Whole thing was broken and a waste of time and money for our family. I expected a refund but they didn't care. Stuff that was supposed to be locked was unlocked. A person actually interrupted once and said that it was supposed to be locked. We opened a door to a screen with an error message. Tried to tell them it was broken and they said don't give up. My friends and I had such a great time here! I found this place on trip advisor and there were great reviews so I decided to give it a shot! Patty, the current owner and our game master, was super sweet and helped us just enough when we got ourselves into tough spots and we ended up clearing the room with about 15 minutes to spare! Super fun night out with friends. Kolton with a K was an awesome host and definitely deserves a raise! There were 7 of us, I can't imagine having much more than that completing it but having friends with different problem solving skills was super helpful. We did the North Fork room which was super fun. Completed with 15 min to spare and the whole time in the dark!! This was our first escape room. I didn't really know what to expect. My first impressions upon entering the building were that it seemed kind of dirty (animal fur on the carpet) and too dimly lit. I was sitting there thinking, "Are these 30 watt bulbs they're using?" The escape room was okay but for a newbie, it was disheartening and frustrating that the first 3-5 clues/tasks were almost impossible to do without a lot of clues and help. The time limit seemed too short too. So we started to feel discouraged and frustrated right off the bat. The room was also so dimly lit which presented problems actually seeing what we were looking for or doing. They really should provide flashlights or head lamps if they're going to keep such a dimly lit space. I also expected to see a greater variety of clues and tasks--such as riddles or skill games--instead we just spent our entire time hunting codes to locks. There were also technical difficulties with the sound so that we couldn't hear clearly some of the audio clues. This game room isn't really the best for younger children as well as it's geared for adults so that made it overly complex for our mixed-age group. I think it's a cool concept but the execution was not that well-done. I expected a more "high end" experience for the price charged. My son who is an avid puzzle solver said he would rate his experience as a 2/10. I'm being generous with 5/10. I wouldn't return to this particular location. Our family of 8 traveled to Whitefish to visit GNP. We needed a day off from hiking to recover and found Hidden Key Escape Games in Kalispell and thought it would be a great indoor activity to get out of the hot sun in the afternoon. We just finished the CSI room and had a blast! There were enough puzzles and clues for everyone to work on and feel involved. It was cleverly designed with fun props and a compelling storyline. My first visit to one of these types of attractions, although I have heard many things about them. We had a great time trying to solve the old Montana room. This is the newest of two challenge rooms at hidden key and it is well thought-out, with moderately difficult puzzles and was lots of fun. They have plans for a third room in the near future. Each of the rooms is increasing in difficulty and are best attacked with a small group (4-8) working tightly as a team. My suggestion is if you don't solve the room ask the staff not to spoil it. This will be mentally hard because you will definitely want to know the solution. But hold out, come back and try again. The staff was awesome! They have contagious enthusiasm and really love what they are doing. I can't wait to see what new challenges they come up with. Great job, I'm so happy to have this new activity in whitefish. read more

I didn't come to Montana to do an escape room but Hidden Key happened to be near our hotel and I DO enjoy escape room adventures (have done 2 before this, in nyc) so when the weather turned to cold and rain we made a reservation here. It was a very fun hour, and worth the price of admission. If you're looking for something fun to do in whitefish with another friend or up to 3 other friends, that isn't limited to just drinking/eating/watching sports, I'd highly recommend this place. I'm not sure what there actual limit is, per room, but for the cabin adventure I did with 1 other person, I don't think there's enough to do to keep more than 4 ppl interested the whole time. We succeeded with just the two of us but there were definitely parts where we felt like we could have benefited from extra help. Thankfully the two ladies staffing the place when we went were great at asking us if we'd like hints just when we were getting stuck. :) read more
