This was my first chew at the brew! And I was pleasantly surprised. Love the wide open layout. I could envision the place hopping at night, full of fun folks with good taste in food and music. My friends, who are regulars, brought me here for lunch. On Friday the 13th. Turned out there was NOTHING superstitious going on. Whew! I gotta give a huge shoutout to our Brew Crew girl, Presley! I ain't crying...about her service, or her style, or her sense of humor. Wink Wink! She made our chew time at the brew a lot of fun. We felt welcome and appreciated. Hey! Updated review. Went last summer all was good. Decided to do take out this & I ordered the same thing, the quesadillas. I don't know what they're thinking but it was weird. It has fried chicken nuggets & some kind of sweet mustard like sauce & I assume cheese. Not what I was expecting, won't order that again. Hubby ordered fried pork belly & a portobello grilled cheese. Hugh Hood This was my exact thought sitting in the spacious hall of Hiawassee Brew on a beautiful autumn day. The brewery has that industrial feel and has a lot of seating in a great open space. The upstairs provides a great view of the lake and mountains. I tried a few different beers, most were good. I didn't love their IPA but they had others I enjoyed . Service was fast and friendly. Don't let the fact that it's a brewery fool you. The food being cooked up in the back is being done by a friggin culinary wizard. I've seen some compelling reviews of Hiawassee Brew so we decided to give them a try. Super friendly staff and the food was great. We started with the roasted oysters and I could have eaten at least a dozen more they were so good. I'm glad I didn't because I ordered the fried chicken and pimento cheese sandwich and it was out of this world good- and their fries, OMG! For my first visit I will give 5 stars. I really had nothing to complain about out. Locations is neat, very spacious seating area. Beer menu was widely varied and what I tried was good. I really enjoyed the barrel aged milk stout. Food was good as well. We had the Mexican Street Corn which was well prepared and hot. Also had an order of tacos which were a tad heavy on the greenery perhaps but plenty of meat too so I had no problem. I would definitely go again when I am in that area. read more

The food came out fairly quickly given the sign that says to be patient because it isn't a fast-food restaurant. I had the house smash burger, and it was excellent. I also had the tajin cucumbers instead of fries. I wasn't expecting the cilantro on it, but that was fine. The place really filled up while we were eating so I'm glad we got here before just 5:30 pm. Stopped here after a trip/ hike up to Brasstown Bald. We were famished and happy to see this place pop up as a nearby place! We were greeted quickly by Cameron who was lovely. She explained there was some construction happening and we wouldn't be able to use the outside / upstairs space so we found a spot inside. We ordered and happily waited for our appetizers while we thought about lunch. We had the bacon and trio. The bacon was amazing, and that's saying a lot from someone who wouldn't normally order bacon as an app. The trio was also good and came out quick. While we waited to order Lunch we saw another party walk outside and go upstairs. When we asked about it we were told the owner allowed it because they were a large party, of six. We had eight in our party... this sort of bothered us esp since within moments of this happening all the outside tables were taken up. I can only assume the owner didn't want to loose the business but I think it would have been nice to allow everyone up there from the start if she knew she would eventually allow it. For lunch we had the house burger, good but messy. The fish sandwich which was flaky and tender, fish and chips and the chicken and pickle quesadillas which honestly was the star for all of us! So good! We will absolutely be back when construction is done as we really wanted to sit upstairs and have the good view. read more

The place was pretty nice for the area. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and we quickly felt like a regular. Except we were sitting in actual regulars places. They were nice about it though and sat down further at the bar. There are plenty of beer selections unless you are a beer snob like me. And I did not like that it wasn't easily apparent which beers were theirs versus other breweries. Yes I could ask about each one but they were busy. We had looked at the food on their website and picked out what we wanted. None of that was actually on the menu at the place. I would say remove the online menu if you aren't going to keep it updated. I got the burger with all of the stuff on it along with fries. It was good as any I have had elsewhere. My wife got the fried haddock sandwich. It was ok. The fish didn't taste super fresh. The prep and all was great but couldn't cover up the fish taste or the too firm flesh. I was visiting the Hiawassee area today and we had lunch here. We were seated quickly by the very friendly and polite staff. I got a Basic Burger. The other people in my party got the Fish & Chips and the Shrimp Tacos. My burger was fantastic. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. They seem to have a great selection of micro brew beer and cider. I didn't indulge today, but I will surely be back to try one or two of the brews. A really nice experience overall. read more

