I am fully obsessed with this place. I've been twice now, and wakeboarding is definitely getting easier! Beware that if you're going for your first time, you're going to be sore in places you didn't know possible for days after. It gets easier as you do it more, but as someone who works out 5x per week, I simply was not expecting the impact this would have on my body. The staff is INCREDIBLE- they are so friendly when you check in and give such specific, helpful cues to get you up and moving on the cables. The food options are amazing. The pizza is fantastic. Highly recommend the breakfast pizza. You can order by QR code once you're down at the cables, which is so nice. There's this cool balcony area called Upper Decky which is perfect to walk people on the features when you're taking a break yourself. $40 for 3 hours is unbeatable too. You can bring your own snacks and drinks and other people can come hang out for free if they're not wakeboarding. If you're having trouble getting up on the wakeboard, they can pull out the kneeboard for you. Plus, there's a splash park. It's giving "Wipeout" to me- I'm not agile and I just kept falling off all the obstacles, but I guess that's kind of the point. Overall, The Cove is perfect for kids and adults alike! read more

Features are nice. Staff was friendly. After one trip out on the lake, there was lightning in the area and everyone got waived in. We tried to wait out the lighting. But no luck, park is pushing up on closing time. Asked for a rain check and we were told that we should have checked the weather, sorry. If that were the case in FL no one would ever ride.... So much fun! I love coming to this place. I used to ride being towed by my family's boat but cable is completely different. It takes some getting used to but the cable operators are super friendly and helpful! Tons of spectator space and some tables to hang out at if you want to take a break and eat. McCormicks Cable Park is located just outside Tampa off i4 and Mango/Seffner after the Hard Rock Casino and the i75 interstate exit off a dirt road in the boonies off the beaten path. It looks a bit Redneck and rough with the dirt road and shabbily constructed office shack building for checking in but the actual cable park and ramps are top notch and all you need to have a good time! Wake boarding at McCormicks Cable Park costs $28 for a 2 hour cable pass, $3 for a helmet, $3 for a vest, $15 for a basic wakeboard, and $20 for a premium wake board. Beginner Cable Lessons cost $45 and include all rental gear (wake board, helmet, vest) while an Advanced Cable Lesson goes for $85 and also includes all the gear. Compared to the price of renting a boat and filling it with gas, McCormicks Cable Park is a steal and a great value! Plus you end up going slower than you would on a boat which makes it slightly easier because it allows you slightly more time to plant and land jumps with little to no outside wake. Most people will be tired from wake boarding after about 20 minutes so having 2 hours is nice for having a little break and going again. There's plenty of ramps at different angles for different style jumps and rails for different types of rail tricks! Every weekend the park switches up the positioning and order of the ramps and rails to provide a different experience for riders! I definitely recommend the beginner course if you've never been wake boarding before and the 2 hour pass as it's only $3 more than the 1 hour pass! Great wakeboard cable park that was a perfect place to spend a hot day with my Son. We had been to another park in Orlando which was fun as well, but this park was not crowded at all. My Son got in so many rides he was DONE. Could not have asked for a better time. Well worth it in my opinion. Has that down home feel to it. Not a corporate one. Only suggestion, more benches under the trees by the jumps. That was an awesome place to sit! And maybe some music? But if those two things never happen, it will still be a great spot. read more

Having recently been to a cable park here in the Dallas Ft. Worth area I can fully appreciate how great McCormicks really is. The course is long so you get a couple of really good long straight aways before having to navigate another corner. The water gets really warm so that's not so great, they could use to run a fountain or something to keep the water cooler. Otherwise its a long walk back to your car or their Rental house, so bring a cooler and some snacks you'll have a great time! read more

McCormick's is a great place. The cable park course is larger than the Orlando Watersports Complex and the prices are slightly cheaper. I have been to the Orlando Watersports Complex once and I have been to McCormick's about 5 times in the past 2 years. Orlando offers a larger beginner course. McCormick's beginner course is very small. But wake boarders with only very slight talent (like myself) have no problem navigating the larger course at McCormick's. read more

