The Linneys stone grind corn meal, corn bread mix, grits, and they sell my favorite: buckwheat pancake mix. This is an authenic, operating water mill, and depending on when you visit, you can see the entire process, from the water wheel driven grind stone to the packaging and selling of the finished products. The Linney's campground adjoins the mill with campsites by the creek. Visiting the mill is like stepping way back in time. No credit cards accepted, and no cell phone signal here. These are good people, and this is an authentic experience.

The campground itself it very nice and maintained, there could be more amenities for kids to have something to do, since there isn't alot of local attractions nearby to entertain small kids or teenagers. Honestly, never met a better staff and I have stayed in alot of different campgrounds due to traveling for work. Again, just more activities and things for kids like mini golf, splash pads, or anything family oriented really would be the only thing to top off such a wonderful place to stay.

The owner is great and the host (Mike) is beyond amazing! We've been camping there for 8 years and love it more each time we go. The camper spots are very spacious and C1-C3 are completely shaded. C3 is the best by far! But you have to book early because C3 is very popular! Some things to know before you go! They do not have water hookups at the sites - you fill your camper tank with water at the office area. They have spots with electric hookups. They have a dump station where you can empty your tanks on your way out. This is a simple & beautiful campground. There are trails to walk/hike, mountain view to see, bathhouse with 3 bathroom/showers, and one with just a bathroom. This is by far the cleanest bathhouse I have ever seen. They show great attention to this campground and make sure all their campers are happy. You can also purchase wood at the office. There are a few t-shirts for sale at the office, as well. If you haven't checked it out, you are truly missing out! This is a great place with great people!

Beautiful lake, nice boat ramp and a small beach area. Bath houses are old need to be upgraded but had good hot water. Most of the camping sites are permanent sites. Only ten sites that rent. Any site you that you may rent are all great. Graveled full hook ups and picnic table. A nice tree at every site so you do have some shade. Not far to bathhouses. Will be going back there for a weekend.

We stayed in the lodge itself. Comfortable area to socialize complete with a beautiful handcrafted bar. Our bedroom had a country feel and would be a bargain at 3x the price. However, we didn't spend much time in it as there is so much to do here. It was a very short walk to the main town area. It is like walking on the set of a Western like Gunsmoke complete with Miss Kitty's saloon. There are horses tied to hitching rails and not a motorized vehicle in sight. I don't remember how many riding trails there are. We rode on 2 of them and really had a great time. The horses are absolutely beautiful and well trained. The food is good here but if you need a fancier restaurant, Statesville is just a short drive away. Risto's was our favorite.

They had apartments, cabins, tent sites, and RV sites for rent with electricity and water hookups! They have a playground for kids, picnic tables, a clean bathhouse with warm showers, and a fully stocked camp store! Each site had a picnic table & fire pit and river view! We had so much fun! Best part of all, they have a canoe/kayak trip! We did the 5 mile canoe trip, and it was a blast! Definitely made the trip : )

We had a bit of a rollercoaster experience during our recent family stay! On the bright side, the…read morekids had a blast with the jump pads, the coaster carts, and mini-golf. The cafe and ice cream were fantastic, and the food overall was a major highlight. However, our arrival and first night were pretty rough. For a $1,000 cabin rental, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and preparation. We were shocked to find large roaches on the top bunks and a cabin full of bugs. To make matters worse, despite having a family of four, only one set of sheets was provided, leaving us with nowhere to sleep the first night so our first day here was not a good start since we didn't sleep well, such a bummer. We reported it right away, but had to go back a second time before getting help. There were also a few safety and sanitation issues that raised concerns. The Wibit pads were completely covered in geese poop, and at the waterfront, there were no small life jackets available--leaving a ton of kids wearing oversized jackets with zero staff monitoring the area. My son got a bad cold with ear and sinus infection from the filthy water and swimming in feces. We also received zero info at check-in about the weak Wi-Fi or resort basics. We are making the best of our trip and still plan to enjoy the remaining activities, but management definitely needs to step up cleanliness, safety oversight, and communication. Also the staff came up to me and asked our golf cart number while we were relaxing. That was a bit awkward to me but understand they want to keep tabs on them.

Nicely laid out, with good roads and clean and tidy pullouts with marked trails, but road signs could be a bit clearer. A beautiful spot - or at least what little we saw.

Amazing views!!!…read more Came here on a group hike and it did not disappoint! We did the 4 something mile loop from the upper parking lot to the waterfall and back to the parking lot. It is hard! The amount of incline is enough but going up the stairs after resting at the waterfall was dreadful. We survived! The views are OMG!!!!! Wow! Breathtaking at each lookout. The stone is so smooth it almost looks painted. It rained a little at one of our lookout stops and it was such a refreshing experience. Cellphone reception here is super limited and so I want to come back in hopes I'll be able to actually track my hike .