Visited with family and friends on a Friday night. 7 of us and were told an hour. Took less time than that and the wait is quite fun. Grab a beer from a killer variety at the bar and head upstairs to enjoy the view. The stairs could've iffy for anyone with mobility issues so I'd recommend sitting at the bar if that's the case. I had the panko crusted haddock, its fried, I would prefer grilled, but, it was good. We enjoyed the many selections of beer, actually wanted to purchase one 6 pack for home, but, they didn't sell it. First time sat upstairs with our beers. Really nice view of Mountains. 2nd time downstairs as food isn't served upstairs. Very understandable because there are alot of stairs!!!! When we came to visit Brasstown Bald, we wanted to find somewhere to have a drink and some food, with a view. This place fit the bill. The pictures speak for themselves! The view from the upper deck is phenomenal, and it's less crowded than the patio and inside, due to there being no table service up there. But who cares! You order your food and drinks from the downstairs bar, and they deliver your food to you on the deck. We enjoyed some great beer, good food AND a stunning sunset over the mountains. 10/10 LOVED. This is a rustic, yet casually artistic place with both large indoor and outdoor dining/drinking options. If you want to dine outside on the second floor underneath their covered roof, you must order at the bar. Food options are fairly limited, but there is a decent amount of items to choose from, but it is mainly burgers and tacos. I had the House Burger, and although it was a bit overly seasoned, it was fresh and delicious. This came with a side of fresh cut fries, also awesome. They have 20 beers on tap! I went with a flight. A flight of four was a ridiculous $12. This is how most people, including myself, get acquainted with a brewer, they may want to reconsider gouging people for sampling their beer. Although two of the four beers were quite good they probably all would've been very good except that they were all served fairly warm. Not sure if they usually serve them this way, but hopefully not as they were all no more than 55° in temperature. I was going to speak with a staff member about it before I left, but the restaurant was busy and short staffed. Came in for dinner on a Tuesday. Service was great and food was fantastic. I'm not typically one to leave reviews, but to me this place definitely outperformed the 3.9 star average that they currently have. We had the street corn and queso as an appetizer. We've been going to Hiawassee for weekend trips for as long as I can remember and I can honestly say this is one of the best food experiences we've had there! I had seen this spot on social media a couple of times and noticed that the daily specials looked amazing, so we decided to give it a try! On this day the special was a "chick fil a quesadilla" meaning this was supposed to be like a chick fil a sandwich in quesadilla form, and oh my god it was delicious! My friends ended up ordering off the menu and got a burger and a taco, both of them loved it! We also tried beers off their extensive drink menu and enjoyed those as well! Meh, not impressed - party of 3, on a Tuesday afternoon only seating available was outside as inside bar area is fairly small. Ordered wings & chicken quesadilla, wings were good however the quesadilla was 2 pieces almost an inch thick, not hand food, where as what I have had else where would be half a tortilla cut into 4 pieces & edible by hand & easier to share. I love the variety on the food menu; something for everyone. They also have a large beer section so no one misses out. Such a wasted potential. The location looks cool, but they are definitely banking on the fact that there aren't very cool places in Hiawassee. Service was slow. Beers $8-10 (do they think they are in Atlanta??). It took 50 minutes to get a burger, which was mediocre, but see the attached photos of the french fries. Burnt, greasy, hard small pieces. Inedible. The manager refused to refund a portion of our bill after we showed it to him, because "the bill was already closed". What a poor excuse. We won't be back, and neither should you. If you want to drink beer and you're not hungry then this is the place for you to go. We went there on a Friday just after 6:00 and there was a 30 minute wait and I saw many tables open. When we finally got seated, it took hours for our food to come out. I got fish and chips. The fish was so spicy that I could hardly eat it and the fries were so soggy with grease that I didn't even eat them. My husband got the portabelo mushroom sandwich and it was punie and he didn't like the slaw. Very disappointing meal. The waitresses were super nice and apologetic- but that didn't make the experience worth the price. I suggest eating before you go and just get chips and salsa with your beer read more

This brewery is beautifuly stationed with a great view of the lake and has a plethora of beers to choose from in addition to a full food menu. The service was slightly below average, however perhaps we arrived at a very busy hour.
