So..... I tried a new nail salon today hoping this would be it. It is closer to my job and I decided to try it. I made an appointment and as soon as I walked in the lady seemed upset and bothered. I always get powder dip, This is what I like to use on my nails because it last longer and less maintenance. She was pulling my hand closer to her and I felt like she didn't want to be uncomfortable and even told me to move my chair a certain way. I asked her to clean underneath my nail and she said later ..... well at this point my facial expression said it all I decided I will no longer give tip to anyone that didn't work for it and that wasn't even kind to me. #tips #nailsalon stop expecting tips if don't put in the work. My go-to mani/pedi place where every job's a perfect 10 or 20. My bro's ex-ex-ex girlfriend introduced me to this spot 11 years ago and though I now live twice as far away, I super prefer it to any place closer to home. The owner and staff remain very friendly as they continue extremely careful work. In fact, their UV-gel manicures last at least 3 weeks on me. Their included massages are amazing and they have excellent ventilation. Two thumbs and big toes up! This nail salon's the best in the area- hands-down! Have been going here for Gel for a few years now. Michelle does a great job and my nails last between 4-5 weeks at times. Have never had to return because of a broken nail or problem with a job. I also feel she's quick and always on time. This could be because there is never any conversation. so if you're looking for polite chit chat, she's not the one for you. Lastly, I wish they had new colors. I see the same color wheel every time I go. Other than that, I would highly recommend Michelle and Hi-Q Nails. ive mostly had great experiences here. they always fit me in whenever I need an appointment and my nails have always looked great. A gel manicure is only 25 dollars... super affordable I did have an incident when the manicurist did not put the topcoat at the end and when I said something she pretended that she forgot. As soon as I said something she put the top coat on and the manicure looked great. it was a little frustrating though that she tried to get away with not finishing. read more

Terrible job. I got SNS and the lady then put gel as the top coat. Didn't clean any of the debris before putting the gel on top so under it all you saw was dust. Later that night the gel top coat started to lift and peal off. I went to have it fixed and the only person available was the same lady that did a terrible job the first time. She did a terrible job the second time as well and was rude when I asked her not to put the gel top coat again. Don't waste your money and go somewhere else because this place is absolutely terrible. Good Nail service. The thing I don't like it that there are always kids there, some are the owners and some of another technician. The kids are constantly demanding their attention. (One even sat in technicians chair when she stood to get hot hand towel and wouldn't leave chair for her to sit when technician returned). they thought that was funny. Getting my nails done is part of a routine and I don't need any extra fluff. I need to be in and out with nails that look good and will last. Gel nails are my favorite because they look well kept and intact longest. I'm a nurse and I need to wash my hands like a million times a day. Not every place I've gotten gel in can get it right. There have been times they chip even as soon as the next day because of the line of work I'm in. Also, some peeps can't get the smoothness to extend to the end of the cuticle. Coming here I had my doubts, but I was referred by a valid source #shoutouttoFlorenceC. So here I am 1 week later and my gel is intact! Worked four 12 hour shifts in a row without a chip or loss of shine. I didn't feel like I was pampered, but I don't need to be because getting my nails done is part of a check off list so don't come here if you need a lot of attention. It's not that kind of party. My pedicure was also done very well and it was not the same person who did it so I believe the standard of care is pretty consistent here. I will totally be coming back. I think I finally found my "go to" place. The place is a nice size and very clean. I made an appointment so there was no wait time at all. I was put in the pedicure chair immediately and while there, another employee came over and started the removal process for my gel nails. My pedicure was done very well and so was my manicure. I really like how they give you a massage at the end of each service. I also like how the place is managed. You can tell that the owner runs a tight ship. All of the employees are focused on the customers and no one is sitting there playing on their phones. I return in 2 weeks and I'm hoping to have another nice experience. read more

