I'd be very cautious about getting facials here if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin. I had a lot of extractions done during my facial, and my skin broke out horribly in the weeks afterward. It felt like far too much was done at once, especially for skin that was already acne-prone and sensitive. I was also sold a moisturizer for around $60 that ended up making my skin red and irritated. I'm sure others may have a different experience, especially if they don't struggle with acne or sensitivity, but I really wish I had listened to some of the other reviews before going. I was already considering Accutane beforehand, and my skin became so much worse after this facial that I'm now on it. Please be cautious if you have reactive or acne-prone skin. read more

Towards the end of last year, I decided it is time to take a better care of my skin (getting old is not easy). I did lots of research on which facial spa to go to, and went to a few of them to test them out. The winner of all was Jasmine. With high reviews at her previous location, I started to going to her around the beginning of this year. She was so awesome from the first visit, I recommended my husband to also start his facial with her. Ever since, we have been a big fan of Jasmine. When she moved, we didn't even think twice about following her to this new location, even thought it is a bit harder for us to get to the new location. But, let me say she is worth it! She really listens to all your concerns, changes in skin or daily life routine, and she pays great attention to the condition of the skin. She has given me recommendation on products when I ask for it, without ever trying to sell me anything. She is very nice, polite, friendly and makes you feel at ease. It might be difficult for some people to trust your skin with a stranger, but her warm approach and sincere care for your skin's health will make you feel comfortable. Since she is Asian as I am, she knows the Asian skin, and I never felt any discomfort during or after the facial. She does a great job with both Asian and non-Asian skin (my husband), for sure. At other spas that I visited, I felt my face was a bit greasy with so many products put on my face, but with Jasmine, my face is never greasy, but moist, soft, and most of all, healthy! I originally had lots of blackheads which I could not stand... But with her, it is under the control, and my skin looks better and better with each visit. And I can say the same for my husband. Jasmine is a miracle worker. I have suffered from mild-moderate adult cystic acne despite following my skincare routines religiously, drinking plenty of water, and following a whole foods, plant-based diet (thanks hormones). While my skin has improved, a year of wearing face coverings (full time as I'm a teacher) has left my skin scarred from previous cystic acne flares with the surface of my skin feeling fairly bumpy and textured. To be completely honest, I'm not even sure what facial I got, I just told Jasmine to go for whatever she thought was best, and I'd suggest you do the same. She is truly an expert. While deep extractions are uncomfortable, the redness subsided within a few hours, and her microdermabrasion left my face so smooth it's truly unbelievable. I almost fell asleep when she massaged my face, and the mint clay mask she used towards the end really was a wonderful way to end the service. I'm wildly prone to breakouts, and have gotten facials at "more luxurious" places that left me with awful breakouts 3-5 days after the service (folks say that it means your skin is purging, but my skin never seemed to stop purging between regular services...) HOWEVER, Jasmine's service left my skin the healthiest it's ever been with immediate results-- 5 days later and not one breakout in sight, my skin is still incredibly soft and very much glowing and hydrated. I'll be returning in a few weeks for a chemical peel, and will be alternating between peels and facials regularly, as suggested by Jasmine to help keep my skin super clear and help with any scarring. Wow! What a lovely experience my appointment here was. Jasmine asked incredibly thoughtful questions about my routine, including not only skincare but also diet and makeup habits, and made thoughtful recommendations based on what I said. The facial itself was so relaxing I was almost falling asleep, and even the microdermabrasion and extractions were unbelievably gentle. My skin was very congested and is so fair/sensitive that it usually gets very red very easily when touched. I left with skin that was not only sooo much smoother but was also just barely red even after the extractions. She wasn't out to sell me a specific product or on a more expensive treatment. It was my first facial with Jasmine and it's been a long time since I had a proper facial with deep extraction. I normally do procedures like micro-needling and hydra facial (with a different esthetician) and I realized that this alone is not enough especially if you don't exfoliate weekly. First of all Jasmine is such a lovely lady. She honestly cares about your skin and asked you a lot of questions such as lifestyle, skin care regime etc. without trying to sell PCA products. Then come the extraction - as I am not used to this type of facial anymore (my last acne treatment was almost 15 years ago) so it was so painful to me. BUT it was not foreign to me as I used to have this facial before when I had acne in my early 20s. I knew Jasmin was trying to remove all the gunk underneath my skin so she has to put some pressure to get the bad things out. This is the only worst feeling of the facial but as soon as she was done and put a mask on, you are back in heaven again. At the end of my facial, my skin felt lighter and the bumps on my forehead immediately became flat! I have a thick skin so despite all the extractions, my face was not red at all. It's been 3 days since I had my facial and I can see that my pores are clean, my forehead is still flat without the bumps and more importantly there are no marks from the extraction. I highly recommend Jasmine. The reason why it's not a 5 star is only because the place it not a luxurious spa. But neither did she portray it to be. The price is reasonable for what she does but anything more would make you seek for a more luxurious environment. Honestly, I am not here to be pampered but I went to Jasmine so she can fix my congested skin issue. I am going for another facial with her in 3 weeks time and I can't wait. read more

Great little place! For a while, I had been looking for a good facialist. I tried different places, mostly in the Upper East Side since thats where the higher rated ones are. They were all ok but had some flaws. I tried Skincare by Jasmine in March and have been coming ever since. She's a super nice facialist that clearly cares about her clients. She asks about your skin and skincare and then works her magic. Her products are of high quality but she's not at all pushy with them. I use K-beauty products that are relatively cheap and she said that's fine. I come once a month and I love it. My skin is oily and I get clogged pores easily. I booked a customized facial and described my skin type, concerns (acne and congested skin). Jasmine did a quick microdermabrasion for the exfoliating step and my skin loves it. She did a very thorough job on the extractions. I always have a lot of extractions and unfortunately, it did hurt. I wish it could hurt less but I understand it's needed to get it done. Then Jasmine did a high-frequency treatment for a few minutes. That was a nice touch. Afterwards, my skin is clear of congestions though quite red from all the extractions. I've been going to Jasmine for over half a year now. I was breaking out really bad on the forehead and Jasmine helped me through the worst, calming my skin down externally through the facials but also recommending lifestyle changes etc. to minimize future break outs. Two months in I started seeing changes, and my skin is so much better now. It is all cleared up except for an occasional pimple at that time of the month. Every time I go back she carefully inspects my skin, notes differences, asks me about my skincare routine updates since the last time I've seen her. In addition of her treatment being effective, I just really love seeing that she cares. She also has flexible hours. It is hard for me to find time to go for a facial during the week, but I can always schedule a weekend time slot with her. And as other reviewers notes, she never pushes products on you. If anything, she mentions things that she thinks would help your skin (i.e. vit C serum), but she doesn't specify brands or push her own products. I recently saw Jasmine for the Advanced Customized Facial for my acne prone skin and congested pores. Before starting the facial, she asked me my skin type and what skincare products I use during her assessment. She was incredibly thorough with the extractions and made sure I wasn't uncomfortable with the pain. The microdermabrasion and the LED light really felt my skin was getting a deep clean and killing all the bacteria under my skin. Overall, the entire experience was extremely relaxing!
