This is the most awesome dive bar that I have visited in San Antonio, I have experienced five of their bartenders, they are amazing each with their own personalities and styles. This place isn't your typical bar. The people are nice, the drinks are good and the prices are reasonable. The other night my friend and I walked into this bar and we're greeted by silence and minimal people - not bad but definitely not what you imagine when you think of a bar. The only "bad" thing I can say about this place is that you have to pay to listen to music. My friend and I were the only two playing music in the entire bar. We were the DJ'a until we decided to leave which cost both of us around $20 on top of our bar tap which was about $30. So when we left (2 hours later) our "let's go grab a drink and catch up" night cost us around $50. All in all it's not a bad place but it's definitely a neighborhood bar. read more

I'm pretty surprised by the reviews for this place. I haven't been there too much but the couple of times I went I had no problems. They have a jukebox which is a good thing and bad thing in my opinion. Depends on who's putting the money in and picking the songs but the last time I went the selection was good. Drinks were pretty cheap too. I've never had an attitude problem with the bartenders. Be careful with your bill. I did get my bill one time and it was more then I actually bought, but they fixed it with no problem. The place is definitely a hole in the wall. If you don't know how to get there you'll never stumble upon it. It's a clean bar with a nice patio outside. I would disagree with both the of these reviews. read more

Coco Beach is my go to hole in the wall bar. I love it because I can sit at the bar afterwork and not be judged on my lack of current jersey shoreish clothing like so many places in town. The music is off a jukebox, which as long as it is not highjacked by someone with very off the wall or unique taste is ok. The drinks are good and cheap, nightly specials the also now have a free popcorn machine. The TVs are everywhere so it's good for the game of the week viewing or whatnot. The no smoking ban has sent the smoking crowd out to the very large and comfortable patio. Would rate this a 5 star if they had a little bit more.... But the owner is always improving. Ordered a Shiner and a whiskey sour, bartender quoted us $6.50. Very fair, I was happy and the drink was tasty! I gave her ten dollars cash and I got 50 cents back. Since when do you tip yourself? I make a habit of tipping at least a dollar a drink but of my own volition. We are always in search of a good neighborhood bar but won't be back based on this. Also, the ladies room is two open stalls so you can lock the whole thing but you're either going openly or keeping both stalls to yourself. read more

My friend and I went to Coco Beach with hopes to have a good time with great service, however, the young lady who was bartentneding must've had problem with us, it was out first time there together and we were reading the chalk board so we could call the bartender by name, she informed us that she wasn't the bartender on the board and asked if we had a problem. That was an extremely rude question for her to ask us, we felt she was being racist because my boyfriend is black. He was be respectful. He's had a tough week fight fires all week as he's a Firefighter and didn't deserve that treat. We will never go back because of the service we experienced. Just left this bar and honestly it seems that everyone that was there were locals n we were the outcast and the bar tenders pretty much made us feel just like that Outcasts! Terrible service never asked us if we wanted another drink, very short and kind of rude when I asked a question! My husband and i live a few blocks from this place and we would like to find a nice place to hang out and relax a bit, but not in this place terrible service and dirty at that.
