We liked the porch swing and was nice to have the game area near by. The campground looked clean when we walked to their playgrounds. Our son enjoyed the playground. They only had the main office restrooms due to the cold temps. We would stay again when in the area.

With EVERY interaction with them it was with an aggressive demenor. They even made it a point to inform us the MALE owner was in the US MARINES. We weren't there to ingage in combat. We respect every branch of our military and honor those who served. I'm sure the US Marine Corp would not approve on the way he/they are abusing the integrity of what they stand for. We decided to leave the hostile environment. We found an AMAZING campground just a few miles down the freeway, MIDWAY campground in Statesville. Please check it out. The staff is friendly, there is an olympic size pool, miniature golf, bounce pad, fishing lake and more. Make awesome memories at MIDWAY RV RESORT. Leave the hostile nightmare at Statesville KOA. Beautiful lake, nice boat ramp and a small beach area. Bath houses are old need to be upgraded but had good hot water. Most of the camping sites are permanent sites. Only ten sites that rent. Any site you that you may rent are all great. Graveled full hook ups and picnic table. A nice tree at every site so you do have some shade. Not far to bathhouses. Will be going back there for a weekend.

The coffee shop was a nice feature, but we were disappointed that it wasn't open on our way out of town Sunday. We understand why it's closed on Sundays, but the coffee shop, also being open to the public, should be open on Sundays if they're going to use this as a selling feature for coming to Big Mike's. The parking pads are a decent size and we had one right on the river. Since we were there in October, there wasn't a whole lot to do especially in the creek. It was evident at the time that big Mike was still working on expanding and building his dream RV park. The open area field is perfect for families so kids can run around or play ball. Overall, it was clean and the shower facilities were one of the best we'd experienced on our travels. We highly recommend big Mike's RV Resort!

They are located right next to the Interstate and very easy to access with a larger RV. As well, the proximity to the highway meant that my mobile coverage was outstanding. This is a large campground with several dozen pads. I was at one facing a small fishing pond and while I had neighbors on both sides, it was still very quiet. The pad was level and the hookup - 30/50 amp, water, dump - all worked perfectly well for me. The pad area is crushed stone and grass, so it was nice to not be concerned about tracking dirt back into the RV. The bathhouse was clean and comfortable. I felt secure using it. The maintenance man who confirmed the presence of bed bugs reported that this has been a repeated problem for these cabins. We reached out to yogi bear by phone and by email to alert them and ask for compensation. It's been 8 days and they still haven't responded.
