A picture of my foot that no one saw to.
    Shalanda T.

First of all, I went in for a 5 day alcohol detox voluntarily, to get it out of my system. There was a lovely lady at the front desk who helped me. They told me I needed an assessment. I was locked in a room for 5 hours until a nurse came in to give me an assessment. After that, I waited another hour to be notified that I would be admitted. Mind you, my husband is going crazy waiting to hear from me. After I get undressed and everything, they take me to Unit 3. This unit is strictly for mentally disabled people. I'm confused. I don't know why they have me in there with them. Screaming and yelling all night long. So, the next day, I told them I wanted to leave because there was no way I could detox and get my rest if I was in there. So, they moved me to unit 4, which was just as bad. They had not one alcohol detox in the whole unit, and even forgot I was there to detox. I had burned my foot prior to coming there and although I asked for help from a white tall nurse hockey player with no bed side manner at all, I got none. I asked for a bandage to put on it and was told that it needed to breathe. Need to breath!? I'm not trying to get infected! Anyway, I slept through the night, but by that time, I'm realizing that this is not for me, so I tell the Nurse Practitioner with braids, who I am sure is a wicked witch, that I'd like to leave. She asked me all these questions and told me that I wouldn't be able to go home under doctors orders, but I told her if they didn't let me go home, since I did voluntarily go there, I would raise hell and so would my husband. They let me go. Not everyone is as lucky as I am and I am totally traumatized by this situation. They try their best to keep you and your insurance money there, but I'll tell you this, there will be a day when this place will shut down, because they don't have those poor patients' best interests at heart. God bless! On a more pleasant note, Tech Yolande, Tech Jackie, Nurse Jackie and her side kick, also another tech with short hair were a sheer delight!

Only a portion of my phone records to show how absolutely ridiculous it is to get ahold of someone.

Im TERRIFIED of needles and she was patient, nice, and didn't make me feel stupid for being ridiculously afraid of needles. She fanned me when I was drenched in sweat (lol) and it actually didnt hurt that much at all. She knows what shes doing. Macy (RN) also was very nice and helpful. She bought me a Gatorade with her own money to help rehydrate me. So sweet! Theres a few other names I cannot remember but will update when I get the names. Thank you to everyone who was very helpful and kind to me.

This visit was at the Desoto, TX location, next to Kroger grocery…read more I took my fiancee' into this location on the afternoon of 7/25/2023 for two issues. One of which was a possible wrist fracture and the other, an (pet) animal bite. We went directly into the office, not knowing that an appointment was needed. The young lady at the reception desk was very understanding and pleasant but had to direct us to the online portal to make an appointment, which we did. We were seen by FNP-C Koffi, who was very pleasant and was very focused on the patient and getting an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment. We were very pleased with her care. X-rays were necessary for a possible fractured wrist and were completed very quickly. The photos were sent to an Xray tech for interpretation and were returned in about 15-20 minutes. This is a very reasonable timeframe as well. The animal bite was examined, did not show any sign of infection at that time. Ms. Koffi instructed us to monitor it and if it became infected, to call back in to the office and we would be prescribed antibiotics as treatment. The visit ended with us paying the expected price and leaving the practice feeling very good about the visit. I wrote an initial review using the link that came to us via text message, stating that we had been very pleased. THE NEXT DAY, on 7/26/2023, the animal bite was distinctly infected. My fiancee' called back in to the practice to get the promised prescription. She was told that this was not possible. She would have to pay for a 2nd visit, or wait until Ms. Koffi returned to duty (48 hours later). I stopped by the office on 7/27 to confirm this and a different reception desk attendant told me that this was correct, there would be no prescription written without additional payment or waiting for Ms. Koffi to return. Imagine a health care company that will let an infected animal bite go untreated unless they extort more payment from you - or tell you to just let the infection simmer for a couple more days until the other nurse is on duty. This is not a health care company that cares about patients. In conclusion, I sincerely hope Ms. Koffi finds better employment in the very near future. This kind of organization has some very good people but is interested only in your money, not your healthcare.

Me: "I was told by the Cedar Gill clerk that I can come to this location to be seen because their x-ray machine was broken." I picked up appointment card and headed to a better area and location where I was treated with more dignity, empathy, and respect.
