I was craving for Japanese curry cutlet and found this on Google. No regrets! I love their homemade curry sauce. I will definitely comeback and try other cutlets option.

I got the the curry tonkatsu, it's a classic tonkatsu meal that comes with rice, miso soup, curry on the side, some slaw and two giant pork katsus. I thought the portion sizes were very decent for the price and what you get. I was really surprised by how thin and crispy the tonkatsu was while still being tender and juicy inside. I like that they had the curry on the side so that the katsu doesn't get soggy, and acts more like a dipping sauce. The other dipping sauce for both the katsu and the salad was also delicious and tasted like an extra tangy thousand island sauce.

This time we ordered pick up, line was still out the door! Taste of food, definitely 5/5! Unfortunately I'm not sure why I expected udon to be good for take out. By the time I got home the noodles and tempura were mush. Probably best just to get it when you're dining in. I'd also recommend skipping the unagi roll because was pretty anemic... Katsu kept well as it was super crunchy! I ordered regular curry for my kids, but was given spicy curry. They don't usually eat spice but it was so good they ate it! ...But had to chase it with milk.

There is a bit of a wait but that is NO problem for a restaurant so small with such quality. Upon walking in, the wood frames and large poster signage boasting of their handmade noodles will entice you, but it's really the smell of their dashi broth in the air that gets you. Of course we got the karaage; I was JUST thinking about the best karaage I had in Japan as I ordered it, wondering if it would compare. It did. Piping hot with juices that exploded in your mouth and burned your tongue. It was perfect. I personally loved it just with a squeeze of lemon on top and the seasoning was also... just amazing. Everything about their shabu shabu soba blew my mind. I personally was craving soba so they substituted it for a dollar. Definitely worth it because WOW their soba was tender, slightly sweet, and seriously was on par to the same exact dish I had in Japan, a niku soba. I also tried their udon noodles. It was so bouncy and chewy and not at all overcooked. I kind of liked the very firm and chewy bite to them, slightly slightly undercooked because as you eat it, the noodles will become softer. That is my preference and they did it here. Their dashi broth was slightly sweet and very umami, yet light at the same time. I couldn't get enough. They also do not charge for hot barley tea here! I wanted to eat more, but my stomach was quickly expanding and I had to take the rest home and it healed me just as much as it was fresh. I will be back very soon.

Just the economy or whatever.. But today my pork cutlet was so over fried. Maybe they're using the same cook times for smaller pieces? Maybe they reused a leftover? I should have read reviews prior to coming as another review mentioned the spoiled vegetables. Portions aren't great. Katsu is smaller than previous Coco visits and we all could have decreased the rice portion as we ran out of curry before finishing the rice. Their curry to "regular" rice ratio is off. They also didn't provide spoons for the curry rice. When we asked for spoons, the person in charge mentioned they were out. How does a curry place run out of silver spoons? Her answer was that people steal them and everyone else was using them. Offered us soup spoons. We can't eat curry with a fork so we took the soup spoons and asked them to provide the silver spoons when they do get them again. Halfway through the meal I noticed new tables were getting silver spoons again. No offer of silver spoons to the tables who didn't get them. Although the waiters refilled our water glasses very punctually, we won't be coming back here.

It was super busy at this time but watching the meat get grilled in front of you is entertaining. It took just 5 minutes for my order to finish. This is simplicity at its finest. It's bare bones but tastes really good. It doesn't need a lot of help. The veggies are dressed so it's a bit salty and spicy (in a good way). The meat pairs well with the wasabi and veggies. Overall this is a good spot to eat at if you value taste over sustenance. Additionally since you are in the food court there this can be a side dish or appetizer.

There is plenty of seating in the food court for a quick sit down meal. I opted for the 12-piece Gyutan set, which cost around $35. They offer a generous portion of rice, served with their gyutan soup. Their pickled veggies were a nice palette cleanser. Onto the beef tongue, it was delicious. I wish the pieces were thicker slices. Whether they give portions by weight or just pieces, it was disappointing when some pieces were drastically smaller than others. Flavors were pleasant with the beef tongue taste, but lacking a touch of salt. Overall, Gyutan was good! Would definitely come back to enjoy quality beef tongue. The meat was tender, and the meal was filling.
