The only time I saw attendants away from the front desk or food area was when they were in the bathroom on their phones. This was my third visit, and the quality has noticeably gone downhill each time. There seem to be very few enforced rules regarding cleanliness or safety. The facility itself does have a lot of fun play areas for kids, but it's also extremely overstimulating with constant screens, loud music, crowds, and overall chaos -- especially on weekends. The pizza and food were also underwhelming for the price. Very small portions and cafeteria-quality. Party rooms are not well ventilated and after having a party of 25+ people, room smelled very badly. Overall: 3/5. Could be a great place with better maintenance, supervision, and cleanliness.

Unfortunately, our area was hit by a winter storm, and a state of emergency was declared both that weekend and the following weekend. Travel conditions were unsafe, especially for children and families attending the party. I notified the business as soon as possible, but they refused to refund the deposit and only offered rescheduling, for an additional $250. At that point, my daughter's birthday had already passed, so there was no reason to reschedule a birthday party weeks later. I understand businesses have policies, but emergencies and state-declared weather events are beyond a customer's control. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this directly, but no resolution was offered. I'm sharing this so other families are aware before booking, especially during winter months when weather can impact plans. The owner commented below- families let's use common sense as to why the party was canceled just four hours prior, the snow began coming down heavily, and I couldn't in good conscience ask my family members to travel on dangerous roads. The owner also failed to mention I was emailing Meg, since 6am that morning. Their behavior shows more compassion for money than families.

It was even more baffling when I found out that Meg is also an owner, which is disappointing that her customer service skills are below subpar. There was a miscommunication with the decor set up, which wasn't the problem it was how she handled the situation. She was very rude and disrespectful so much so that the other ladies on the staff had to keep apologizing for her rudeness. I will also say I had to call and leave several voicemails and send an email before she called me back leading up to the party which I wasn't a fan of. The day of the party the other staff members were so helpful and accommodating with bringing my vision to life I really appreciated them. I probably won't be back because bad customer service has a lasting effect but it it a really nice facility and all the kids enjoyed themselves.

But the real draw, at least for my daughter and me, is the art room, which is basically a table full of art supplies where kids (and parents) can create whatever their imagination wants to create. My daughter loved getting messy with the tempera paints, and had a great time with glitter and googly eyes. And, best of all, I didn't have to clean anything up! (Well, within reason.) It feels sort of like playing at a friend's house except nobody is territorial about toys, which for a 2-year-old who's just learning about sharing makes play time much more fun. It seems like such a simple concept, but after 3 hours my daughter didn't want to leave. On this particular day there were 4 other families there, all of which had 1-2 kids between the ages of 2 and 5 (but it was during the day, so older kids were in school) but I could see it having appeal for kids up to 8 or so. She has not only learned new physical skills but also skills in independent play and following directions. The coaches are passionate and engaged in every class. Coach Lex in particular has gone above and beyond to make each class special with his positive energy and always greeting us with the warmest welcome. He has been at the very heart of our positive experience at MyGym and I truly appreciate everything he does to make our children smile during every class he teaches. Despite talking a lot about the curriculum, Oak Grove really just provides babysitting services. They will show you the binders of curriculum and that it's posted outside the classroom door. But curriculum is only as good as how well its implemented. There was little education or development during our time there. The staff at Oak Grove is babysitting, not educating. The large classrooms look fantastic, until you realize how many kids they have in a classroom. They will tell you that they meet state requirements for teacher/student ratios, but just because you CAN have so many kids in a classroom doesn't mean that you SHOULD. Classrooms are chaotic and teachers are overwhelmed. There were a number of other issues during our time with Oak Grove, but the overall issue is that you can get better for your money. Oak Grove may seem cheaper at first, but other daycares include extracurriculars in the tuition that Oak Grove charges extra for. By the time you include the cost of extracurriculars, Oak Grove is not cheaper. Also, Oak Grove had parents provide food and supplies for holiday parties, but at our new school all holiday parties, egg hunts, etc are funded by the school. So much more convenient for the parents! We regret the time we wasted at Oak Grove and are so much happier with our new school. ------------------------- Note about the response from the school: Again, they quotes ratios. Be sure to ask how many kids total are in the class and how many of the adults in the class are true teachers versus helpers/assistants. I know that at one point there were almost 30 kids in my child's class. That is simply too many toddlers in a room. That said, considering the number of families who unenrolled their kids this year, the ratios probably have improved... but not for the right reasons. Also said in the initial review, the leadership talks a lot about the curriculum... but the curriculum is only as good as how well it's implemented. Lastly, why on earth would the owner want to contact me months after we have left other than to attempt to improve my review? If they were truly concerned, they would have worked on improving the situation before we and other families chose to leave.

It's been said the owner has towed cars of customers who are actively using the facility. He's set up a towing trap with the hertz rental car location next door. Any rental cars or personal cars will be towed. More of a money grab and bad for business all around.
