    The theater

Unfortunately this place is still a joke after all these years! Not enough shops, quality shops and they still want you to pay for parking. They are stingy to give extra time or discount for the theater validation. 20 CENTS off for parking with the theater's validation. LOL! That's an insult. They are renovating and it's very inconvenient. Park at the structure but yet have to walk out to the street to enter the shopping center and theater through the streets. Word of advice to the management; you should not make customers that are willing to come Shop and eat here pay a parking fee in this ridiculous inconvenient mess!! Yet, you do and expect customers to come back? If it's not for the free movie pre screenings at the theater, I will never step a foot in your center, especially now with Nordstrom Rack gone and moved to Westfield Culver City mall down the street. They have free parking at the very least.

Go here often for mani pedi and shopping. There are tons of stores, and lots of fast food and restaurants (some good, some not). It's never very crowded, except on Saturday night, and during the summer there are free music concerts on the plaza. (They cover over the fountain and make it a bandstand.) Lots of business people here for lunch from the surrounding office buildings. Parking underneath is a little weird -- sort of a long, narrow space. If you end up parking way at one end, you have quite a walk to the central area. There is also a very convenient valet underground.

YELP INSIDER TIP FROM DOREEN (AKA AZN PERSUASION): The best thing about this place is $2 parking at night, Nordstrom Rack, and the movies. Soon will be the Dave and Busters in 2014. ***** I come to this theater about 2 times a year. It's a very small complex and not much is here. Now, if one is under 18, they have to be with an 18 yr old b/c of the curfew rules. Plenty of parking, Ben and Jerry's is open til midnight and the Mexican and Japanese is open til 11pm. There is also a Color Me Mine.

I like that it's open and easy to access. Parking can just take a little bit to find. It's being remodeled but it's taking forever! Need to see when it's finished to really review fairly.

*** pretty nice courtyard to meet and greet friends ... *** there is a Starbuck's, Rubio's and a Chocolate shop surrounding a fountain w/ comfy lounge chairs too. but they've gotta get more interesting businesses. *** on a nice day, i can sit and chill here for hrs. ***

Platform is a fun outdoor/indoor shopping center located in Culver City. I honestly hadn't heard…read moremuch about this shopping center until one of my favorite stores broadcasted that they would be having a pop up located here. Platform was fairly simple to navigate in many ways. Coming from Ventura county it was a little bit of a drive which was to be expected but luckily this center isn't far off the 405 freeway which did make this very easy to get to. Also the parking garage is clear and colorful (easy to find). Seemed safe enough and I felt comfortable leaving my car behind, haha, harder to say in some parts of LA these days. The parking garage was reasonable on pricing and it had an attendant so easy peasy. I appreciated that they had multiple maps and signage so you can find where you're heading with ease. This shopping mall is slightly more upscale, I said it. Not $$$$ price point but the restaurants and some shops are a little boujee for the average person. It's no rodeo drive but I could see this maybe not being the most accessible price point for the average person. We knew the content of the shops though so we were fine but did we blow a few hundred dollars, definitely. They had a nice ratio of clothing shops, to home goods, and restaurants/drink stalls. However, in grand total the amount of stores is slightly underwhelming. We walked this shopping center pretty quickly and were eager to see more cute shops. Felt a little empty in some ways but if you come here in mind of a few stores you know you want to see then your fine, this spot just wouldn't be on my regular shopping rotation as there isn't enough for me to see to justify the drive. Our favorite stores though were definitely Catbird (jewelry) and the Mojave Flea Trading Post (heard this was only a pop up store through 2023). I'm hoping they'll maintain the good stores and continue to get creative in bringing more to this center as it has potential and overall was a nice and chill environment for a girls shopping day.

When I entered at 8:30 pm there was an attendant at the gate. When I left at 8:50pm there was no attendant and putting my validated ticket into the machine at the gate made me pay $2. Pressed on the call button resulted in no response. The next week on a Friday, I pull in around 8:25pm and there's an attendant there so I told her about my experience before (validated ticket with no attendant) and she was not very helpful but said that there needs to be an attendant for a validated ticket to work. So, I asked how long she'll be there until, which she said 10pm. I left 15-20 minutes after entering the structure. As I was pulling up the gate, I SEE HER WALKING AWAY FROM THE GATE. I waive at her with my ticket and she looks at me and shakes her head (sorry I can't help you) as she continues to walk away. WTF! This parking structure is absolutely ridiculous. The "complimentary 15 minutes" is also a joke because no one can get in and out in under 15 minutes. Don't go to the Platform if you have to use the structure to park.

I used to love shopping at Nordstrom Rack in the Fox Hills Mall (Westfield Culver City). I've been…read morea loyal customer for years and every visit I'd easily spend $400+ without any issues. Unfortunately, an experience about two years ago completely changed how I feel about this store. During my last visit, I was racially profiled and followed throughout the store by two asset protection employees (one male and one female). I have no idea why I was singled out. Despite being treated that way, I still purchased around $600 worth of items that day. What made it even more upsetting was seeing one of them waiting near the front door as I was leaving, as if they expected me to do something wrong. I even waved and laughed in disbelief because it was so obvious. He stood at the door after following me, once the second person started following me, then left that post after I walked out with my purchased items. What's even more frustrating is that I saw someone else (same ethnicity as the security that were following me) in the store actually stealing items, but because they were so focused on watching me, they completely ignored her. I saw her walk right out the door after stuffing her pockets and purse with stolen items. Unbelievable! That experience was disappointing. I left the store wishing I hadn't spent a dime there. Since then, I've never returned to that location. I even tried shopping at the Nordstrom Rack on Fig at 7th downtown recently, and unfortunately experienced the same thing, being followed around the store. Because of these experiences, I've decided I will no longer shop at Nordstrom Rack or Nordstrom. No customer who is spending their hard-earned money should feel targeted or profiled while simply trying to shop. Prior to the incident where I was followed around the store, I had another frustrating experience at this location. On a previous visit, I purchased clothes and other items. When I walked out, the alarm at the door went off, but another customer was exiting at the same time so I assumed it was related to her purchase. I had two bags of clothes and other items, and didn't notice anything unusual when I quickly checked my bags. About a month later, when I went to wear one of the dresses, I discovered the security sensor was still attached. It was black and blended in with the dress, which is probably why I didn't notice it earlier. I then checked the other clothes and two more dresses that I hadn't worn yet and found that they also still had sensors attached, hidden on the slip of the dress. I returned to the store to have them removed, but initially the staff refused because I didn't have the receipt. Fortunately, I had used my Nordstrom credit card and they were able to look up the purchase and finally remove the sensors. This situation could have been avoided if the employee had properly checked the dresses (since they hide their sensors) before bagging them. These are higher-priced items that typically have sensors attached, so you would think staff would be trained to know where the sensors are placed. But I don't totally blame the staff because they were hidden. Why not make them visible? Why place a black sensor on a black dress? Customers shouldn't have to inspect their purchases for security tags after leaving the store. Goodbye, Nordstroms! It was fun while it lasted.
