My husband & I ate at Poor Parson's Pub a few days ago. It really was worth all the hype I've heard & read. I'm native to Murphy & I have not ever had a steak taste as good or be as tender at any other restaurant here. It's expensive but I've paid as much at other places with poor food quality and several drinks. It's just a small place. Hours are a little different as well.

Thursday night special is Prime Rib - done to perfection.

They say to remember it's a pub that serves food. Good food. Really good food. Servers are very attentive and well trained. White tablecloths. Black napkins. New silverware. Like you would find at a fine dining establishment. But it's a pub. The pub has a long bar and plenty of barstools and an excellent bartender. They have Guinness on draft! Beer, wine and liquor for the pub. The Master Chefs are behind glass walls right at the front of the restaurant. You can watch them do their magic. The pub is a bit noisy for table conversation. But it's a pub with TVs and some very fine dining. Hungry for a great steak or prime rib - give Poor Parsons Pub a try. You won't be disappointed. The pub opens at 4. Table seating begins at 5. Get your name on the list early if you want a table.

Back home for a short visit. Traveling over the country building restaurants it was a pleasant surprise to visit Poor Parsons pub this evening in Murphy. Service was right on top and very attentive. Meal was very good everything prepared properly and fresh. Open kitchen where you can watch the food being prepared. started the meal with fried oysters which are fresh and tasty. Follow up with a fresh salad with homemade poppyseed dressing. And finished with the steak scott and grilled asparagus. Everything is very fresh and well prepared.

The food was cooked to perfection! Our family of four really enjoyed our meal. The ambiance is lovely, service was friendly , and the meal tasted amazing. I would recommend this place for locals and those passing through. What a lovely addition to Murphy.

Everything was spot on. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and absolutely delicious. Great service and a relaxed, upscale vibe--already looking forward to coming back."

What a great asset to Murphy to have this excellent restaurant downtown. The food, service and ambiance are all exceptional.

The best meal I have had in Murphy in years! Try the steak over lobster cream. The place was hopping.

The esthetic of this place is perfection. Good open lay out and even better vibes. The option to…read moresit inside or outside always brings me joy. The food was delicious and fresh. Everything came to our table pipping hot. We had the fried green tomatoes, the club, and the notorious pig! Everything was fresh and didn't leave us feeling overly full and gross. The food and ambiance will bring us back but Olivia's service will keep us coming back. She understood the assignment. We told her we were hungry and she made things happen. She continuously checked on us but didn't hover. She was friendly and efficient. Service with a smile is always appreciated, thank you!

The beers of my flight were very quick to be provided and each was excellent (see Untappd for details). The food must have been expedited as it arrived within literal minutes of the order being placed. I'm a tremendous To kill a Mockingbird fan so I had to get the Boo Radley. I was not disappointed. The venue is open, clean, nice outdoor area, and family friendly. I hope to return for some of the other delicious foods I saw being delivered to other tables. With luck, you'll have service as spectacular as what Madalyn delivered on my outing.
