Where a baby is gonna sit and eat? Sickening

Some restaurants should be closed. This is one of them. I love a good buffet but this place is dangerous. The negligence is horrendous. Everywhere you look is dirty and it made it impossible to trust the food was safely prepared. In fact my stomach started to turn when I looked at the floor where the food is being served. The place is very dirty and the staff does not care. I told the manager and he didn't look concerned. Our city deserves better. I really wish the health department would rate them accordingly. Gross. The bathroom smelled like sewage. I can't imagine they cleaned the toilets very well. All the floors were dirty. Carpet looked like they have never been shampooed or cleaned. A restaurant should not have carpet anyway. Especially a high traffic restaurant like this buffet. The poor babies are sitting in really dirty booster seats with old food stuck to them. This place looks so dirty. And they charge a premium for mediocre quality food. The food looked better than it tastes. It's not a good experience. Please, go to the one down the street. They keep a much cleaner standard. And the food is better there too.

Shrimp curry soup, sushi, and black pepper chicken

Took the family here to try out and we really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, selection was huge, and the price was very affordable. $12.99 for lunch (adults) and includes hibachi, sushi bar, soup bar , salad bar, and many other options. I enjoyed the sushi options and shrimp curry soup. We came at around 12:30 on a Wednesday and the place was very busy. Will come by again.

This place consistently offers good food and service. It's the best Asian buffet in town, in my opinion.

Great service. Loved the food. It was loud but I just ignored it. The sushi is awesome, along with all the other food.

Food is tasty and has a great selection. Two people can eat for $36. These days it is a reasonable cost. Arrive early! Gets super crowded!

Good place, the selection of food was good enough for a buffet. Really good ice cream for a buffet. Hibachi is a nice touch!

How much $$ per person for buffet at 2 pm on Saturday? We had six of us and never received a written itemized bill yesterday but was brought a CC receipt for $120. My husband signed and told me in the car. Had I known I would have called a manager

I find that odd. They always provide an itemized bill along with the credit card sheet for you to sign in. Otherwise $120 sounds about right. In fact that's on the cheap side. A party of three costed us $175

What's the prices like?

Around $8-10 lunchtime $10-12 dinner (Without drink)…

Do they have crawfish?

They've had them every time I've gone so far.

The server for buffet over the weekend brought me a placemat that was dirty from plates collected…read morefrom a previous patron's table. I set that aside and tried to avoid the moisture on the napkin my silverware was wrapped in. When I went to get food, most of it was covered which I guess is good, but to get to the food, it was awkward balancing the covers or having to place them on another covered tray to be able to serve myself. When I compare the food and environment here to other places that offer Indian cuisine buffets, for the $20 with tax I'd rather go to Kabab and Curry not too far from here on Hillsborough St. There is more food available, it is fresher, the environment overall seems more hygienic and well-organized, and the food has better flavor and seems less greasy at Kabab and Curry. The only difference is having to pay for parking or parking a bit further away for a free spot--but for what you pay at Curry Club and they only offer buffet over the weekend, Kabab and Curry is better and offers more value and is where I will probably go from now on. The only way Curry Club's buffet would make sense is if they brought the price down. I'd put their food quality about on par with China Queen's weekday Chinese buffet, but China Queen has the better sense to charge less for the quality and experience they offer their customers. If you're already in the plaza and it's convenient to drop in over the weekend, give Curry Club a try, but if you can make it a little further north, Kabab and Curry is the better place. It is worth noting that Curry Club has interesting theme days and specials that may offer more value and culinary enjoyment than what I was able to experience while I was there including weekend breakfast combos, and weeknight dosa, biryani, and rice deals. They also have momos and spring rolls that look delicious (though I can't vouch yet). They stock authentic items like frozen Shahi Kulfi (not included in the buffet), and beverages like Delhi Darling, Thumsup, and Limca. If I go back, it'll be to sample dosas at Dosa Night or see what I think about the momos and spring rolls. I'll update when and if I find out and get to sample more.

we got the hot pot & kbbq combo for about $27 per person…read more i started with the thai tom yum broth, but it tasted far from an authentic tom yum. i also wasn't too impressed with the hot pot add-ins. the kbbq was definitely the highlight of the meal. the plain pork belly was my favorite, while my boyfriend really liked the garlic pork belly. the chicken bulgogi had a very subtle bulgogi flavor so that was disappointing. we ordered three rounds of meat, and everything came out quickly. they have a self-serve sauce bar with sauces, fried snacks, and a few desserts. ordering is done on an ipad, which is convenient, but ours started at 9% battery and the screen was already greasy before we even touched it. i think these should be cleaned and charged between parties. our server, alex, was attentive throughout the meal. his introduction was a little odd because he spent the whole time looking down at the ipad while explaining how it worked, barely making any eye contact, and speaking so quietly that it was hard to hear him. aside from that, service was good. the tables were clean, the sauce bar was well stocked, and parking was easy.

Want to know how I know that this place is good? I've been here three times. Each time, I have…read moreover-ordered, probably have ordered 2-3 too many dishes. Each time, I've over-ordered, I've over-eaten. And each time, I have had no regrets, the food here is authentic, delicious and I love all of the people working here. Tucked inside the Oriental Mart, Filipino Express Restaurant was my first true taste of Filipino cuisine and I just cannot get enough of it. It is the go-to place of many of my Filipino friends, who have introduced me to many popular and even some uncommon delights. My previous knowledge of Filipino food was fairly limited, mainly to the traditional items which of course, Filipino Express has. Their lechon kawali (fried pork), pancit (noodles) and lumpia (Filipino spring rolls) are must gets, with each item being super fresh and tasty. Despite my admiration for the classics, there are so many new things that I've tried here that are also fantastic that I just can never decide. I guess that is why we always over-order. My new love is sinigang, a tangy soup that is filled with pork. While the sour may throw you off, it is so comforting. The longganisa is a Filipino sausage that has a unique sweetness to it that is just undeniably great. And the kare kare is a unique take on pork, with the main sauce being made of peanuts. It is a rich dish, but a unique flavor that is good at balancing out the fried and savory flavors. Lastly, I first experienced a halo halo here and it may just be a top 5 dessert. It is so much fun to eat, and delicious too! I covered some of my favorites here, but this really just scratches the surface of all of the amazing things that Filipino Express offers. I am always excited to go back and try something new, maybe the next thing I should try to do is not leave in a food coma!
