3/2016- My inlaws live in Westbury. On multiple occasions, I have inevitably realized that I forget some essential hair product rendering me woefully unable to appear in the manner in which i am accustomed. This is where Hi beauty has come to my rescue. On multiple occasions, I have found WHATEVER I was looking for in this little crammed-to-the-gills beauty supply store... Headbands, shampoo, condition, my favorite natural hair product line Kinky Kurly, as well as a myriad of other natural hair lines, tons of weave of all different types, wigs, eyeliner, nail polish, lipstick, inexpensive jewelry, perfume/colognes, lotions, traditional black hair care products for relaxed and braided hair...EVERYTHING! So in addition to just having everything, they are amazingly courteous and warm to their customers. The owners /clerks excitedly welcome you into the store but don't harass you, follow you around or imply you aren't an asset to their business In fact, they make small talk with you and even squirt lotion into my hands after our business transaction is concluded every time I've been in there as if I just got a manicure or something I have been in beauty supply stores all over this country...some things are consistent. They are usually crammed full and run by asians. What is unusual is high end natural hair products, good customer service and being being treated like a valued customer vs a nuisance. SO, to enter and find what is seemingly quite typical but in actuality is a gem, well, I love the place and wish it was down in Bmore instead of Westbury. read more

Jessica gets five stars The owner/register guy gets 2. He tried and failed. Got two wigs here for a deal of buy 2 get 10% off. My sister and I was assisted by Jessica who was great and very helpful. The experience was great from the beginning and middle but towards the end I was not feeling this place. The garrulous Asian guy at the register initially was very friendly and funny. Our experience turned sour when the guy at the register tried the old switch and bait on us. Be very careful! Not just with the quiet people but people who try to talk so much and be extra friendly, so that you're distracted by their magic tricks. Anyways, I like to scan my receipts to see what I saved but oddly when I got in the car with my sister I couldn't find the receipt. So I had my sister go in. The man told her he was unable to print the receipt and wrote on a piece of paper the price. I decided to go inside myself and requested that he give me my receipt. Magically he was able to print my receipt. When I scanned it I noticed this joker charged us $10 more on both of the wigs we got. Then yelled out to Jessica that the price should be more because of the type of wig it is. She told him it's the price that's on the mannequin and it's what she told him it was. I distinctly remember him asking her for the price and she telling him which is weird...because if he scanned it the price should of came up. I'm sure he decided that it needed to be more and changed it without telling us then tried to not give us our receipt. Then talk us to death and make us try free lotion, so we will forget. Don't be fooled people. I most likely will not visit here again. I can't stand deceitful people. Sad because he claims to be a Christian. Scratch a lie find a thief. For a small store they really carry a lot and have a good variety of products. The products they offer range from tools and supplies for professionals as well as DIY kits for the average home user. The employees are very friendly as well. They will help you find and select whatever you need and if they don't have exactly what you want they can recommend alternatives. The prices are competitive and there's free parking right out front. It's really no wonder they've been thriving so well locally as a small business. read more

I'm disappointed in their customer service. I was making a purchase and the item was priced at $12.99 and I was charged a higher price. I advised the owner that he was charging me more than the price on the package and he said that wasn't his problem. I refused to pay until he changed the price. I made it his problem without any hesitation. I will think twice before I purchase from this business again... Don't be fooled by the Christian music they play... They have accessories for kids and all types of wigs, human hair and ponytails. The owners are friendly and know their products well. I've passed this store dozens of times and always said one day I'm going to stop by and never did. I needed relaxer which I usually purchase from a supply store in Hicksville but they were out of what I wanted and it wouldn't be in stock until next week. Well, I can't wait that long so I finally decided to visit Hi Beauty and soooo glad I did! They had my relaxer and while in store I loved listening to Christian music. This beauty supply store is your typical Asian owned beauty supply store that carries African American products. The owner was polite, helpful and sincere. They were also playing Christian music over the loud speaker. The owner noted that the world was getting worse and he was trying to create an environment here people could shop in peace. I have had the best experience at this store. When I walk in I'm greeted by my first name every time..The owner David & his wife are very accommodating, pleasant,polite & they are not pushy!! They always have what I need and the few times that they haven't, it has been ordered for me.
