Really nice stay at Hickory Point RV Park. First off -- the people running this place genuinely care, and it shows from the moment you check in to helping guide your RV into the spot. The park is spotless -- no garbage anywhere -- and they really put effort into creating a welcoming atmosphere. The weekend we were there they had camper events like coffee & bagels one morning, and hot dogs and s'mores another evening (we didn't take advantage, but it was a nice touch). Great amenities if you don't need a pool. There are a couple of small private beaches on the inlet, comfortable seating areas to relax and watch the boats go by, and they also offer kayaks and SUPs to borrow. The location is excellent -- just a few miles from Tarpon Springs and a little farther to Dunedin, Honeymoon Island, etc., right off Alt 19. We stayed in spot 117. We have a 30-foot RV and had no issues fitting. That said, the spaces in that area are a bit tight, so if you like to spread out and hang outside at your site, you'll probably want to take advantage of the beautiful common waterfront spaces with tables and chairs instead. One thing worth noting -- and it's nothing the park can control -- if you're bringing bikes or hoping to hop on the Pinellas Trail, it's very close, but getting there by bike or foot can feel dangerous. Cars fly down the road and there's no sidewalk. Overall, we had a great few days and evenings here and definitely plan to come back! read more

Staff was nice enough. But we were asked to take down a screened sitting area. They said it was a 'tent', not allowed. We took it down ( we like it for our dogs to be able to sit outside without being tethered to a leash). Said we couldn't put a mattress on the grass....it wasn't grass....just weeds and dirt. The fact that no bathrooms are on their website should have been a hint that their facilities were not great....just three (3) portable shower/bathroom stalls. No laundry facilities (looks like something is being built). No pool ( but we knew that) read more

We came to spend one day but ended up spending three. It's a very friendly place with the owner/staff being very hospitable. We could walk down to the beach and they had a small beach with boat docs and everything you may want including a fire pit game area, etc. we really enjoyed the place and would highly recommend it as a good place to stay. It's close to Tarpon Springs and we took Uber into town to have dinner. We had Walmart deliver groceries and we used Uber eat for a very very fast lunch. That was fantastic at good value. read more

Thanks Chris for giving your potential customers a standard policy review. But you neglected the fact that I have cancer and don't have long. I asked you to make an exception because of my medical condition and you quoted your no deposit refund policy. Maybe you really just don't care? I was not asking because I sold my RV or something other than cancer. Yes you moved my registration from the original to the following year but my condition worsened. I just wanted to straighten out my affairs and payoff bills so my wife would not have to. I know the KOA you also manage has policies also. Hope you stay healthy. read more

Beware, Beware, Beware. Life happens. Medical emergencies happen. I booked with Hickory Point then my mother had emergency surgery. I canceled 20 days from my booking. I was NOT refunded any money. I was given half in credit. That bought only 3 days in the park. And that had to be used within 6 months. Not convenient for me at all because I live 800 miles away. I came and we stayed one night. There is only one shower that works in the men's bathroom and only one toilet. The bathrooms are way outdated. A plus is the park is clean and quiet and right next to the water but it is quite pricey. They refused to refund my money. I lost $580.00. read more

If you don't agree with the owners political views, he will kick you out. It's absolutely Ridiculous to want to camp and get away from all that's going on and relax and get Kicked out because of a flag and deal with this. We are paying customers, what does it matter what we support. There was nothing going on other other than displaying a flag on our campsite. It's a flag it's not harming anyone! What happened to the values, tolerance and equality that this country was valued on. If it weren't for those same reasons, this owner wouldn't be able to open his own RV park without those same values. At the very least they should disclose it ahead of time that people who put out a flag are not welcome. read more

What a great little spot to run away to! Yes, it is small & cozy. Friendly people & good outdoor access. It is on the river, close to the gulf. There is a boat ramp, small sand beach & seawall. The few lawn chairs were all empty, but a few people were fishing. The waves were lapping on t ok the shore : the smell of salt water was very refreshing. It was a beautiful day & there was quite a bit of boat traffic. I even got to see dolphins playing! What's a girl to do? It has all you need & even a fish cleaning station & is animal friendly, I would highly recommend to all for a short or extended stay! read more

Can't say enough good words about this campground!!! We thought we would only need to be here for a week or so while we did some minor repairs to a new place we just purchased in Tarpon Springs. Needless to say it went on for five weeks and every time we needed to extend our stay Hickory Point was most gracious to accommodate us. They even accommodated my need to not be in an area where people smoked. They are dedicated to making your visit the best it can be! Every other Friday night they have The super galactic barbecue truck and the food is awesome!! Even if you're not staying there pop in for some great barbecue (and we're from Memphis so we know barbecue) !! read more

This is my one of our favorite campgrounds we have ever visited. We travelled over 1800 in early August and stayed in numerous campgrounds, only to come home the next w end and find Hickory Point. Its only 15 miles from us living in Lutz. almost didn't want to leave a view causing more people to visit and make it harder for us to find vacancies :) The two ladies running the campground are two of the sweetest people I have ever met. They have always gone way over and above what is expected. They are so kind and helpful, a gift card for dinner is in order for them the next time we visit. read more

Great little Florida Cracker West Coast campground. They have a nice dog park, boat ramp and a nice park area with horseshoes, teatherball and Cornhole. The park area is on the water. Very friendly staff and very helpful. You are only 10 minutes from some great restaurants and the sponge docks. You can hire a guide or book a head boat for fishing. read more

Staying on the water was our goal when we arrived in the Tampa area. Nice view of the river and watching the boats coming and going out to the gulf. Surprising too many trees dropping junk on our coach and car. Trees blocking our dish for the entire two week stay. We have stayed here a few times and always get waterfront sites. I made my reservation online and got a confirmation for waterfront. We checked in and come to find out my $243 2 night stay was not waterfront but waterview which was across the street from waterview The desk clerk tried to remedy the situation by offering us site 201 with an obstructed waterview, my complaint about this is why was it not offered to us in the first place. She also stated we are not the first customer to get shafted like this. This is not a good reflection on the owners of this campground. Beware when booking online, you think you're paying for one thing and getting something entirely different. This will be our last stay here. read more

Beautiful park right on the water!

Family was planning on staying at Yellowjack RV park in Old Town, FL (by Suwannee river) BUT it was the most horrible customer service I have ever received, so we decided to cancel our reservation and keep driving south towards our end destination. By complete coincidence we stumbled over Hickory Point Mobile Park ...and boy are we happy that we did!! Nancy and Nick (managers) of the place THE most awesome and friendly people one can meet. Site it self: Great place - great location ---- If we could give more than 5 stars, we would have given this place / these people 10 / TEN stars!!! Only stayed 1 night, but had we had time...we would have stayed a whole week there. (hopefully we will have time to stop there on our drive back home *smile) THANKS NANCY and NICK. You are both wonderful people and we feel so lucky to have meet you. Short ...but very delightful & pleasant experience.
