Sesame Chicken and Crab rangoon a
    Emily O.

I ordered take out and the service was pretty fast, took only about 10 minutes. I got the sesame chicken and crab rangoons and both were very good! Very classic and just what i was looking for. It was a little pricey but one dish can be split between 2.

This place is the best! I've been coming here for years and it always hits the spot. Everything is great but my number one rec is the general tso's chicken and I love their hot and sour soup as well. The staff is super nice and accommodating. It's a nice chill spot to dine in as well while you do work or read a book etc. great portions as well. Definitely what I needed on a rainy day.

This is what you expect when you come to a fast food Chinese restaurant. Simple food, reasonable price, and decent taste. The restaurant itself is really rundown with very minimal seating. Services decent, and you can get your food pretty quick. Taste wise, it's really average. I've had much better, fast food, Chinese food, but also much worse. My one complaint is that their fried rice and their noodles mostly just salty rather than having other nice flavors in it. I will give them credit because I asked for it to be spicy, and they gave a delicious chili oil on the side.

Consistently tasty Chinese restaurant near Meredith. I always pass this joint driving along Hillsborough. It's an unassuming stand alone building along the road with a slim parking lot. When I saw the reviews, I decided on a whim to stop by and haven't been disappointed since. It's mostly a take out place, although they do have tables inside of you want eat fresh. Since the pandemic they have placed some protection in front of the cashier stand. The owners have a thick accent and can be curt, but they're nice people and busy since it's popular with the students. This recent order was for the Hunan chicken dinner combo. Egg roll not pictured. Standard veggies with chicken in a brown sauce. A "healthier" option for American Chinese food since there's some vitamins instead of just fried chicken ;) The sauce has a nice kick with the pepper flakes and it's not overly greasy like some other places I've visited. I ordered the fried rice with egg: classic taste. The egg roll has a hint of mustard.

The number of positive Yelp reviews brought me to this restaurant on a Saturday evening. This is a takeout restaurant that has a few tables that you can eat at, but there is no waitress or waiter service. We were excited to see that they had moo shu chicken on the menu, so two of us ordered the combination dinner that included an egg roll fried rice and two pancakes. It was less than one minute from having our name called to eating. The egg rolls were already lukewarm and soggy. The main meal was hot, but the dish was skimpy on the chicken. Overall, I rate this as a good place but would not go out of my way to return.

Unfortunately I devoured all of my food before remembering to take a picture. I guess that's a sign it was good? Their website is a little vague on lunch combos so I called my order in for a sesame chicken combo (rice and egg roll) which was ready in 10 minutes. The parking lot is a bit small, but you can always park along the road right beside it. The employee greets me upon walking in and had everything ready. I was in and out in probably two minutes. My dinner was good except there was one funky piece of chicken that was cooked too much and tasted like shrimp (before I realized it and spit it out). Overall, it's one of the good Chinese places in the area (yet still not as good as Red Pepper Asian).

If you're looking for simple cheap Chinese food...this is the place. It's right near NC state and Meredith so it's pretty popular for college kids. They have great lunch deals and good dinner combinations. You can get an entree, rice, and an egg roll for right around $8. I also judge a place by their crab Rangoons and these ones are great! I have had their sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, broccoli with beef, general Tsos chicken, all good options. Do not be discouraged by the looks of this place, good quality cheap Chinese food.

A friend just told me about this place and I'm so surprised I never stopped by after always driving down Hillsborough. They have a very large and extensive menu and everything is super cheap. It is a hole in the wall spot and a small family business. The price is so good for the portions and they really have everything. I got chicken wings and chicken fried rice for my first time because I wasn't too hungry and wanted a quick bite but it was super delicious! I loved their crab Rangoon as well- I love places who actually fill up the roll because many places crab Rangoon's always have a large amount of crust with little filling. My friend got the pork dumplings (I don't eat pork) and said she always gets them because they're so good. If they offered a different filling I would've tried but they don't. When scrolling on yelp I see that everyone gets and loves the sesame tofu so my mind has been set on going back to try it so I can see what the hype is about. Will update!

