We have been coming to this place since 2017 for good sushi. The prices are really reasonable for the rolls. We pay average $6 for a regular roll and the specialty rolls are average $13. We had Sake ($4.50 for the small and 7.50 for the large) and beer ($5) with our meal which was $61 before tipping for 3 people. The inside is very ambient and the staff is friendly. I was impressed with this place. It's in a strip mall next to a Subway and I probably would have skipped it if I hadn't seen all the great reviews. It's perfect if you want quality tasty sushi but don't want to pay premium prices. Greenville's sushi scene is hit or miss so it's great to have a solid affordable option in the area. This place and Tenji are easily my favorites. Like Tenji, they also offer an AYCE option. For lunch it's $15 and for dinner $20. I haven't tried this option yet so I can't speak to its value but the dinner price is much cheaper than Tenji. We had the Salmon Katsa Roll, Lady in Red Roll, Rainbow Roll, & Mango Shrimp Roll The Lady in Red was my favorite. It was delicious and had tons of flavor. It's Kani, tuna, and tempura flake with spicy sauce sliced tuna and tobiko on top Definitely try this one. We always order a Rainbow Roll wherever we go and this was one was definitely very good and one of the better ones in the area. The mango was cool to mix up the flavor and add something more sweet. I enjoyed that one a lot. This is a good spot if you're craving sushi. Definitely give it a try. If it's after 10pm head over to Otto Izzakaya for half off sushi. Super hungry this evening and did not have time to cook dinner so I decided to try Hibachi Cafe. I was greeted by two unfriendly people: possibly owner and daughter/cashier. Anyway, I did not take it personally because I was hungry and unemotional. So, I ordered teriyaki salmon and returned in 15 minutes as advised. Upon entering, I saw two orders on the table and just waited. The cashier just looked at me and owner comes out and read aloud my order. I nodded yes and he pushes it toward me, did not thank me and looked at me like I had 4 heads. I will not return because it's clear they do not want my business. About me: I was well dressed and received multiple compliments throughout the entire day, mainly from men. Maybe, jealousy or my vibrant personality. Not about race because owner was pleasant to a woman who looked similar to me but wore jeans and gym shoes. He handed her carry out bag to her. Who knows??? The food was bad: salmon and veggies were so overcooked (see pic) but I ate the salmon bc I was so hungry. I threw the rest in the trash. I hate leaving negative reviews. read more

This spot is a pretty nice spot to duck into when you want sushi not from the grocery store, but you don't want to pay high end, sushi restaurant prices. Just remember, with most sushi places, what is sacrificed in price is usually in direct correlation with a sacrifice in quality. Quality of the nigiri yellowtail and whitefish were on par with what i expected from a place like this. The Greenville Roll and the Rock and Roll rolls were good choices. If you visit this establishment, give those rolls a try. The service is a little lackluster but they do keep very clean bathrooms. I ordered hot green tea and i received a ceramic cup which felt as if it had been placed in a microwave to heat up the green tea; it was extremely hot to the touch. We went to this restaurant for the first time tonight. The place is very small. I would say the service is terrible. We eat at different Asian restaurants often and this would have to be the worst. We were greeted with a young girl who may be the owners daughters she was not the friendliest. She sat us down to take our drink order and that was it. We didn't get any other service for about 15 more mins. She finally comes back and took our order. Once we received our food and began to eat we noticed no one ever checked on us. I had to go ask the other young girl at the counter for napkins and she gave me two. After sitting again for another 20 mins no one ever asked if we enjoyed our food or anything. Never again, the 4 pieces were drizzled with chocolate and the batter was deep fried...The 1st bite was very greasy....I don't like biting into grease and cheese. YUCK !!! The only accretional thing was the Cheese Steak Egg Roll $3.30 each. Note too bad. My sister and I went here due to the Yelp rating. We ended up ordering takeout due to time constraints. We ordered salmon hibachi bento, chicken teriyaki bento, spicy tuna rolls, salmon avocado roll, and avocado salad. At first glance, the avocado salad looked very disappointing, it was basically lettuce and avocado. However, the ginger dressing definitely elevated it to a whole different level. The lettuce was crunchy and refreshing and I guess I've never tasted lettuce like that before. I loved everything in the salmon hibachi bento (except for the egg roll because my brother ate that). Salmon was perfectly/simply seasoned with salt and pepper. It went very well with the very flavorful sautéed vegetables and rice. The five star review really was earned because of their rice game. I'm Asian and I just have zero tolerance for bad rice.... There is really no excuse. Their sushi rice is what's up. Tasted very fresh, great texture and subtly flavored with vinegar. We came in with a group of 9 people and they were all packed with their normal seats. We were able to all fit at the sushi bar. I chose to do the AYCE sushi buffet they had where you pick what you want on a menu and they put the orders in a la carte style. It costs 21.95. My friend ordered Yakisoba on the regular menu and he said it was a little too salty for his taste. He also ordered the cheesecake which was semi frozen. The options on the buffet list were limited. The pros of the ayce options was that the rolls were amazing. Probably the best rolls I've had to be honest. If you love sushi rolls it's a good deal to do the ayce. But on the other hand the nigiri was not great because of the rice to fish ratio. It was obvious that they have a protocol to pack as much rice to a sliver of fish to ensure that the customers get full off of the rice so they wouldn't be able to order more. The fish was great though but I wasn't able to order more because you will get charged extra if you don't eat the rice. This place is a family owned and they have little children helping around the older adult waiters. The waiters don't come around as frequently so make sure to get enough to last for two rounds. Would I come again? Probably not because we have Tenjis' in Greenville. But the rolls were nice though! read more

Went for lunch with some friends. The food and value were easy fives. The only reason I dropped a star is because of the accuracy ordering pressure. The process is that you order from a menu and you can order all you want for one fixed price, but they will charge you extra if you do not eat almost every bite. Since you do not control the serving size and it was my first time there I had no idea how much to order. My friend that goes there a lot says they are very strict on this policy. A lot of the sushi is tasty, but comes with a ton of rice. I do not love rice, but, from my understanding they will charge you if you leave much rice. We ordered a lot of food and I ate until I was uncomfortable to avoid being charged double for throwing away rice. The rolls were much bigger than I expected. Overall the food was great. The service was good. The value was fine. My advice is to plan to stay long enough to order twice. Order light at first and see how you feel before committing to a ton of food you have to pay twice for or force yourself to eat. read more

They advertise different specials all of the time, and during this particular visit, it was 50% OFF ALL SUSHI! I usually go for the shrimp tempura, but this time I tried the Godzilla roll, and it was AMAZING! The shrimp fried rice was okay, but the sushi was ON POINT!
