials live up to the hype! And Laura P. has the perfect bedside manner. She's warm and knowledgeable, and takes cues on when you want to chit-chat, or when you want to relax in silence. I always leave feeling refreshed and pampered. I normally go to the Tribeca location, but my usual amazing esthetician came down sick. A friend recommended trying Jennifer T who she visited recently @ the Nomad location so I thought I'd give her a try. The location is very chill, with a super friendly staff, just like the Tribeca one. Jennifer T gave me an awesome facial! She was very professional, friendly, and knew her stuff. She walked me through the process, answered any questions, and was gentle with my skin - even with the extractions (I have sensitive skin). Best of all, her face and shoulder massage was absolutely incredible. I loved that she wasn't pushy with her recommendations, but gave me some really helpful advice on what to use along with some samples to try. I was worried about seeing someone else other than my regular esthetician in Tribeca, but if I'm ever in the Nomad location, I will definitely only see Jennifer T there again. At my friends recommendation, I started accompanying her to Heyday and now cannot stop recommending this place. Everybody who works there is so nice, the facility is always very clean, and the environment very relaxing. My specialist, Maya N, is the absolute best and I always book my appointments with her months in advance to make sure I can secure one with her. She's helped my skin come such a long way and has taken so much of the stress I feel about my skincare out of my life. I am one of those people who gets a facial a few times a year for clean up. However, recently, I have been visiting Heyday often because I started to break out with big ones. I had a 50 min facial + customized peel with Gina yesterday and I feel amazing. My skin was glowing after and felt so clean. She recommended two products but was not pushy at all. I purchased one of the exfoliate powders she recommended. Gina was very attentive to my skin concerns. She is friendly and well knowledgable with anything related to skincare. I felt like I was at a salon with my best friend. She is wonderful and I definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great professional from Heyday! I absolutely love Heyday and their staff. I've received two facials with Tanya at Heyday Nomad -- one was an initial 30 minute facial, and the second was a 50 minute facial with extractions. During the first facial, Tanya asked in depth questions about my current skincare routine and accurately evaluated my skin. She fully explained the whole process of everything she was doing during the facial and recommended products in a thoughtful (not at all pushy!) way. I only ended up buying one of the products (a toner) and it was very reasonably priced and works great. Tanya gave me full sized samples of all other products. My skin was so tired before the facial and I left feeling great. I booked a second, longer facial about a month later because the 30 minute facials do not include extractions and my otherwise pretty clear skin has hella nose blackheads. The 50 minute facial felt a LOT longer and Tanya used many many products and devices -- I have no idea what magic she did, but my skin felt amazing afterward and has continued to look brighter and clearer every day since then. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give Heyday a try. I'd been really frustrated recently with my skin, including breakouts and was looking for a place that was affordable. I booked my first 50 minute facial with Gina and could not be happier with my results! What I loved was that it was a simple, yet relaxing and an informative experience. Gina spoke to me about my frustrations and after a skin analysis, created a "road map" for me in order to keep improving my skin upon my next visits. After checking out my results, she recommended products but did not push at all to buy. My favorite thing about the whole experience was the follow up email with a recap of what we focused on, as well as a guide on what to work on by myself before I head back for my next visit.
