The first time I was waxed by Lena and she was as sweet and efficient as the other reviews have said. However I am taking off stars because of the terrible service I received from her assistant the second time. I bought the $40 for $60 voucher advertised on Yelp. I used it on my first wax ($10) and Lena personally told me I could come back several times to use the remaining value. When I came back a second time, the assistant told me I could not use the remaining value - THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR - because "the voucher had already been redeemed and that is Yelp's policy." No other explanation. First of all, this is NOT Yelp's policy (which I confirmed through their support). The voucher is $40 for $60 - $40 being the paid component and $20 being the promotional component. I first used it on a $10 service - meaning even if none of the promotion was applied and the unused promotional component was no longer retained, I should still have my $30 paid component left to use. The fact that she tried to tell me I am not allowed to come back multiple times to use what I already paid for means she essentially tried to make me pay $40 for a $10 service. She eventually honored the voucher for the second wax (and acted like she was doing me a favor) but told me I have to use all of it the next time I come. This does not make sense because I only need a $10 service each month. The waxing itself was great. The rudeness I had to deal with because I wanted to get what I actually paid for was uncalled for and I would rather go somewhere else. read more

Lena for one is always keeping up with the new techniques by attending conferences in beauty field! I also have to mention that this studio has always been clean. I just moved to the city so I was looking for a good dependable place to go on a regular basis for Brazilian waxes. My waxing girl I had back home in California was amazing - I went to her for two years and we had a really great friendship by the time I moved. My experience at Lena's was jarring. I saw the great Yelp reviews and saw they were offering a group on so I booked an appointment. I don't even know the lady's name who waxed me (judging from yelp photos it wasn't Lena), because she didn't speak to me at all. She just immediately started waxing. Sometimes my reflexes would make my legs close a little bit and she'd let out this irritated and audible sigh. I was really uncomfortable. She double dipped one of the sticks and all the equipment looked kind of old and dirty. She didn't ask if I wanted to book a future appointment or anything after it was over either. I gave two stars since the wax was quick and relatively painless, but the lack of customer service guarantees I won't be coming back. read more

From the minute I arrived until I left, the experience was top notch! My face has been looking dull and my pores are clogged after weeks of traveling. I decided to do the deep cleansing facial. I found Lena by doing a search online for "Guinot" spas. That is the product that I use and have a regular aesthetician at home in Los Angeles, however I'm traveling extensively for work and was a bit nervous about going to someone else. My fears were completely unfounded. In fact, I'd say this was perhaps the best facial I've ever had! (I had the Hydradermie). I also had a back facial and a brow wax. I usually don't let anyone but my regular person touch my brows, and not only did Lena do an exemplary job, the wax she uses is for extra sensitive skin and it was truly painless.
