3 meat plate; Brisket, ribs, and hot links. Beans and potato salad

The food is always good! The owners are always nice and friendly. Do make sure you call first before making that drive, unless you will already be in the area. The food is that good that they do run out fast.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! In fact, if you don't slow down as you approach the business, you'll miss it and have to drive a ways down the road to turn around. Don't be afraid of the outside appearance of this business, it's truely serves up the one of the best Texas style barbecues! The place is very rustic with limited inside seating and awesome blues music playing continuously! The moment you walk into the door you are greeted by Kelly with a big smile from behind the counter. After welcoming you to her restaurant, she will inform you first off that they take cash only for payment and one other type of electronic payment, maybe Zelle? This establishment offers the typical meat barbecue selection, pork ribs, brisket, sliced or chopped, chicken and hot links. These protiens are offered in 2 or 3 meat "plates" with 2 sides and white bread. The sides offered on the day we visited were a creamy macaroni salad, and barbecue baked beans. We both ordered the 2 meat plates. My husband ordered double ribs with beans and macaroni salad. I ordered ribs and sliced brisket with double macaroni salad. The ribs were tender, and juicy. The rub gave the ribs a great flavor. The brisket was so tender and juicy. The brisket had a nice smoke ring. The barbecue sauce complemented both meats and was not overpowering. The creamy macaroni salad tasted just like my mother-in law's recipe. The barbecue bake beans were good. On the day we ate there, they offered moonshine sweet tea, moonshine lemonade, a few canned soft drinks and bottled water. We ordered the sweet tea and lemonade. They both were served in quart size mason jars, which served as our "to-go" cups. Both drinks were sweet with a unique after taste, the tea more than the lemonade. Both drinks were good. We ate inside but you also eat on the front porch or get plates to go. While we were there, Kelly was constantly taking phone orders. She said people call in orders early in the day and then pick them up later in the day. They are only open Thursday through Sunday, 11 am until they sell out. Kelly and Kerry are very welcoming hosts and great cooks! We will definitely stop in again the next time we are in the area!

This was hands down the BEST barbecue I've ever had in my life. And don't get me started on the sweet tea!!! Please try it if you get the chance. I had the ribs, brisket, beans, and mac and good god do I wish I could go back for seconds!!! This place is magical and you need to try it for yourself! Service was excellent as well, a 10/10 establishment overall!

The food is amazing the service is wow and I love sitting on the porch with a whiskey barrel for a table. The Tea is so freaking good. I would eat there for every day they are ope if it didn't take me a hour to get there.

Food was fabulous. Tried all three meats - ribs, brisket and sausage. Hands down sausage was my favorite. Recommend trying their homemade moonshine tea and lemonade. Outside seating only. Come early, they sell out fast - and bring cash. No credit cards accepted. Worth the drive.

Off the beaten bath, Hickory Hill Barbeque is a bit of a challenge to find. The challenge was so worth it. The food was amazing. We got here somewhat late for lunch, and the items left were limited. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The sausage was delicious. The baked beans and potato salad were almost as good as my mom's. The owner was friendly and really fun to talk to. She asked us about our visit to Tyler and regaled us with her stories of how she came to live here. She was a wonderful cook as well as a sweet person to talk to. This little spot was by far our favorite restaurant for barbecue in Tyler. With amazing food, and super great service, this will be our first stop for barbecue when we're back in Tyler!

Small with outside seating around barrels

Omg the best barbeque ever & we have tried a lot. The brisket & ribs with homemade barbeque sauce (yum) melt in your mouth, homemade Moonshine Leomonade is amazing. The service was great, a small buisness run by husband & wife. A small cozy with seating outside, cash only, Thursday thru Sunday until the food runs out. We gave them 5 stars & will be back & invite our friends!!

Terrific family owned restaurant. I think the Moonshine Tea (no alcohol, just full of enough sugar to amp you up and instantly be addictive) is the best I'e ever had. You can order from what's available, so going on the earlier side is smart because when they are out they are out. We had brisket, chicken and sausage. All were tasty, though I enjoyed the chicken the most. It was smoky and tender-juicy. Delicious! Sides are preset: Potato salad and beans. My favorite part: There's one menu. Just share because there's only one. But who cares - just ask what you should get and the family will tell you. Worth the stop on Hwy 31 (and many return visits).

This place is excellent. Best brisket in E. Texas and that says a lot. Get the volcano taco!

Long story short this place has everything you want except maybe Beef Ribs. The sides were awesome, I picked up some roasted squash and roasted potatoes. Very good. And went with a 3 meat plate 25.99. With Taxes and everything the tab came out to about 29.00+. Not bad, considering something like this out in Los Angeles would probably set you back close to 40.00. The baby back ribs were tender and retained most of its moisture, AAA. Brisket was alright, dries out really easily, preferred even thinner cut, but had a decent fat to lean meat marbling. Last meat option, I went with Spicy Sausages. It was infused with cheddar, and in all honesty, probably should have went with a slice of ham or pulled pork. Overall a pretty decent place for meat lovers. Raw onions and BBQ sauce are AYCE. This be my third time ordering here over the past 2 years driving cross country. Overall a solid stop for a fast casual eatery with Southern flare. Shout-out to the young Southern gentleman with the slick back haircut serving everyone. Very well mannered, super polite, courteous, professional, and charismatic. Excellent crew.