1st thing I wanna say is i appreciate this place being the only Chinese restaurant open near my house at 10pm on a Sunday! Interior: the inside of the restaurant isn't much. I wouldn't recommend dining in, the inside has a stench that smells like sewer It makes me sick to my stomach, I almost canceled my order. Also the glass door which is the entrance is shattered and doesn't look safe. Process: I ordered online using their website, I placed my order at 9:30, It was confirmed at 9:31 with a estimated finish time of 9:49. So I showed up at 10pm expecting my food to had been ready but I had to wait an additional 20 minutes. So It took my food an hour to be ready. Which is fine! But don't send me a text at 9:50 saying my order is ready when It in fact isn't and won't be ready for another 30 minutes. That's an issue. Food: I ordered sesame chicken, orange chicken, white rice, egg rolls and fried wontons. The fried wontons and egg rolls didn't have much flavor they just tasted like the oil they were fried in. But everything else was amazing.

Still the best! The Tofu! Ask for "light on the sauce".

I came right before a show at the Alamo Drafthouse around the corner, which makes it the perfect night out for dinner and show. It looks like a lot of people order takeout here, but they have ample tables and do offer an excellent dine in service. I loved their green beans and eggplant. All their food felt more authentic and homestyle than your typical run of the mill Chinese place. The food had flavor, and it wasn't overly greasy either! I ordered the lo mein, bamboo flounder fish, and a side of fried rice. Unfortunately, the lo mein was extremely greasy, the fried rice was overly salty, and the shrimp was hard, overcooked and not fresh. When I informed the waiter that I would not be eating the lo mein due to its condition, I was told that I would still have to pay for it and that it did not matter whether I liked it or not. He initially refused to remove the dish from my bill. After eventually taking it off, he told me that he never wanted to see my face again as I was leaving. What disappoints me most is that I genuinely enjoyed this restaurant and had been a repeat customer. The decline in food quality combined with the way my concerns were handled has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I was actually a little nervous going in because certain Chinese dishes tend to upset my stomach, so I tried to avoid some of the heavier noodle and chicken dishes that normally do that to me. I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside -- absolutely delicious. Then I tried the pork-filled bao buns, which was my first time ever having them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them too. Everyone else at our table seemed to really enjoy their food as well. I genuinely didn't hear a single complaint. We also ordered some drinks that were delicious, and both our server and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming throughout the night. The atmosphere and vibes inside are honestly one of the coolest parts of the experience. It somehow feels like a mix between a brewery, a florist, a bookstore, and a Chinese restaurant all at once. It's such an interesting and unique space that doesn't really feel like anywhere else. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would absolutely come back to try more items on the menu.

We were ravenous, but had an intense Chinese food craving, so we ordered Chengdu 7 food from Uber Eats. Food did not disappoint! We ordered sesame chicken, chef special fried rice, chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef*, shrimp fried rice, and everything was delicious! Fan favorites were the Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice, but honestly EVERYTHING was good. I ordered the cold flour noodle with sesame sauce and the shaanxi mutton soak buns. Both were tasty and the cold noodles were refreshing. The employee described the mutton soak buns dish as a soup soaked pancake which is pretty accurate. It reminds me of a rice porridge but with chopped dough instead of rice. The restroom is in the back through the kitchen which is kinda cool because you can see them rolling out all the round flat bread that they use for the dishes. I'm guessing it's what they use for the rougamo (I've seen it at other Chinese restaurants described as a Chinese hamburger) and the shaanxi soak buns. It almost has a gnocchi type of consistency. It isn't your average fried rice and stir fry type of Chinese restaurant so if you're looking for something like that it might not meet your expectations. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. Also, get the plum juice. It's delicious!