What a great place! We knew zero about wake boarding until we took my 10 year old here on a whim and now we have to practically drag her out of there to get her home. The staff and other wake boarders are all crazy nice and helpful and there is a very relaxed vibe. Also can't say enough nice things about how great Jamie is as an instructor. read more

We went to McCormicks for ski lessons on "boat lake". The instructor, Michael, was fantastic. He kept everybody motivated and feeling positive, and everyone was able to ski successfully before our session ended. read more

Such a great cable park outside of Tampa... relaxed, casual atmosphere, and the staff was really cool. The cable is spinning opposite from what I'm used to (clockwise), so that was different. And the obstacles were well placed. If I had more time, I would have hit more (I only hit two of the eight). The five tower set-up is silky smooth, so if you're a beginner, you'll have fun. The natural island in the center really keeps the water smooth. I think it's cool that this place is tucked away... I saw quite a bit of nature hanging out. I saw cows and ducks and catfish, which reminded me of BSR in Texas. Water was clean and the bottom of the lake was solid (not mucky). The rope handles were larger than normal (which is nice). Good job guys, I'll definitely be back. read more

This place is the best! Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a beginner, aged young to old, this place is a blast. They offer slower riding times at certain times for beginners, as well as advanced one on one training to speed up the learning process! Every boarder and employee there is respectful and helpful, no need to feel embarrassed when you wipe out your first dozen times because you will be greeted with tips, praise, and encouragement. I can't think of a better way to spend my Saturday (if there's no wind for kiteboarding) than here! The only downside is the price for a monthly pass. If it were my marketing strategy I would use a bulk purchase of all day passes instead of a high price for unlimited monthly. :) that's why only 4 stars, but otherwise great! read more

Went wake boarding for the first time here. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the staff while other staff was obviously more interested in hanging with the pros and even seem annoyed at noobs. I can appreciate that but as a noob, it is quite frustrating. As far as facilities, I have no complaints. They're bare bones - be prepared to bring some snacks/other food, just bring a cooler and bring it with you out to the dock. On a busy day be prepared to spend 20m or so waiting for your next ride. My advice for a beginner, go on a weekday or call ahead and ask if they're busy. Rental gear was top notch and other riders of all skill levels were mostly friendly, willing to help and give tips. Eh, long waits, especially if you're as bad as I am. If you're not great don't bother. In two hours, we probably got four tries. Website is a little misleading that you can get the hang of it there, there was only one cable operating and the regulars seemed to be able to jump in line. Took four of my relatives ( ages ranged from 15 to 40 ) for something really different to do. Your trainers were very patient and great at what they do. He took his time with each one of them and made sure they had the concept of how to get up on their boards (which all of them did) and were comfortable with it. Very patient. The rest of the staff, who I can not thank enough, did a fantastic job also. Now that all they talk about. They now will take this over any amusement park any day. When I got to the facility I was really pumped. The location was cool and the guy behind the counter was nice. Cable and features were cool too. However, the guy operating the cable was a textbook example of a douche bag. Him and a so called coach helping a beginner were making fun of the student openly when they were out on the water trying to learn how to ride. There were two sponsored riders who were really enjoying sniffing their own farts and feeling high and mighty about themselves. They also enjoyed bagging on the beginners. Their attitude killed my stoke. Out on the water I enjoyed all of the features but found myself waiting in line along time. Not because of a crowd but because the cable would drop the ropes when switching. Then the operator would complain about the costumers not swimming out to collect the ropes. This place is probably awesome if you're a local but as visitor/tourist the atmosphere is a downer. This was the nearest cable to where I was staying and I spent the rest of my trip traveling the extra twenty minutes driving to Orlando where the stoke was awesome, the employes were nicer and more stoked, and the features were more professional. read more
