The pool tables in the back are cool, there is at least enough spacing between each one. The beer specials are good, and we went on a karaoke night, and I was impressed with the number of people with actual skill that were singing. Only a three because we got stopped by a few dudes sitting in the smoking area (don't make me say crackheads) but let's say, in a potentially altered state, that I never once saw inside the bar during the couple of hours I was there. read more

Found this bar late on a Thursday evening tucked in the north central part of San Antonio. Friendly, hard working staff. Open seating and performance area. Luckily when we got there, we were treated to an awesome one man blues jam- Aric Garza- who plays every Thursday. I have a couple of friends that love this place so I end up here on occasion. I don't dislike it, so if you invite me I'll probably go. The beer prices are reasonable and the drinks aren't too watery. They have added a small patio area since the smoking ban came into effect and it was so packed you couldn't get out there. I trusted Yelp to find a good bar with cheap drinks and did I get exactly what I wanted :) they've for drink specials everyday of the week! We came on Saturday, they had karaoke and some free food set up for everyone. I will be back again soon, amber was our bartender and she was awesome. read more

It's ok... its a hole in the wall WHAT DO U WANT lol. Went early 5 pm just because it was labeled a "Lounge" lol NO diff between a reg hole in the wall bar. I see a bunch of reg customers and bartender talking w most and ignoring the rest but in all honesty I think she's drunk already but very nice and pleasant Place itself is very space, clean for a hole has pool tables darts. Been coming here for years I love this place when Toby has been running the Karaoke. The staff is always cool and efficient and I am by far no way a regular! Depending on who the KJ will depend on your experience. When Toby runs the show you have great sound and care for the singers and the rotation, he has his quirks but its understandable and he lays it out up front so everyone knows what's going on. All the others are either high intoxicated or playing the buddy game with the rotation. Why is so hard to find a good KJ! FYI Toby was only doing Friday nights the last time I went! read more

Came here to check out karaoke. Great selection and sound. Cool setup as well. Problem is that there were a ton of singers waiting yet the KJ continued to play long bit of music in between singers. I would say it was around 10 minutes between each singer bar tender was cool and took care of me. Sings good too. If I have to wait this long every time, not really my type of place. Hidden tavern is my favorite neighborhood bar! I go a couple times a week for Karaoke.. Great drink specials every night!! Have gone here a few times on Saturday nights with the girls. Place is super divey but comes with cheap drinks and fun times. This place has it all! Karaoke, pool, darts, and did I mention the cheap drinks! We always end up taking a cab whenever we come because the good times just seem to flow at the HT. Karaoke here sucks unless you want to wait forever. I've had multiple experiences here on both weekday and weekend nights and will not be coming back. The only reason why I'm giving this 2 stars is because the bartenders are nice and drink prices are good. My most recent visit was on a Tuesday. I came to sing a few songs and play some pool. There were literally 5 people in the bar and KJ (outlaw karaoke) didn't start til 10:30. I was the first person signed up and he put 3 songs between himself and I. There were about only 5 singers in the rotation and it took an hour because he kept playing songs in between. The second rotation had slightly more people. He put himself up again around 12 midnight when two other singers, who literally just got there, had no wait. When I questioned where I was at he said "three more". That's bullsh** to be at a bar for 2 hours with 10 people and only sing two songs. I used to KJ myself and if I would have put 5 people in between my first singer on the third rotation would have been fired! Plus he spent the entire time time smoking and drinking between songs AND DROPPED A SPEAKER BECAUSE IT WASNT PROPERLY SET UP!! I tipped the batender $6 on 3 drinks. For a place that advertises themselves as a karaoke bar this is not good practice! Go to Me and CA or Dads. I will not be returning. Get a new KJ!!! read more
