Tenderloin dinner with bbq sauce. Crispy hash browns with onion, bacon and cheese. Amazing!

This is one of the best places in Dayton. A rich history, fabulous service and wonderful food at an amazing price. It's an old school, no nonsense place for a great dining experience.

Great food. The service was quick and efficient. Love the European vibes. The price is perfect for the amount of food they provide.

This has become a regular stop for us on our annual Dayton trips to visit the Alma Mater. Very old fashioned and often crowded so you know it's going to be good. I went with the BBQ half chicken and hash browns. Another guest in our party had the full slab of ribs and said they were among the best ever. I believe they do take reservations but we got in without one at 6pm on a Friday, though most tables were full. Can't wait to be back!

I came to this restaurant bc my gf recommend. I was concerned about the lack of reviews or recent reviews I was relieved once I got there. It's a local place and older crowd that frequents this establishment so it made sense to me there wasn't a lot of reviews. Arrived at 5 pm to standing room only in the waiting area. They said it would be 1 hour wait. Luckily found a seat at the bar. 15 minutes after arriving got a table. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Brought bread and drinks quickly. Gf had rack of ribs with Tossed salad and house dressing. She enjoyed it very much. Ribs might have been slightly over cooked but sauce was very good. I had the king cut New York strip. It was well prepared had good flavor. Again slightly over cooked but it was fine. The baked potato with butter and sour cream was excellent. I enjoyed the house dressing on the tossed salad as well.

    Cabbage roll, with rib sampler.

This place is pretty inconspicuous on the outside but they have great food. The filet and salmon are great. There's always good service too.

There was plenty of parking and signage. They have a varied and very authentic menu to choose from! We ordered a broth based lo mein noodle bowl and a hand pulled cold dry noodle bowl. BF added on a braised egg and I ordered a Taiwanese sausage on a stick. Yum on all accounts! Chili oil was automatically brought to us and the waitress was super friendly as well as bilingual. Food was brought out within 5-10 minutes of ordering. YES!! presentation and taste were perfect. Their prices and portions are reasonable and I love everything about this place, down to their cat portraits adorning the walls! Wish this place opened a location in Cleveland! I saw that they have spots in Cincy and Cbus!!

The noodles are actually made in-house and have a lovely texture. I got the Classic Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup and was definitely not disappointed. The broth is light, but full of flavor at the same time. It is truly very comforting on a cold winter night. I think the beef slices on there are a bit tough, but it's not too big of an issue. The portion sizes are actually crazy. I got the regular size and could finish maybe just half to 2/3 of the noodles, along with a majority of the beef. I can't imagine how massive the large bowl would be... For health, I also ordered some stir-fried bok choy. This was stir fried well, but I'm not really sure what the flavor profile was supposed to be. Is it garlic? Is it spicy? I couldn't really place it. The prices are very fair for the quality of food they provide, and service throughout the night was decent. I will probably be back again, if I visit Dayton! The burger was juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly, and packed with great taste in every bite. You can tell they care more about making good food than trying to be fancy. If you're making the trip to Buc-ee's and want something local instead of chain fast food, Rip Rap Roadhouse is definitely worth the stop. Great burger, cool atmosphere, and one of those places you're happy you discovered by accident.