I was really excited to get dipping powder here as a friend comes here. SatI was there and the manicurist was extremely rude to me she kept yelling at me to relax bc my fingers get tense without me knowing. When removing my powder and I said that hurt she went harder. When she was showing my the color options she wouldn't let me hold it and would kinky show me the first set I asked for a lighter color she gave me attitude. I picked a light sheet pink but it was very pink but not 100% sheer. She was giving me nasty looks the whole time and when she was done I was honestly afraid to speak up. This is what my nails looked like when I left! It doesn't even look like I have powder. I'm disgusted that she didn't offer a third coat or say are you sure this is okay? This salon closes at 7:30pm. I went in after work around 6pm looking to simply remove my gel manicure. I was greeted in a rude manner by the owner who quickly dismissed me after stating that there wasn't enough time for a fill in. I responded that I only wanted to have my polish removed. He again repeated that there wasn't enough time. I confirmed that they close at 7:30pm and then asked how an hour and a half wasn't enough time when the salon was empty. The owner ignored my question and began talking on the phone. Very rude! At the time, the salon only had TWO customers. I will never step foot back in this salon. read more

I called to make an appointment for a manicure/ pedicure around 5 pm(store closed at 7:30) the owner picked up and said "there is no one available until 6:30" okay that's fine. I walk in at 6:25 and he greater me at the door "Pick a color" so I said are these the same as gel? He says I asked you if you wanted a manicure pedicure I said yes I do Gel manicure and pedicure. Not a big deal right?!?! His whole tone changed and got very nasty said NO I asked you and you said regular manicure and pedicure. Not very happy with they're service. I miss the other owner. No walk ins, you need an appt. The Hispanic lady did my nails, however she's not licensed to do so, I didn't say anything but got really annoyed when it didn't last; gel manicure. Even the polish they gave must be old since it was chipping off my toes and pedicures --a good one lasts at least a month. Not impressed. Judy did my gel manicure and Vicky did my pedicure!!! Both did a phenomenal job!! The gel manicure was done to perfection and she was careful not the destroy the bed of my nails buffing off the residue from my last gel manicure. My pedicure was also done to perfection. I've passed this salon quite a few times in the last 5 years and finally went in for a last min. Mani and eyebrows. I have to say this is one of the better nail places in the "five points" area (I've been to them all!) First of all, it was quiet, non crowded and Ellen was on! The woman who did my eyebrows did an okay job (I'm usually really picky with where I get them waxed but I really needed them cleaned out). She took her time on the manicure and it came out close to flawless. What I appreciate most are the little add-ons, such as the hand scrub and hand/arm massage during the mani And the neck and shoulder rub when I sat down at the dryer. To be upset with the way my mother and I were treated is an understatement. I come here all the time for pedicures because I love the extra touches they do. I called on Tuesday to make an appointment for 2 pedicures and 1 manicure for Thursday at 3:30. Lady confirmed day and time multiple times before hanging up. Fast forward to today (Thursday) I walk in with my mother (who's birthday it is by the way) and they did not have my appointment in their book and said it may have been booked incorrectly. Instead of accommodating us especially for my mother since it was her birthday he just stood there and looked at me like I was wrong for being there. I had no words! The Owner of this nail salon does not know the definition of customer service, he is all about his own pocket and nothing else. I was going to this nail salon for years, only because I like the girl that did my nails and the other girls seem to be nice as well. He doesn't allow for you to include the tips with your debit/credit card payment, so I had to stop at the ATM to be able to tip my manicurist. Because of this one day I got to my appointment 15 minutes late, and he put someone else in my appointment chair, no phone call from him, he just cancelled my appointment. Meanwhile a year before I had an appointment , got to the salon and it was closed. He had people doing cosmetic repairs, he never called me to reschedule the appointment that day, I found out when I got to the front door. I work hard for my money, and as I told him there are plenty of nail salons in Union. When I left there I went to another nail salon and scheduled an appointment for the next morning somewhere else. He need to practice what he preaches and learn that in the USA we pay for customer service. read more

She took her time and her attention to detail was unparalleled by most places I've been too that just seem to rush you out. Not the case here. If I can't make it those days I don't mind paying $5 more because they really take care of you here. They take their time and give great little shoulder massages while you dry.
