Wow I was blown away!!! I randomly decided to get a pedicure on my way home and chose the closest salon with the highest rating. On google it said Lovely Nails but it's now new ownership and called Palm Tree Nails. It's in a house off the parkway I walk in and OMG it was the comfiest vibe salon I ever saw. I was at home, there was also classical music in the background it was relaxing. UPDATE! So I went to this place and got a new set of uv gel put on (prior to that it was just gel nail polish) and i have never had this happen before. My nails are coming off. Its been about roughly three weeks and all my nails are lifting. I really cant believe this. I paid $105 for new set and for what...? For them to all fall off?! The ladies here are absolutely wonderful. The friendliest staff Ive ever had do my nails. I came in at 5:20ish and was seated immediately. The woman doing my nails was a doll. Because of time pressure (they close at 7) i was having my feet done with my nails and the woman gave me pillows to rest my arms while she worked. The woman who did my feet was also super sweet and took the time to get to know my sister and I. Its very expensive so I may not go back (reason its 4 stars). $25 for my feet and $80 for my UV gel set. My sister paid the same and she got no design and an acrylic read more

This was the worst service experience--in any industry--I've ever had in my life. I'm the kind of person who has an extremely hard time speaking up when I don't like something, but almost every finger was bleeding/cut/close to bleeding and I'm super pregnant and I just couldn't take it. This was a long, horrible experience so I'll just put it in bullet points. * The pedicure was fine, really nothing of note there. * There was no cuticle care or anything, just removal of my gel polish and straight to adding acrylics (again, whatever, I just think it's nice when a manicure includes some type of nail/finger pampering or at the very least a quick hand wash in between). * Removal of the gel polish by file was pretty rough and left my fingers stinging. Again, I was pretty whatever about it. And the fun stuff... * I wanted short acrylics and when I asked the nail tech (maybe the owner) to make them shorter when she was doing her initial cut, she got frustrated and I think that made her become extremely, extremely rough with the nail file, and I think just flustered in general because each nail was a different shape and length. * She had to use a cotton pad to dab the blood and there was blood on the towel. * I was hurting and thinking "if I'm gonna go through this and pay a bunch, I want to like it" so I went against my general shyness and asked to adjust the shape... her response was to tell me short nails are ugly and become even more rough with the file. * I got to a point where I was just like okay, this isn't working, and I told her my fingers were hurt and bleeding, so I asked her if we could just remove the acrylic and I could go--she said no, it would take 20 minutes remove, and she kept filing. * After she refused to remove the acrylic, she made me pay the full price of the pedicure and manicure ($90) before she would add the polish. It was a pretty awkward and insulting thing for her to do and felt a bit like a shakedown, but whatever, I paid. * The shapes and lengths were still super uneven and I didn't want to add polish to them, so I asked her if I could file some (there were sharp points in random spots on random nails, like 90 degree edges, and that's all I filed down). She said "good job" to me after but then later told me I made them ugly. She also said that I think I know everything and that she's the professional. Honestly, whatever. * Each time I mentioned my skin hurting, she said it was my fault because I made her cut them shorter "like 5 times" -- she only cut the plastic part before the acrylic twice, and even then, what does that have to do with filing off my skin? * She filed them down to basically my natural nail length which was fine with me because I'd rather have that than mismatched shapes. * When she added polish, it was quick cause I'm sure she was as ready for me to leave as I was. But there were little bubbles in the polish on some fingers and others were crinkly like a wrinkled blanket -- I said something even though I wanted to leave *so bad*. But I'd paid $90 and had a horrible time so I wanted something to be worthwhile. * She was extremely vocal about her discontent with me and had someone else come paint my nails, named Rosa I believe. * Rosa was really nice and did a good job painting my nails. She even cleaned up my cuticles a bit. * Rosa also handed me tissues because at that point I was crying in a nail salon ... errrgghh Pics included just to show how even after getting home, the skin on my fingers is still pretty brutal and stings as I'm typing this memoir. I care a lot less about how my nails look and a lot more about how I was treated and also how my skin was treated, both of which were awful. -- update: next day and my fingers sting like a mother; I added photos to show the scabs forming near the beds. read more

