Today was my second microneedling session at Shannon Lee esthetics with Madison. My first time was with Shannon herself. Things went great both times! I wanted to wait until the second session to leave a fair review. Madison is very easy going and takes her time to get to know you, your skincare regimen, and basically what is going on in your life. She is super down to earth and has knowledge and tips to offer from her other job at a plastic surgeon office as well. Now I know how to sleep on my back and stay on my back so I don't age more quickly on the side I sleep on all the time. She recommended a few products that the studio carried but, does not try to sell you anything. This is so important because at this day and age there are a ton of good products out there and I think everyone wants to take their time and do some research before committing to products that their esthetician sells. I found out about Shannon Lee via Groupon and I'm really happy I did. Admittedly I'm not a big skin care girl, but I knew the time had come to invest in a good quality facial. Her office is conveniently located on Broadway so I was able to visit right after work. She has her own room on a larger floor and an immaculate set up. I booked with Shannon for a microneedling package (3.) Shannon is really easy to talk to and her passion for esthetics is obvious. Chatting to her, I could tell that she likes to keep up to date with what's new in the beauty industry. I was appreciative of her being willing to try niche applications for my skin concerns. I got microblading ages ago, it turns out that this scars the skin more than was previously thought. This was making my skin hold onto old pigment that I was trying to fade out. Shannon suggested to microneedle over my eyebrows and the old eyebrow tattoo. After it was healed I noticed a marked difference to the texture of the skin when applying lotion etc. I used to feel raised scar tissue where the old tattoo was, but now it's completely gone. It also helped lighten the color as well, after just two treatments. I'm booking in to get a different kind of eyebrow tattoo in a few months, hopefully that will cover the last of it. I had an amazing experience fixing all my skin problems with Shannon. I recently contracted Chickenpox and was afraid that the spots it left on my face would never go away. I left a 5 star review on Groupon immediately following the classic facial from Shannon that I received. I'm leaving another review because it's been 2 or so weeks and the results are so visible. First Shannon was really sweet. I was probably annoying for a variety of reasons including that I couldn't breathe because of lying down and kept fidgeting. Second I hadn't gotten a facial in over a year due to covid and I don't have great skin to begin with. Shannon did a years worth of skincare in that session. My skin is naturally red, and I have large pores and am somehow oily and dry at the same time. I've gotten facials before but this time the redness has subsided so much and the extractions she did cleared my face so much that my boyfriend thinks I'm wearing makeup when I'm not. I went for a consultation, but decided it was best to go to a dermatologist for microneedling to treat a scar. The lounge was chaotic. Shannon was shuffling in an out of the curtains during our appt. to treat two other clients scheduled for the same time slot. She judgementally admonished against wearing wigs even though I've never worn a wig in my life. I guess she just assumed all black women wear wigs. It just made her look ignorant. If you're a first timer to facials like myself, Shannon will not only set the bar high but her personal one on one attention and calm nature will leave you feeling relaxed. Her customer service is superb from sending me a friendly reminder text earlier in the day about my facial to offering me sparkling water when I arrived. The private room had dim lighting and zen music, which relieved my nerves. I then got comfortable under a super soft blanket. Shannon made sure to explain each procedure and the products that she used, step by step and highlighted the application of each product and how it would benefit my skin. She first turned on the steamer and was extremely gentle with my skin since I told her about a serum that I used last week that made my skin flare up. She recommended exfoliation, diamond microdermabrasion and an LED lamp treatment to rehydrate my face due to its sensitivity from retinol serums the week prior. Shannon complimented me on my decollete area and answered all the questions that I had about vitamin C, skin pigmentation, and hyaluronic acid. She was so thorough with extractions and the treatments on my face were nonabrasive. She even offered to take a picture of me, if I wanted, while I was laying under the blue and red LED lamp. I felt so relaxed that I caught myself dozing off. After the diamond microdermabrasion and the treatments, I could immediately feel that my skin was BEYOND hydrated and had what it needed. No redness, no irritation, no blotchiness; Shannon worked her wonders on my face. She wasn't a pushy salesperson and there weren't any gimmicks involved. I've been going to Shannon for the past three years. A couple of lessons learned: I would much rather go to see her a few times a year than to spend money on creams and serums at home.
