Haven't had hibachi takeout in well over 5 years. My kids asked to try it so after looking online at multiple places in the WF area, I chose this Hibachi Japan near the Walmart. Mainly because it was the only place that has their full menu available for online ordering and allows the choice of rice or noodles. Ordering was super easy and it was ready quickly. Place was dead when I arrived so I was nervous about the food. It was excellent as far as this style of take out food goes. We got a shrimp with rice and a steak with noodles and everyone enjoyed their dinner plus there's leftovers for tomorrow. Flavors were exactly as I remember hibachi. This place was pretty good. I got the scallop hibachi. The scallops were tender although appeared to have been cut in half and were very thin. Would have preferred them whole. I didn't love all the sauce they used to cook with scallops and veggies in before serving. It was sweet and too much in my opinion. With that said, it was a lot of food, the staff was very friendly and the take out process was seamless. 100% meh. I was craving some hibachi tonight and didn't feel like sitting in traffic to get to Kanki so I looked up this place on yelp. Since it had a few good reviews I thought I'd give it a shot. Kinda wish I hadn't... I got the spring roll and the hibachi chicken & steak, which comes with onions, zucchini and mushrooms and a side of "fried" rice. The chicken, onions, zucchini and mushrooms were ok, but the steak was so gristly that I only found 1 or 2 passable pieces. Thank goodness for the white sauce because it made everything much more edible. I put quotes around "fried rice" because this was definitely not anything close to fried rice. This was regular rice that'd been colored with soy sauce or beef broth, had nothing else in it (no egg, veggies, nada) and was slightly under cooked to boot. Great priced and great food! The steak I got was delicious, and white sauce was great too and not water downed like I have had at other take out Japanese restaurants. The tempura chicken was anything but lightly battered. The coating was so heavy and full of oil that my daughter had to peel off the batter because it was making her sick. The fried rice was more of a brown-colored rice and lacked flavor without piling-on the white sauce. The Hibachi chicken was good and prepared well, but very few pieces of onion and zucchini and the rice was the same as previously described. I honestly love their shrimp and steak hibachi and their white sauce but most people called them the YUM YUM sauce. Practically all their prices are under $10 and fill you up completely unless you add a drink which is a little expensive $2.04 (with tax) your choice but understandable since it is free refill. While looking at the menu I noticed they do not have a lot of various types of sushi just the normal common sushi nothing too fancy (No Sashimi). I assumed that they mostly main on entree's rather than sushi but HECK!... since I am here I might tried their sushi at least once. Ordered the Crunchy Tempura Roll which I thought was pretty good but not superbly excellent like I had tried in other sushi bars. And for "Tina M" I definitely know North Carolina people have good taste in Japanese Foods especially where ever I drive I seen plenty of Hibachi and Sushi restaurants nearby. It is sadden to know I read your other reviews complaining about ordering frozen fish products from all the way down South Western Coast of Texas when you live in the East Coast which provide freshly caught fish that can be sold in the local super market whether is tuna or other kinds of fish.