I was able to land an appointment at lovely nail. I needed a refill on my extensions and the place I normally go too put the gel on quite thick and I didn't have the heart to complain or say anything. This is my favorite nail salon in Nj :) I like to come here for the spa pedicures! They're totally worth your money! They'll start with a scrub to exfoliate the dead skin. Then they'll lotion you up with some luxuriant lotion.. then wrap your legs in Saran Wrap.. then a hot towel (to moisturize you better!) I had an ingrown nail problem and Jane helped to cut it carefully, it was a painless process! I'm so grateful! Ask for Jane, she's the best! Including in the spa pedicure is a 10 minute massage and also hot stone massage.. ahhh such bliss. As your pedicure dries, they'll give you an awesome shoulder massage. And also help yourself to the fun size candies they have at the drying station. Plus side: they have their own private parking lot so you won't have to worry about looking for parking on the street! This place is close to home which is easy to get to. It's small but clean inside. I tried a couple of times to stop and get my nails done. First visit, wanted to see if they did acrylics and they don't, second time I stopped to see if they would remove my acrylics and they wouldn't. Couple of months went by and I had limited time needed to get a pedi done so I figured I'll try one last time. The prices are a tad high in comparison to others in the area. Experience...not a very friendly place (except for guy I think his name is John). The owner, very unfriendly. She will start your treatment and pass you onto someone else without telling you while you just sit and wait with feet in the water. She rings you up for payment while on private conversation via phone. And her demeanor is if you are Interrupting, annoyed and bothered. I went three times, this service was the norm. Needless to say the only thing good about this place is that it's close to home and clean. If your looking for good friendly customer service this is not the place for you. If you want a nice pedi they will do a decent job. Plus they have an exceptional selection in Polish and gels. Just don't expect any real communication regarding any types of treatments you may be interested in. read more

Eh... Everything was just ok. My technician didn't pay enough attention to detail, so I had to keep pointing things out to her. Furthermore, she kept asking if I wanted her to do things, as if I had to coax her to do the job correctly. It took away from the entire experience. Also, the hand and foot massages were weak. I do appreciate that the place has liners in the tubs and that they were kind enough to take me as a same day appt after a brief call. However, my experience did not warrant the pricey basic mani-pedi at $37; when I'm used to paying $26 for the same exact service (with tub liners) in NY. Loved everything about my first time experience at Lovely Nails. First thing i loved was that they had their own private parking. I went in for a pedicure and it was one of the most relaxing pedicures I've ever had. The nail tech took her time which i really appreciated because pedicures are my "me" time and should be relaxing and not rushed. I asked for a regular pedicure and normally at other places I've gone to that doesn't include a massage or hot stone, however this place did, which was so amazing! They offered me coffee which was also a really nice touch bc most places don't even have a water cooler let alone coffee! Because it was a cold and snowy day they put on footless socks for me so my feet could keep warm in my flip flops which was another plus!! I had my first appointment here on NYE day, last Thursday. I was immediately greeted upon arrival and asked to pick out a color. Once I picked out my gel color for my nails the woman who was going to do my nails and toes helped me match the color for my pedicure. They already had the pedicure tub filled up at the perfect temperature when I finished picking out my colors, which was super nice (the tub was also filled with a liner, which I liked a lot, made it feel cleaner. The woman took my coat and bag from me without asking, another nice touch. The pedicure was really relaxing and she took her time, I just wish she had turned on the massage chair for me, as sometimes I forget to do that (which I did). The gel manicure was also very relaxing, she took her time and asked me if I wanted my cuticles cut before doing it, which I appreciated. She also gave a great neck massage while my nails were finished and drying. When I was finally all finished and paying, she even gave me a "New Year's" gift, which was filled with an eye mask & lotion. VERY nice surprise. It has been a week and only 1 nail has slightly chipped (I was able to file it to fix it myself). I don't get my nails/toes done often, but when I do I will definitely come back here!! read more

I found this shop on Yelp and had a fantastic experience there this evening. I walked in at 6 pm and asked for UV gel manicure and pedicure. They close at 7. They were very gracious in saying yes and accommodating me (I did not have an appointment). Two lovely women who I think are the owners took care of me. They did the pedicure and manicure at the same time which was nice. They are meticulous about getting all of your cuticles snipped and cleaned up which is not the case everywhere and I really appreciated it. They are also meticulous about getting any stray polish or gel off of your skin which I also really appreciate. I was given a neck warmer and a spare one over my hands (which was a nice extra touch too). We had a nice chat about my reason for picking a bright orange color in the middle of winter. The pedicure included a massage and I was offered an additional 10 minutes for an additional charge and gladly accepted. It was a great choice. I had my first gel manicure at Lovely Nails. It was as good as I have gotten anywhere else and it was a bit less expensive. They are friendly and I like the setup they have (the ultraviolet lights are built in to the table manicure station as is a vacuum system. Very clever). It is small but I like that about it. Parking is available. They have a large selection of colors. Very good service, friendly, and efficient. They are now my go-to place for my manicure.
